Nothing it was perfect

The location was great to see turtles and lovely beach but hard to find. Owners very welcoming and even picked me up after hearing I’d had trouble with tuk tuk to property. He also drove me down to beach very kind. Room was very comfortable great size. Had a lovely dinner and b/fast

Very nice host, and great breakfast and dinner. The turtle beach is very recommandable! Just 5min per foot and you can see baby turtles hatching

We really enjoyed our stay, everything was perfect. The house is very close to the most beautiful beach we've ever seen. On the beach, we could is see turtles in their natural environment. We were served amazing breakfasts - everyday they were different! It was an amazing stay! Thank you!

The Room: - clean, spacious, beautiful, quiet, great air con, comfortable bed & linen, surrounded by nature, peaceful, hot shower, a space to hang your clothes, plenty of bedside table & floor space. The Villa: - beautifully designed with shells and plants lining the path, bar & seating/dining area - mosquito coils provided upon request, as well as fans being readily available in seating/dining area - upstairs private seating; definitely recommend sitting here for breakfast and listening to the various birds whilst the palms sway in the breeze The Service: - can’t thank Sachi & his father enough for the 24/7 support that they offer. Every time we were greeted with a smile and radiant positivity. They took our requests on board and made them happen (things like a mango for breakfast instead of other fruits, or a 1/2 chicken for dinner when it isn’t on the menu). They were so wonderful that we extended for 6 nights. They made us feel at home and for that we are so grateful.

Beautiful house with 3 rooms in the middle of nowhere and 3 minutes walk away from Rekawa beach. Best breakfast I've had in my Sri Lanka trip. I had room with a/c and hot water. Staff super helpful and helped to arrange bike rental. Can only recommend.

Our stay at this accommodation was absolutely perfect! The hosts were incredibly helpful and greeted us with a delicious welcome drink. The breakfast was fresh and very tasty, and the food at the restaurant was also excellent. The nearby beach is easily accessible, and if you’re lucky, you can even watch sea turtles laying their eggs in the evening – an unforgettable experience! All in all, a wonderful stay that truly enriched our trip to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

Very authentic hotel with super hosts. Wonderful breakfast and dinner and the rooms are great with good air conditioning. Amazing to just walk to the beach after dinner and see turtles egg laying and returning to the ocean.

We really love this place if we are staying on our holidays we will choose this accomodation once more. This accomodation has many benefits like very close beach (200m), very nice and helpful staff, very rich breakfast pancakes, fruits and toasts. This place is famous for night turtle egg laying excursions. The room was very clean and the therase was amazing.

Maybe there could be less furnitures/ or optimised furnitures to have more free space. As many places in Sri Lanka you can't have dark in the room.

Everything (except one fan that needed to be fixed but that was ok) was working there! The owners and his sons were helpful, trying their best to make us confortables. They provides us many tools for the kitchen, cleaned the rooms twice, adapt the breakfast to our wishes. And in the same time they are discreet. It was clean and confortable and nice. Close to the beach, restaurants, many animals in the neighbourhood.

This hotel was perfect for us really. The room was very good, very clean, with beautiful terrace, view to the garden. We saw lots of peacocks here in the garden. The food was amazing. The breakfast was very delicious, and the dinner was freshly cooked and amazing. Very peaceful, relaxing place. The family is very helpful, nice, friendly. Thank you ❤️

Loved everything , but as budget no tea/ coffee in room , or hair dryer but can always ask for it on own terrace. !

The owner and his son Setie and nephew Hiro who run Turtle Gate were so lovely, friendly and very helpful. The accommodation is a home stay with only a few rooms so very personal. It is one of the cheapest places we stayed, so not huge rooms but everything you need with a sweet terrace outside the rooms looking onto a well kept garden. It is 3 minutes from Rekawa beach an amazing beautiful empty beach where we watched turtles lay eggs under the watchful eye of a Ranger so it's very well managed. The ranger doesn't let you close until the turtle has finished digging chambers for the eggs and only when she is laying does he shine the red light for us to see. It was amazing as we saw 2 different turtles ( 8 pm). The hotel had amazing food , a seafood restaurant,one of the best rice and curry and sea food we had in Sri Lanka , all home cooked and different dishes each night. The situation of the hotel, homestay was so idyllic and quiet, real solitude. The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable and took us to the beach to meet up with ranger. We loved this place and would recommend it if you want a lovely family experience with everything you need. Thank you Turtle Gate hotel. X
