Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The service was excellent – friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Everything was well arranged and made my stay enjoyable. Safe place and very near to Nilaveli Beach. I truly appreciated the warm hospitality and would definitely recommend Pearl Inn Green to anyone looking for a great experience.

SerbiaStaying here was such a lovely experience! The hosts are genuinely warm and helpful, always making sure you feel at home. The cabanas are simple yet comfortable – perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet, with the added charm of village life all around. You might hear the early morning prayers from the nearby mosques, which adds a touch of local atmosphere. Breakfast ($2) and dinner ($3) are delicious and homemade, and they also offer laundry service ($3/kg) – very convenient! The rooms are bug-free with sealed windows, and at night you can watch bats swooping gracefully above the cabanas. The beach is just a 15-minute walk or a quick $1 tuk-tuk ride away. Nilaveli itself is a small, authentic village with plenty of local eateries, while Trincomalee (25 minutes away, about $10 by tuk-tuk) is the place to go for shopping. You can easily book rides with PickMe or simply ask the hosts to arrange a driver. It’s a wonderful spot if you’re looking to slow down, enjoy the simple life, and experience the real Sri Lanka. 🌸

With our three kids we had a wonderful time here. Niro and Fernando are very welcoming and helpful. They prepare delicious food, they even prepared a huge fish wich was caught by our son. Most of all we appreciated the atmosphere of common humanity and connection. We hope to come back some day!

PolandI stayed there together with my mom. It was the best stay during our trip in Sri Lanka. The room is simple, but there is everything you need. The most important is the hospitality of the hosts! They took care of us, we felt safe, everything we needed or wanted they helped us or arranged. Food is also very good and prices are really reasonable and you can eat as much as you need! 1000% recommend

NetherlandsIt's a bit further to walk to the closest bigger kind of beach restaurant such as Vibration (half an hour), but easy to reach with a 10 minute tuktuk.
Very friendly and helpful staff (good English speaking, great and relaxed atmosphere. We were there as a couple but it's great for families too. Rooms are basic but aircon was good and big comfy beds. Perfect for a cabin close to the beach.

ItalyNice traditional breakfast. If you want to have dinner you can tell the owner your preferences and needs. He will arrange something to satisfy everybody and make all guests happy. He also organised a nice trip to the pigeon island taking care of everything necessary. We wish we could stay longer.

United KingdomWe stayed in the little bungalows, which were simple but very charming and cozy, and came with A/C to keep things comfortable at night. The whole place has a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere—just perfect for unwinding and truly disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Fernando, who manages the property (alongside his lovely cat Whiskers), went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. He was always around for a friendly chat or to help with anything we needed, but never in an intrusive way. His kindness and warm hospitality really made our stay special. One evening, he even prepared a delicious home-cooked meal for us, which we really appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed. The sea is just a short five-minute walk away, and the beach is beautiful—calm, pretty clean, and never crowded, even on weekends. Most locals tend to gather in a designated swimming area, where the water is secured, so the rest of the beach stays quiet and peaceful. There’s also a good diving school right at the beach entrance for those looking to explore underwater. Along the way and right by the shore, you’ll find a handful of relaxed, welcoming restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialties. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, warm, and relaxing place to stay. Thank you, Fernando, for everything—we hope to come back soon!

AustraliaThe property is beautiful and has real tropical vibes. So close to in my opinion the most beautiful part of Nilaveli Beach. Fernando our host was helpful and enthusiastic. Made us fresh juice and helped us arrange transport and tours based on our budget. He even showed us the quickest way to get to beach. The area is quiet and homely with just the beach, tropical vibes, local people roaming cows and small cafés restaurants.

Sri LankaDuring my stay I was the only guest, could be a little bit more fun, during high Saison, but 100 % a cute getaway to recharge. Thank you!
Fernando was very helpful! He showed me the way to the beach, was talkative and cooked a typical dinner for me -delicious! ;) The cabanas are with AC. The Interieur is practical, simple but also enough. It took me 10 min. to the beach by foot.

United KingdomThe WiFi did not work, which for me is important due to work commitments. The location is hard to find from the main road, signage from the road would help tuk tuk drivers and taxis navigate to the property. Do ask the cost of breakfast before ordering, we were charged (quite a lot, very good value at the cafes on the beach) different amounts on different days. This along with someone (not manager on site) telling me to cancel one room prior to arrival via this site left me feeling something with the pricing was amiss.
Well appointed rooms, clean and spacious.
