This homestay is easily one of the most comfortable places I've stayed at. It was not only clean and safe, the interior was absolutely beautiful, too! The stay had all required amenities and toiletries, and also a fridge with beverages you can buy for a small additional cost. The area is peaceful and safe, and close to restaurants and the Dehiwala Zoo. The host, Rohan, is very hospitable. He also recommended restaurants and guided me about public transport, which I found very helpful.

Nothing. It was perfect.

The host was incredibly friendly and helpful with everything and the welcome was lovely. The room is exceptional, large and spotlessly clean, with bottled water and tea making facilities provided. It opens onto a pretty interior garden courtyard. The bathroom is totally unique with a designer shower made from natural stone. We were free to come and go as we pleased and we could not have asked for a better arrival in Colombo.

It was a serene and beautiful place which added more energy with grounded and gentle host. The nature rooted architecture and classic way of space arrangement made the days there so relax. Also we stayed for two purpose, to attend my husband’s exam then my brother’s marriage. For both these purposes, a space that gives us serene and calmness is sooo important. Lumbini home stay catered these needs 100%. If we are a nature enthusiast, who likes natural spaces …. We must live in the space of lumbini homestay where we could feel the roots and trees. So it is highly recommended for artists, students, and travelers who travel to create and relax.

Not a plethora of eating establishments within walking distance as far as I could know.

Beautiful home surrounded by greenery. Spacious room that's well appointed and comfortable bed, mini fridge et al. The owner Rohan is lovely, friendly and helpful. Getting to the centre by tuk tuk is adventurous 🤩

Nothing not to like.

Exceptional property. Clean, comfortable, convenient. Self-parking garage with easy access to the room. Good quality air condition and hot water. Wonderful ambiance. The place is tastefully appointed, with a lot of thought and attention to detail. The host, Mr. Rohan, is a gracious and kind host, and an excellent communicator. He exemplifies the best of Sri Lankan hospitality. All in all, couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thank you Mr Rohan!

Host Rohan was very kind hearted. LUMBINI home stay was very warm. Rohan gave us the walk through on checkin which made us comfortable and homely. Property was well maintained taken care of minutest thing required in the room, with great ambience. Property has proper parking facility with safety lock. Hotel Anna Lakshmi was our research during the visit to Mount Lavinia Beach, which served mouth watering and lip smacking dishes.

I loved their interior. It was so elegantly designed. Host is super helpful person. Very clean property. Comfortable mattress. Everything were perfect. Can't complain.

The property is a bit out of the ways (about 20 mins drive into the city center). I ended up spending a lot more on tuktuks because of this. The biggest issue here, however, was the cockroach infestation in the bathroom. To be fair, I didn’t bring it up to the host so he could fix the problem…but there was a can of spray in the restroom so I know they are aware of the issue. I saw about 10 roaches and honestly I debated finding a new accommodation but I didn’t budget for that so had to stay. I was very surprised with the high ratings and no mention of roaches in any of the reviews. I just felt uncomfortable the whole time because of this. There are a lot of ants that crawl onto the mattress at night as well.

The host was very kind and helpful. My flight was delayed by several hours so I didn’t arrive until the middle of the night, and he patiently waited up for me. The room was equipped with plenty of water and even had a mini fridge with other beverages for purchase.
