We were there during the off season. The staff was very friendly and ready to help, very good people. The hotel had a very good pool. The view was excellent.

The owner, Bianca, is lovely and very helpful. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach and offers a great range of beach chairs/loungers/beds etc. The swimming pool is clean and partially in the shade - great to enjoy in the midday sun. The sea is clear and warm, being a surf beach it is rough with strong currents, beautiful when you get pass the waves.

Lovely bathroom but no shelves or rails at all. No bar or restaurant as such but could order from kitchen.(could do with menus!) Breakfast fine but would hve been nice to include juice.

Location right on beach. Lovely pool area with nice sunbeds and comfy furniture. Staff very helpful and friendly.Nothing too much trouble.Tuktuk on site readily available for trips to town. Room clean and freshly paited. Kettle, fridge and hairdryer provided but have to take or buy own water,coffee/tea,milk.

1. No coffee maker or kettle(available upon request) in the room. No coffee/tea supplies. Need to walk to the kitchen area and order drinks. 2. No television. 3. No phones in the room to call the front desk. Have to walk down to the front desk or use personal phone. 4. Internet/wifi signals is spotty and almost non existent in some parts of the building. One corner of the building near the road has strong signals. 5. Front desk is open during the day and closes for the night. The manager lives in the next room. If there is an emergency then we need to knock on the door for assistance. 6. No lift/elevator to the upper floors. 7. not completely sound proof rooms. On the last night, there was a beach party on the beach for tourists right in front of hotel. The music was loud and was blaring from 7 pm to 6 am in the morning. Did not get to sleep well. This happens once or twice a year it seems and not in the same place. 8. The blinds/curtains cannot darken the room, outside light filters in. 9. The balcony is outside the room in the common area. The windows are facing the common corridor and so no privacy. The curtain needs to be drawn all the time. 10. The rooms are sparsely decorated if at all. One had sliding glass door for entry and the others wood doors, I think.

Located on the beach. A nice pool. The breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff were very nice and helpful. A small boutique hotel run by family members. Ms. Priyanka who manages this place has plans to renovate the place in the future. If she makes simple changes as indicated in what I didn't like below then the rating could increase to 8 or even 9. Each room, we stayed in three, are basic rooms with minimum essential furniture- a bed, a desk, a small sofa or a chair, a closet/cupboard for clothes and a safe deposit box. Some rooms had a small refrigerator. The rooms are small and comfortable for two.

The location is amazing. Right on the beach. Breakfast is served near the pool, facing the beach. It is a lovely experience. Very kind staff, Edgar was so sweet. Bianca, the owner's daughter took really good care of us and is a wonderful host. Our room was a corner, sea-facing room and a good size, bathroom was huge. As you walk on the beach, there are many restaurants to try. The town is 10 mins by tuk tuk, about LKR 500.

On arrival we were told there were no credit card facilities and we had to pay cash. We had a three night stay, this drained our cash supply. When we questioned the manager, she was rude and unhelpful. The internet was slow or non existent and it took 24 hours to get it fixed The bathroom has a terrible smell, especially in the mornings. The linen was thread bare. Disappointing!

We were really pleased with our stay at the Nico beach hotel as it is a fabulous hotel, modern and with all the facilities needed. It is ideally situated for visiting the many sights. also it is just closed to the beach where we had so much fun in the evening. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially the owner who were very friendly and helpful. We had our dinner which was delicious. Highly recommended 💚

Unable to pay by credit card and not stated on booking.com. Staff stated several times credit card machine not working!! Price did not include any toiletries in bathroom, it should have. Only had lunch one day and did not receive the food ordered

The distance from town was well advertised, so not a surprise and nice and quiet, but we would have liked to be slightly nearer to some cafes & juice bars

The distance from the town meant the beach was quiet and felt almost private. The pool is beautifully clean, and the sunbeds looking out to the sea is so lovely. We really liked the outside dining and the staff were absolutely lovely. They went out of their way to make our visit special.
