This is a beautiful base camp to explore the region. The nearby beach is beautiful and the owners are very likeable. Lala‘s food is amongst the best I had in Sri Lanka. I would definitely come back.

really hot, an AC would work like a miracle, not much to do around and Thalalla beach is a little bit boring compared to others..

I was scared because it is a place without many reviews but 0 regrets. owners (Lala and Abu) are absolutely awesome , you can also request lunch/dinner/ breakfast (tasty and decent portions), surprisingly no mosquitos here, all ultrahypermegaclean..

The host family, breakfast and dinner, the property, the room (I really liked that it had a wardrobe, a closet and plenty of hangers) , the furniture, the cleanliness, the supermarket right across the street (even though I didn't need it), the garden, the terrace, Lala's tea....

I had such a wonderful stay at Hey Lala Talalla! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the stunning Talalla Beach, which feels like a hidden gem. The guesthouse itself is clean, cozy, and surrounded by a lovely garden that adds to the peaceful vibe. What truly made the stay exceptional was the hospitality. Dulaj and his family are incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to help with anything. His mother’s cooking is out of this world—homemade Sri Lankan meals that I still dream about! The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice balcony where I could relax with a book. I really appreciated the shared kitchen and the reliable Wi-Fi, plus the bonus of massages and bike rentals available right on site. If you’re looking for a quiet, authentic experience near the beach with amazing hosts, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Stay in Hey Lala was incredible time. The whole family of host were incredible and so nice. They make our stay at place special. Especially Lala is outstanding woman always smileing, happy and ready to help when it's needed. Also son Dulaj and Lala husband were great too. About accommodation, building is new and fresh and keeping on great condition. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Mosqito net is avaiable when you ask. Standard was great and if you add price ratio event more better. There is common space with living rooms, kitchen with all needed equipment, balcony and so good garden to spend evening there. Really recommend this place. And greetings from our family.

Staying with Lala, Salier and their son Dulaj (sorry the names are probably spelt incorrectly) has been the most wonderful and beautiful experience of my five weeks in Sri Lanka. If you want to experience the true kindness and nature of the people here I can only recommend to stay with the family for a few days. They have been so kind and accommodating and just so lovely. Lala even showed me how to prepare Daal, as it’s my favourite dish in Sri Lanka. I hardly ever write reviews but I really do mean it. I’m so happy to have stayed with them!

we went to the beach about a five minute walk from the hotel and got sunburned. otherwise we had faulous waves and the beach at our end had no other people surfing. very relaxed area. we both got sunburned that is what we didn't like

the place is literally unbelievable. We stayed in a fancy hotel over 120EU in Kandy, and this one for 25Eu about a day including breakfast and dinner was 5 times better. This may be the best deal for visitors to Sril Lanian in the entire nation. the food is gourmet level food. we had numerous curries that ranged from spicy to barely any spice. each meal was different and beyond any other restauratn food we had eated in quality. LaLa is the chef and her son Dulaj the manager. Aside from the food the roomwas magnificent. we had a private outside porch with lounge chairs. airconditioning and fan. I have bought two avocadoes and LaLa made an avacado ice cold drink that was spectacular. Ev erything was new clean and soothing. There is no better hotel in Sri Lanka.

Hey Lala is a family owned guesthouse, very familiar, modern, cozy and clean. Dulaj and his family really make you feel home away from home making sure to offer and organise everything you need. The rooms are clean and tiday, there’s hot water showers and a really good A/C. Hey Lala is situated at the main road close to the beach, just a min walk. Lala, the mother is a fantastic chef and I truly recommend having breakfast and dinner there as she is offering the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. They offer laundry service and Dulaj even organised a whole trip to the national park with driver and everything! The most beautiful thing about Hey Lala is the warm hearted family: you will never forget the hospitality and Lalas beautiful smile, which feels like sunshine all day! The beach is empty and beautiful, there’s also a yoga place 10min walk if you’re into yoga. Just beautiful! I decided to come back with a friend for another two nights, cause I loved it so much! Thank you for everything!

The space was not just cozy and impeccably clean but radiated a warmth that made our experience truly unforgettable. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. They welcomed us like family, always attentive to our needs while giving us the privacy to relax. We had the chance to connect with them and were touched by their kindness, generosity, and the care they put into every detail of the accommodation. The location was perfect for us—peaceful yet close enough to explore Talalla beach Waking up to the serene views of their garden and enjoying the thoughtful touches throughout the property made every day a delight. This wasn’t just a place to stay; it was an experience filled with beautiful memories. We can’t recommend Lala enough and her cooking skills. We had the greatest food in Sri Lanka while we stayed there. Thank you for making us feel like part of the family!

Everything was ok.

Accommodation is in a newly built house. The rooms are clean, fully equipped. It is not far to Talalla beach. Both Dulaj and his parents are very nice hosts. Dulaj's mother is an excellent cook. The meals were really delicious. It is also possible to order lunch and dinner.
