New ZealandWe absolutely loved our stay here. Firstly, the location can't be beaten - right next to the station so perfect for us as we arrived and departed by train. Our room was really spacious and extremely comfortable. A huge thanks to our room boy, Sajanthan, who kept our room spotlessy clean and greeted us with a smile every day. The pool area was lovely and a good spot for cooling off after a hot day. The food for breakfast and in the restaurant was delicious- you must try the Jaffna crab curry.. All the staff were amazing- so welcoming, friendly and kind, they treated us like family. Many thanks to all the waiting staff in the bar and restaurant, especially the ones who made our fabulous arrack cocktails for us! I highly recommend this hotel. Book it -you will not regret it!

⸻ We spent two nights at Jetwing North in Jaffna and had a truly wonderful stay. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly — they really made a difference in our experience. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, offering an authentic taste of Jaffna cuisine. You could truly feel the essence of the local flavors in every dish. This unique culinary experience is something tourists will definitely appreciate and enjoy. Please continue in this direction — it beautifully showcases the richness of Jaffna’s food culture. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the railway station, the city center, and the Nallur Temple, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Highly recommended!

GermanyThe rooms are very thinly soundproof. You can hear everything that happens in the hallways. The music in the wedding hall was so loud that you could hear it in our room, too.
All staff were very friendly, helpful, warm, and accommodating—from the reception to the room boy to the restaurant. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Our room boy, A. Sajanthan, was the best we've ever had. He anticipated our every need. The food was the highlight for us. We had a traditional Jaffna-style buffet as well as international dishes that we could order à la carte. No matter what we ordered, everything was delicious. Many thanks to the kitchen team. The service staff in the restaurant and bar were also very friendly. The staff always try to please you. No matter how busy and stressful the restaurant was, they always served us with a smile and never lost their composure. Our sincere thanks go to the catering staff: Pavithira, Sasiram, Kayana, Subaram, Elamaram, Kajeepan, and Rusanth. And finally, a special thank you to the managers Gobi and Sam, who were incredibly kind and made sure everything was perfect. We will definitely return to North Gate next year. Thank you again for everything.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Northgate in Jaffna during my visit to northern Sri Lanka, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality that set the tone for the rest of my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with directions, recommendations, and any requests I had. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering all the basic amenities like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and hot water — which is essential in Jaffna's tropical climate. I particularly appreciated the peaceful ambiance, making it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights was the in-house restaurant. The local Jaffna cuisine served was absolutely delicious — spicy, flavorful, and authentic. I highly recommend trying the Jaffna crab curry if it’s available. The location was ideal — close enough to key attractions like Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, Jaffna Fort, and the public market, yet tucked away enough to avoid city noise. Overall, my stay in Jaffna was memorable, thanks in large part to this hotel. Whether you're visiting for the culture, history, or just to experience a different side of Sri Lanka, this hotel offers a comfortable and welcoming base.

CanadaWhat an absolutely beautiful and memorable experience it was for myself and my family, staying here at North Gate Hotel on our recent trip to Jaffna! The staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and kind, from those at the reception desk, to the restaurant, to housekeeping -- I am so grateful we chose this hotel, which in our opinion was the best we experienced on the whole island. We felt so safe and taken care of. Thank you especially to Tharsikan at the restaurant, who was such a friendly face to see every evening, when we came down for meals and evening tea/coffee. He was so wonderful and thoughtful! Also thank you to Kabilraj for catering our our various dietary and allergy needs, while still making sure our whole family got to enjoy tasty meals! We had such an amazing time at NorthGate. The highlight of our stay was our interactions with the staff. Kabilraj was amazing in catering to me with my meals with all of my allergies and making sure I was able to enjoy my meal., Thariskan was so sweet and made sure we were served with care and always checked in to make sure that we got everything we needed. Gobi made sure to accommodate us in all our complicated check-in and check-out process, he also assisted with helping us book and find other accommodations at the other cities that we are staying. Kowshi was so sweet and made sure we were comfortable in our rooms and consistently ensured that we were taken care of when we forgot our keys in our rooms or anything else we needed. Above all, these individuals catered to us and cared for us like we were family and all the while did it with smiles.
