We booked this hotel rather spontaneously due to some change of plans and because the area sounded amazing. I know it’s not on everyone’s route, and it’s quite a drive up there, but: The view from the pool area and from our room was absolutely gorgeous, not just at sundown but throughout the day. The owner organized a private tour for us, taking us to all the stunning viewpoints, with a personal driver - perfect for anyone who appreciates nature, lush green scenery and stunning lookouts. Would not want to have missed this on our trip through Sri Lanka! The staff was super attentive. And: On the day of our departure, we were treated to a spectacular breakfast spread. They prepared a feast of Sri Lankan specialties, enough to feed a whole family, and there were just two of us! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. They have really great tea, too and, fun fact, they serve the strong version of Lion Beer, which is a must-try! We also enjoyed a nice room upgrade during our stay. Beds were very comfy. For our next stop, they arranged a driver for a long journey. He was not technically part of the hotel staff, but wanted to mention that he was the sweetest person.

Very high standard hotel Excellent pool Hotel is located in a tea plantation with a lovely and relaxing view The rooms are very very clean. The food is delicious and very fresh. Everything is organized There is a lot to explore in the area. The staff and hotel manager are intelligent and nice people, happy to help with anything you need and all with a big smile. We had a birthday for our child The hotel helped us make him happy and feel good The hotel owner made an amazing cake that made our hearts happy. We didn't have tea or coffee and the electric kettle in the room. We would would prefer if we had a chair in the room too.

The staff weren't able to handle the huge crowd, cause of all the people staying cause of Christmas, therefore the staff weren't able unable to give customers the best experience out there, but still worth the price.

The variety of food from local to western was really nice to see as a local most of these places do not cater to our taste, very worth price, the location might be a little awkward to reach, but is worth it.

There was nothing that I could think of that needed improving.

The hotel is located in a scenic spot in the middle of a small tea estate. The surrounding views are spectacular. The staff were so helpful and the food was absolutely amazing! They set up the ping pong table for us and drove us to the beautiful Sembuwaththa lake. Well worth a visit if you love nature, hiking through tea estates and Sri Lankan food.

Unfortunately there was no wifi due to the location, but the owner is hoping to get this happening soon. Sometimes there were difficulties with communicating with staff due to the language barrier, but we appreciated that all staff were trying hard to be helpful.

This hotel is located in a tea plantation. We stayed in a very well-appointed room with a balcony. The views were breathtaking. The bathroom was enormous and very clean. We enjoyed a dip in the infinity pool, which also took in spectacular views. We took the half board package and really enjoyed the meals. As we were there a couple of nights we tried the Chinese and the western menus. Both were great. The chef checked after each meal to ensure we were satisfied.

Our stay at Nelinsa Resort and Spa was a delightful experience. The Very humble owner and staff were incredibly welcoming, the meals were delicious, and the atmosphere was serene and captivating. Every aspect of our stay felt like excellent value for money.

We hired vehicle and driver on two occasions, the first tour was fine, but on the second occasion the car broke down as it overheated and we ended up having to find another van to take us to our destination. It also rained for the majority of our trip which was a shame as it meant we were not able to enjoy the area as much as hoped.

Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. We enjoyed having the balconies and the swimming pool was great. The waiting staff were also very kind and a special effort was made with fireworks and a buffet at New Year.

It would be best to discuss your booking charges before arrival and double-confirmed it. Had a little discussion about the booking.com price vs the actual charge price. Remember to ask for all-inclusive prices with VAT and service charges.

The hotel's buffet was a delightful array of simple dishes and incredibly flavorful. Their clever use of various spices highlighted the aroma and taste.

We stayed three days but the rooms were not cleaned while we were staying there. Informed them to clean on the first day as we were going out for sight seeing but didn't happen. No sign board to indicate that we need a room clean up too. The phones are not connected so you have to go to the reception to talk to them for any supplies or for ordering anything. Bathroom supplies or room water bottles were not refilled. a big miss was a kettle in the room. They serve with beverages but phone is not working so that you need to walk to the reception. I would have liked to use the pool as shown on advertised photos thought it was a pretty good one. But it is not more than 4 feet deep and people are served with hard liquor just at the pool so this is basically a party pool and not to swim. We were at room 101 and 102 and the sunset view is the best thing you enjoy from those rooms. However, 2/3 of the view is ruined by the roof of reception hall just down below our rooms. Bad design. Also the heat and reflection of the sun hurts if you are there in the day time.

The helpful attitude of the staff and good food (especially Kottu) is the biggest asset they have. There is a lady and a gent called Lakshman. You must talk to them if you need anything or having any concern. They are experienced and will deliver what you need. Others are new and somehow the communication is dropped. But highlight is that they are so determined to serve and improve. The hotel was fully booked as we were there on X- Mas day. Many of staff had been recruited just couple of days before and there were human mistakes and coordination issues. However, overall they did a superb job including X- Mas night live music and fireworks and serving superb food options for the price charged. The place is closer to few attractions around including one tree hill which can be seen from the hotel.
