We had the top floor panoramic suite which came with a plunge pool however this was shared and located between the bottom floor suites so couldn't really access it and didn't feel part of our suite.

We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and stayed here for 5 nights of beach relaxation during our tour of sri lanka- we loved this hotel!! The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The location of the pool on the beach is amazing. I did the yoga sessions early every morning. We stayed in panoramic suite with great views of the sea and direct access to the beach. The beach is lovely with warm shallow water to swim.

We stayed at Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa for 8 nights and were 100% satisfied. The food was excellent, with plenty of variety - spicy local dishes, continental options, lots of seafood, fruits, and yummy desserts. It was easy to find kid-friendly meals, and the restaurant staff were top-notch. Our cottage was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with great soundproofing from top neighbors. Housekeeping was fast and flawless special thanks to Thasitha and Viraj for keeping everything spotless. The resort was peaceful and not too crowded. The pool was clean and well-designed for both kids and adults, with a nice bar nearby. The beach was beautiful and perfect for swimming in June. We also loved the kids’ animation. Richie, the animator, kept kids entertained with fun activities, giving parents time to relax. He was friendly, creative, and great to chat with. This was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in - clean, cozy, family-friendly, and well-managed. Highly recommended!

Value for money could be better.

Friendliness of staff, especially the head and entertainment made an extra effort to connect people. Setting around the pool, nice rooms, excellent food (we took the JP bbq)

Loved the seafood restaurant on the beach. Loved the beach. Pool was great too but the surround wood around the pool needs to be replaced by something else more sturdy and permanent.

The price of the buffet seemed high but the quality of food was good. The service at dinner seemed somewhat chaotic at times.

The room we booked overlooked directly out to the beach and sea. The view was ace and the 4 rooms in the group had access to a private plunge pool which was nice as it had more shade from the sun. The room was large and with a mezzanine for the kids beds there was plenty of room. The bathroom was large and the shower etc was very good. We had our own balcony looking out to the beach. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful. The sun bed arrangements on the beach seemed to be orchestrated well. The food served in the dinner or breakfast buffets was good. We also ate A la carte as the price was cheaper. Also eating from the beach bar menu saved money.

The only thing I would change would be to see more Sri Lankan food on the beach restaurant menu but seriously, nothing negative to say!

Maalu Maalu is an amazing place to stay as a family. The facilities are great, lovely spacious pool, stunning slice of beach, good food but the thing that stands out is the service. The staff are amazing, the kids loved it there and just got up in the morning and vanished into the pool or the games area, the hotel is well enclosed and is very safe. Special mentions to Ruben & Ruchi, both went above and beyond to make our stay that extra bit special. There are some really nice restaurants just outside of the hotel in case you want a change but the food at Maalu was very good & reasonably priced. Overall we loved it, our kids were very sad to leave!

At the end of our travels around Sri Lanka we arrived at Maalu Maalu to receive the most warm welcome from the staff. This place is great for pure relaxation. A huge thanks to all the staff, especially Richira “Ritchie” who entertained our son, he was warm, welcoming and brought a sense of fun to the resort, and to Rupan who looked after us during the day, we didn’t have to lift a finger. Super resort!

The location, rooms, staff, service, friendliness are all exceptional. The entertainment- beach volleyball / yoga / pool / etc were all great. The bar snacks and drinks by the pool are great value and high quality. The evening meals were always top drawer, with a great selection- beautifully served and cooked.

Welcoming staff. Hotel manager exceptional and attentive to guests. Staff were all lovely and smiling all the time. Our room was just on the edge of the beach. Pool was perfect - a really great size and never busy. Great for keeping fit and doing lengths!

The staff were great. The minute we walked in, we were greeted with a heartwarming welcome. They were always very attentive and helpful throughout the entire stay. The pool is amazing and the beach and ocean are just relaxing and marvelous. The food is also good as it has different varieties - some Sri Lankan food, some International Cuisine as well. I would like to also peraobally thank Thasneem. He was such a great member of the hotel staff, as the rest of them are as well! Highly recommend Maalu Maalu!

Everything! Accommodation was spacious and very clean too. Food was delicious and there was always so much to choose from too. The staff were exceptional and made our stay extra special. Everyone made sure we were looked after. The manager spoke to us all the time, making sure we had everything we needed. Special mention to Rupan, who made sure our sunbeds were ready for us every morning and went out of his way to make our stay very special We would totally recommend this wonderful hotel!

Exceptional stay in paradise! We had an unforgettable experience at Maalu Maalu Resort. The staff were incredibly kind and hospitable, always going the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The infinity pool and beach were absolutely stunning—perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Our room was a luxurious two-story cottage with a private pool, jacuzzi, and even a sauna. The spa treatments were top-notch; we enjoyed some of the best massages we’ve ever had. The food was delicious every day, with a great variety. One of the highlights of our stay was playing beach volleyball with other guests—it really added a fun, social touch. A special thanks to Ruchi, who truly made this trip magical. He treated our daughter like a princess, played with her, and made us feel like the hotel was our own home. He’s a rare gem who brought warmth and joy to our entire experience.
