It was truly wonderful. The little wooden huts are great and instantly give you that holiday feeling. I can highly recommend the host for organizing tours, he knows a lot about the country and its history. He wasn’t just our host, but also explained so much during the tours we did with him. Definitely highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the bed is a bit too small and wobbly, so with every movement during the night you ended up waking up.

- Room: spacious and cozy, confortable bed - Garden: there’s a beautiful garden and a pool, we really enjoyed chilling there - Hosts: they have helped us a lot to arrange the transfer from the airport, elephant safari, even tuktuk for sightseeing. - Food: breakfast was delicious. Host’s grandma prepares Sri Lankan dinner every evening at request.

Lakhmal and his family have found a good balance between giving you a warm and welcoming familiar feeling, while still running the property in a very professional manner. Helpful staff Clean rooms Beds are absolutely great Breakfast is fresh Pool is nice

Wi-fi was bad in our cabin. E-sim also had no 4g in our cabin.

We had a great stay! The location is beautiful. The garden with the pool and the cottages is really superb and well maintained. The rooms are great. The breakfast is really nice with fresh fruit from the garden. We were sorry to stay only 2 nights. We had a very good massage just around the corner of the hotel.

An amazing place with even more amazing people! The surroundings are beautiful and well-maintained, the rooms are tidy, the pool is clean, and the food is absolutely delicious. The location is perfect both for walks and for getting around to nearby attractions. Lakmal helped organize our airport transfer as well as a wonderful safari trip to Kaudulla. The individual chalets A lovely pool Very friendly family run property, always attentive to our requests. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The welcome tea was just what was needed after a long journey. My daughter enjoyed playing with the family’s children.

The manager was incredibly warm and welcoming. The place itself is amazing—you can sit outside in the morning on comfy chairs, enjoy the greenery, and sip on some tea. What truly makes this place special is the property manager, who’s always ready to help and guide you with anything you need.

I felt the water pressure in the washroom could have been better, as the flow was weak.

The host Lakmal was very welcoming and kind. The property is beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. Liyon rest is a great place to stay if you’re in Sigriya!

Lakmal and his family were extremely friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us! The accommodation is set in a really relaxing landscape, it was also clean and comfortable.

What a nice place and run by such lovely people. Everything was arranged for us in terms of safari, tuk tuks, and highly recommended massages. The breakfast is very tasty homemade. The garden is beautiful and the pool a welcome refresher after a day out.

You need a small tuk tuk ride to the center of Sigiriya, it is half an hour walking along the road. But as mentioned a tuk tuk is easily arranged for you. So for us it was no problem at all. The only thing I liked a little less is that the curtains leave through a lot of light in the mornings. And the fan was a bit noisy. But both things were minor compared to the great stay we had!

It’s hard to find the right words to describe our stay in Sigiriya. It was our first experience in Sri Lanka, and Lakmal was the best welcome we could have asked for. He made us feel safe and at home, from the airport pickup to the days spent at his house, where we truly lacked nothing. He also gave us the best advice to explore the area, even waking up at dawn to take us around. And the food—my God—you must try his mother’s koththu roti! Lakmal, you should feel very proud of the place you’ve created, and keep being the amazing host that you are. We’ll recommend you to everyone visiting Sri Lanka!

Beautiful setting - the room was clean, comfortable and quiet at nighttime. The private cabanas really make you feel like you have your own space. Lakmal and his family were so warm, attentive and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were absolutely delicious. Lakmal was also able to facilitate a late check out for us and arrange our transfer to Negombo, which was so helpful. A five minute drive to Lion Rock, meaning it’s convenient to get there for sunrise. The pool area was also great for relaxing after the days activities and we got great use out of it!

This place felt like a calm little paradise for us! The well kept garden is more than beautiful, great to relax in the pool and the hosts were warm and kind. Don’t forget to visit Dila’s kitchen which is the loveliest home-restaurant just around the corner.

Liyon Rest is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms, garden and pool are lovely and the food is great. However, what makes this place truly standout is the owners who continually went above and beyond to make our stay here an absolute pleasure. If you’re visiting Sigiriya and Liyon Rest has space, book it - you’ll have a wonderful time.

Liyon Rest was an absolutely perfect choice for our stay. Lakmal and his family are incredibly welcoming and helpful hosts; they effortlessly arranged our Minneriya safari and all our tuk-tuk needs. The home-cooked meals (breakfasts, lunches, and dinners) were outstanding, and the papaya juice was a refreshing touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful property and its lovely pool. Highly recommended!
