Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bathroom dated. Kettle and cups present but no tea or coffee included. Perhaps an oversight
We used it for overnight stopover. It was convenient, staff were friendly and very accommodating i.e. opened the pool after arriving late and hot. Went to the bar for a few beers and a bite to eat, met a few locals who I presumed used the bar regularly who were very welcoming and they had a sing song which was very entertaining. Was clean and breakfast was decent, overall good value for money

The check in process on our first day took over an hour as they had an issue with their key card. Once we checked in, the room had not been prepared, the room was very warm as if the ac had not been switched on for a long time, the floor and floor lobby was in complete darkness, we had to ask the guy to switch on the lights, no blankets and towels and had to ask for them. Only hand soap provided in the washroom (no shower gel and shampoo), had to ask for coffee and tea which was supposed to be provided in the room. We had booked with breakfast and had requested for breakfast to be sent to our room to which the receptionist declined saying that it is against the policy of the hotel to send breakfast to the room. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and it had very limited options. It’s 45 mins away from the airport so need to check out earlier to make sure to reach the airport on time.
Big and clean rooms, good and prompt service, easy to for uber taxis and tuk tuks to reach the location, within a radius of 15 mins of most of the tourist locations. They have a luggage room without additional charge. We kept our luggage with them for 4 days and upon return it was as it is. The morning receptionist is very helpful and kind. They always gave us the wake up call as requested. Due to these reasons we booked here again for our last night at Colombo. Their laundry service is very good and return back your clothes the same evening after washing and ironing.

A little more variety in breakfast with addition of Indian breakfast preparations like Upma, Poha, Dhokla etc. will be nice.

The host was great, he didn't even ask for anything and drove us everywhere, he wanted us to experience the best for the short amount of time that we were staying there. The location is in the city around with an amazing surrounding, and the main street relatively fast. All the tourism objects were nearby, we could access everything easily. best one.

We liked our big room which has two big windows with a view of the garden and a wonderful bathroom with an authentic design. The staff was really polite and helpful. Breakfast is really large and tasty. rarely found this.

The hosts are so welcoming and were helpful with everything we needed. The breakfast is really good and it was served directly to our terrace, where we enjoyed the view of the surrounding. best one in Colombo city.
