I stayed one night at RC Awkward in Nuwara Eliya. The property was clean, comfortable, and had a hot shower—perfect for the chilly nights. Rajith, the host, was kind, accommodating, and reliable. He offered a car lift to explore the tea plantations and prepared a delicious breakfast.

We loved the style of the apartment, It's modern, has character, is well equipped and perfectly clean. The rooms are well sized and there is a comfortable common area. Breakfast was wonderful. The host is indescribably welcoming, helpful, friendly, forthcoming, always there for questions and an amazing musician as well! Thank you for the great time!

The location was very good, near the gregory lake and not too far from the city. Rajit (the host) was amazing and very friendly. Loved the breakfast.

The room was clean and equipped with blankets, which was great because it sometimes got a bit chilly. The breakfasts were very good, and Rajith is a very kind and helpful person – it was a pleasure talking with him. There's a bus stop right next to the property, which makes it easy to get to the city center. I definitely recommend this place!

Radjit made us feel very welcome! He was super friendly and he deserves a big 10! The room was nice and cozy with a small shared living room. He is building a nice new bungalow, which is going to be amazing! Definately recommend to stay with Radjit. Real value for money!!

Very good stay! The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable! Rajith is so friendly and helpful. Rajith even drove us to Kampagola for the Pekoe trail! We had delicious breakfast every morning.

Its a bit further from the center, but there are enough tuktuks that can easily bring you, so for us it was no problem at al! Or the walk alongside the lake to the center is beautiful.

Very friendly host, gave us lots of valuable tips for our stay and sightseeing. Flat with cute living room, comfortable beds + extra blankets if it was chilly at night (it was :) ).

The kitchen could be more guest-friendly (there was a bit of chaos)

The host was incredibly helpful, assisting us with arranging everything we wanted to experience in the area. The room was comfortable, and overall, it was a fantastic stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for excellent service and a memorable experience!

The accommodation is about 3.5 km from the city. If you're not into adventurous walks, you might need to be driven, but we enjoyed walking there—it was a great experience for us.

We loved our stay at RC AWKWARD, Rajith and his family were warm and welcoming. We slept really well, it was very homely, good shower, theres games/books in the communal area. It was all clean and well kept. Breakfast was great and our dietary needs for vegan catering were understood. Rajith couldn't do enough to help us, he was kind and honest. If we go back to Nuwara Eliya we will be staying here or in RC Quirky House (I think that's what it's called) which Rajith was nearly finished having built when we stayed. There are stairs upto the rooms so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Thank you Rajith and your family for your kindness and hospitality.

Quieter side of the city but close to the lake. Rajith’s place was welcoming and spotless. Room upstairs with private outside bathroom had all amenities needed for a lovely relaxing stay. Lovely little decorative touches and a beautifully maintained garden. So quiet at night. Breakfast was plentiful and perfect - especially the little banana pancakes. Rajith was a very engaging warm hearted person who is so talented with his music, teaching and quirky homestay building!!. He gave us lots of information on what to do and where to go - walk to Lovers leap waterfall through scenic tea plantations was lovely. Rajith also sorted out a tuk tuk for our morning train to Ella which was very much appreciated. If you come to Nuwara Elia - definitely come and stay at RC Awkward - best value and hospitality by miles.

Amazing stay here, everything very clean and the people are amazing! Rajith did everything he could to make it a perfect stay. We heard that a Dutch couple played the Dutch game “Beverbende” with him and he loved it. We gave our Beverbende game to him, he was very happy!

An absolutely delightful stay, our host Rajith and his family went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. His suggestions to places we should check out and trek to were spot on. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and if you're planning on a trek you can request for an early breakfast. We highly recommend this place. We had a large room and the bathroom was outside the room but It was absolutely fine and comfortable. Thanks again Rajith and your family for your hospitality.
