Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandAn absolutely unique place – perfect for relaxing and discovering the beauty of Sri Lanka! Our stay at this hotel was one of the best experiences of our trip. Above all, the location – overlooking the tea hills, surrounded by peace and greenery. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The balcony overlooking the sunrise – a dream! The service – simply world-class. The staff were polite, helpful, and always smiling. We felt truly cared for. The breakfasts were delicious – fresh fruit, local dishes, and aromatic tea from the surrounding plantations. An additional plus for the eco-friendly approach – the hotel reduces plastic use, cares about the environment, and supports the local community. This is appreciated! I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of Sri Lanka while also enjoying a top-quality holiday. We will gladly return!

Good views. Out of town so more peaceful but would need tuk tuk to get into town (800 rupees each way). Generous breakfast and lovely staff.

MalaysiaThe room itself is very basic, located on a steep hill. The walking trail to the nine arch bridge is extremely exhausting. Even travel by tuk tuk or car is kinda challenging.
Breakfast was good. The view from the balcony is to die for, especially the stunning sea of clouds in the early morning. Hosts were friendly and helpful when we arrived at late night, soaking in the rain. Wish to stay for an extra night though. Really worth for the penny you paid.

SlovakiaWe stayed at this hotel on a hill, offering an incredible view of the Nine Arch Bridge from the room and balcony. The location is definitely a highlight, making for a unique and scenic stay. The room was well-decorated, and the shower, although a bit weak, had a window, which was a nice touch. However, the bedroom had a slight musty smell, likely due to the large windows that couldn’t be opened. The only ventilation came from two doors in the room, which made it difficult to air out at night without the risk of insects or animals getting in. Breakfast was served on the balcony, allowing us to enjoy the stunning view while eating. We especially appreciated the fresh green tea, which was a lovely touch. The hotel also helped us arrange a tuk-tuk to visit a tea factory, which was convenient since using PickMe or Uber in Ella can be challenging. Overall, while the view and experience were memorable, some improvements in room ventilation and shower pressure would make the stay even better.

United Kingdomcould have hand soap and more shower gel
We stayed here for 2 nights, we shortened our stay to add on the national park last minute. We were here on our honeymoon and they decorated the room for us! The view was amazing we had the view of the bridge and it was a 10 minute walk to the bridge- made for lovely photos. They had a tuk tuk which was cheaper than local ones, and we did a tea plantation tour. Bathroom was basic with a good shower and very clean, but the bedroom was comfortable with a kettle fridge etc. breakfast had an egg and local option with some fruit & juice (fresh). Their dog was lovely and playful. As we did one less day they gave us a refund for breakfast which was kind of them.

GermanyWe loved the stay! After a very bad start with a really bad hotel experience we found this beautiful accommodation close to the famous 9 Arches Bridge, which you can see from the terrace when you have breakfast. Stunning view! The hosts were amazing and helpful. The lady called the police to make sure if we can start our drone from the balcony. The breakfast was the best we had during our Sri Lanka trip. The room was clean, the bed was comfy & we totally enjoyed the stay. Thank you both so much & cuddles to Nikki (the sweet Labradore!)

United Kingdom2 little downsides: quite steep and rather high climb to the hotel (but you can always get tuk-tuk obviously) and the furniture in the room wasn’t that modern.
