It is a bit out of reach so without a vehicle or bike you are quite left there. There was definitely overpriced food for the location.

This place has its own magic. It is definitely a great place for relaxation and surfing.

The location is amazing! You are on a beach, where very few people walk by. Good waves are directly in front of the property and if you’re not a surfers, you’ve plenty of options to relax on the beach with the nice “beach cabanas”. The food is delicious, but unfortunately quite pricy. We stayed in the family cabana and it was a blast! The kids loved it! Also, Michelle welcomed us with such warmth, we directly felt good! The entire staff is very friendly and nice! We definitely recommend this wonderful place!

The only thing we didn’t enjoy was leaving this paradise!

Hilltop Cabanas – a beautiful and truly epic stay. Almost deserted beaches, a wonderfully designed jungle-like property, and an open treehouse with the perfect view of the ocean in the distance. Open-air showers, excellent food with the tastiest Rice and Curry, and creative combinations of Sri Lankan and international dishes. A fantastic and lovely team—so kind, helpful, and friendly—made the stay even more special. Great events such as beach BBQs with campfires or movie nights, plus comfortable beach beds and loungers. Even the drive to the property feels like a safari, with herds of elephants, peacocks, langurs, and wild crocodiles—though the resort itself feels perfectly safe. Excellent yoga classes, surfboards of all sizes (though all quite worn). An unforgettable experience for me, my wife, and our children.

This cabana was an absolute gem! Just a couple of steps from the sea, it felt like having a private slice of paradise. The location is stunning—right on the beach with hardly anyone around, which made it incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying coffee with a sea breeze was unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, beautiful setting.

It’s really isolated, so you depend on the restaurant. The food is very nice but the choice is limited and a bit pricy. Online they promised to arrange boards and surf teachers, but when we arrived all boards were already rented out so better come prepared . There is no wifi but thast the idea :)

Located on a beautiful, isolated beach this place is a perfect retreat from the busy beaches of Arugam Bay. Sandy and wild sea, great for surfing. The rooms are basic but charming, built from wood with open showers. From the windows you see deep green trees, and the sound of the waves is everywhere. There’s no air-conditioning, but there are fans. It can be a bit hot during the day, but nights are wonderful with open windows and the sound of the sea. The team is generous and pleasant. We loved our stay!

The treehouse accommodation, the outdoor bathroom, the natural day beds and chill out areas, the virtually private surf break right out front, absolutely magical! This place was a fave in Sri Lanka, a beautiful experience! Also the food here is seriously amazing, the communal dinner is a really nice experience- we had a bonfire here for dinner with fresh tuna cooked on it, we surfed a lot, highly recommend this stunning place!

We had an amazing time at Hilltop Cabanas! The place is located right at the beach and around there is pretty much just nature - we loved it! The manager was so friendly and even showed us wild roaming elephants in the afternoon, an unforgettable experience! The Cabana itself was perfect: it was clean, had a special atmosphere because you are sleeping „outside“ but even tho there was no AC it‘s not too hot at night. The common area had some books and games you could use which was also really cool. The food choices were limited (offseason) but the meals were just fantastic - 10/10! All in all: 100% recommend this place!

Rasa is a very friendly and on top he is a great cook! Lovely breakfasts and dinners. The cabin is marvelously located, remote and secluded at the beach. So nice to hang out! Plus Yoga on a deck with ocean view, walks with the owner’s dogs Romeo and Mocca. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute!

I never wanted to leave Hilltop! The cabana was a peaceful haven and absolutely comfortable, the areas to relax were beautiful, the beach was gorgeous, the hosts were helpful and kind, the food was delicious...I truly wish I could have stayed forever!
