Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe communication leading up to the stay. The information regarding payment is not clear on Booking.com; the only T's & C's info relates to the cancellation policy, not the payment policy. I expected to pay on arrival but Leopard Trails Whatsapp'ed me two weeks beforehand demanding payment in full or the booking would be cancelled.
The safari was great as we were lucky enough to see elephants, a bear, a leopard, water buffalo etc with a really informative and fun guide (Malmi). The tent suite was great for four adults (mum, dad and two young adult kids).

United KingdomThe booking process was a complete pain and involved many more texts and phone conversations than was necessary. This part of the process should be more professional.
Leopard trails was a fantastic experience. The staff are amazing and our guide Malmi was the ultimate professional. He really made our whole stay shine. We saw all the big animals the park has to view and many more interesting creatures as well. The food is delicious the rooms are luxurious and it was a pleasure all round.

AustraliaNothing, everything was spectacular
Leopard Trails was a spectacular start to our Sri Lanka trip. Raj and the team went above and beyond for our family of four. He arranged both a morning and afternoon safari for us and we were lucky enough to see leopards and sloth bears. The packed breakfast for our safari was superb. The tent was spacious, clean and quiet. We haven’t been able to top the food we had here. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and we hope to return again some day soon

United KingdomLeopard Trails was a great spot for the safari drives in Wilpattu. Our host Malmi was very friendly and helpful for our stay, including being our guide on the safari drives - he was very knowledgable and made such an effort with all the wildlife spotting to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible. The food was delicious with lots of great Sri Lankan dishes. Our room was a tent style room which was comfortable and an enjoyable experience. The camp is in a beautiful, secluded spot. The dinner set up was great - when we came back from the safari drives there was a bar set up for our welcome back, and our table was set up for dinner so nicely with lots of lanterns and a fire, giving a fun and atmospheric environment. The camp is small with 5 tent rooms so the service was nice and personal.

SingaporeThe staff and service was what stands out the most, they do their best to ensure you are always safe and clean. It's on the expensive side but what you are paying for is the extensive knowledge of the guide on the safari which is missing in other places. We have both learnt a lot about different animals and behaviours on this safari and it's an experience that will stay with us forever

RussiaI would recommend to have sparkling wine in the wine menu. coming back frm the safary beeing in the hot its so nice to relax and drink cold champagne in the shadow Also, its better to have WiFi in the tent then in the lounge area.
our goal was to see visit Sri Lanka for the first tme in the life but not a traditional sea holidays we choose this lodge to see the local animals. wwe have got it 99%. so, the lodge provides very good comfort. The tent is spacious and has all you need is there the kitchen is local style but they are very flexible to adupt to personal needs (we can not eat spicy staff at all) the food looks simple decorated but very tasty (we are bit spoiled dining in gourmand resto but simple does not mean bad - and this is the case) we took 2 safaries - morning one and day one (they call it evening) and finally saw all excpt the bear. But thats the nature. We saw 3 leopards in the morning and thats was great the safary and management guide - Ashan - did a great job. Very efficient service - not too much, but just in the point. Big thatnks

BangladeshWould be great if there were some more camp activities. Maybe like a small playing ground, a dip pool, etc. might add more to make it worth the trip.
The camp managers and staff were excellent and made sure all our needs were met. The food was great and I got to try several new Sri Lankan dishes that I never tasted before. And the drive through the Safari parks that they organized were excellent.

AustraliaLeopard Trails was everything we could have hoped for from our first visit to Sri Lanka and the Wilpattu National Park. Malmi and the whole team went above and beyond to make this experience unforgettable. We particularly enjoyed the game drives in the park and Malmi and our driver took extra care to introduce us to the wonders of the park. We saw leopards, a sloth bear, deer and peacocks. The accommodation was very comfortable (including AC in the tents!) and the meals were terrific. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

AustraliaLeopard Trails was one of the highlight stays of our Sri Lankan vacation. Its glamping with a capital G, and very good value for money. Just a few km from the Wilpattu park entrance, we went on 2 safaris and of course saw Leopard, Sloth bear, elephant and a bunch of other species. But TBH it was the stay in this luxury camp, with its spacious safari style tent rooms, its wonderful staff and food that was amongst the best we had in Sri Lanka. I 100% recommend staying here.

My partner and I had a wonderful overnight stay here. Our tent was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We greatly enjoyed all of our meals. The staff were all very warm and friendly and the service was impeccable. In particular, we wish to thank Probar who was our host and guide on the game drives - he was very hospitable and had great knowledge of the local flora/fauna, and we really enjoyed our time with him. We loved the quiet / secluded location of the camp - you really felt like you were in the heart of nature. We went out on an afternoon game drive and an early morning game drive, which were both great experiences. A highly recommended place to stay if you are visting Wilpattu National Park.

RussiaThe price for the night is way off the actual benefits you receive. Safari is charged extra at a very expensive rate as well. All of the facilities are worn and in need of maintenance.
A place used to be ok at some point of time, but well in need of proper maintenance.

United StatesIts significantly overpriced with all sorts of additional (hidden) charges and fees which i dont think is fair given how much the room rate is. Compared to other places in Sri Lanka the value for money is really not good. Also be aware that there are no facilities whatsoever (no pool, lounge, library etc) so you either go on safari or sit in your tent the whole day. Again, I would expect a lot more given the price point.
Friendly staff and stylish, comfortable tents

United Arab EmiratesI was a little disappointed in the lack of activities offered, especially at this cost. As the venue is really isolated, it would be good to offer the guests activities at the venue. It really is just a stop over for safari in the national park. Apart from that, there is not much to do, especially for families with kids. I would recommend it only for a couple of nights stopover. I don't believe this venue is good value for money.
The property and tents are beautiful and the food is fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The setup at night is absolutely magical with fire and lamps everywhere.
