Clean, quiet place with nice green surroundings. Very friendly family managing the homestay. Felt warm and welcome. Great value for the money.

It's a steep climb from the main road. Tuktuk's are not able to make it, so you'll have to do it by foot.

Lovely peaceful little spot close to the centre of Ella. We stayed in the top room with mezzanine level and balcony overlooking the jungle and beyond. The home cooked food was delicious and the host super friendly. Kids LOVED it.

It’s very high up so the balcony is not suitable for really young kids or kids who like to climb! It’s up a super steep road but seems like most places in Ella are unless you want to be on the main drag.

This home stay is in a peaceful part of Ella, tucked up a side street about 10 minutes walk from the main Ella streets. Ella is busy but the home stay is in a quieter location which suited us. The owner was helpful with booking transport and letting us leave our bags in her house after check out. It’s about a 30 minute walk to Nine Arches Bridge. The rooms were clean.

A lovely stay just a couple of minutes from Ella’s main street. Quiet surroundings, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The family was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

If you're arriving by minivan be aware of the steep and tricky driveway. The family room is a bit small.

A fabulous location to Ella centre. A lovely kind host and the family apartment we were in was so clean. The views considering so central were gorgeous. The garden and property well maintained. Yes a little steep path to walk back but this is totally normal for being in Ella.

The whole homestay is nestled in a very green and full of nature area. The room had a full size bed and a small mezzanine level bed. The beds were comfortable. It had a wonderful view of the area. The room itself had modern furniture and fixtures. It was spacious and loved its balcony. The hosts are wonderful and friendly, happy to guide you and attend to any needs you may have. It is beautifully landscaped and decorated. There was no noise from the town or from neighbouring guests. Really quite and peaceful to stay here. They have a private tuktuk that can bring you in and out of town on a much cheaper rate than local tuktuks.

If you have an elderly guest with you, this may not be suitable as there were about 20 stairway steps to the room. The homestay is on a hill and tuktuk charged 400-500 rupees one way from the homestay to the town even though its less than 2 minutes journey. The proximity to nature does invite a few bugs in despite your best attempt. But the proper use of mosquito net will prevent them from intruding on your bed.

Nice garden for a kid to hang out.

Mosquitos even with a net that was not sufficient. Make sure to bring your repellent. Loud music from the city. Everything was still damp, but this is due to local climate. The apartment would deserve some upgrade.

Comfortable large bed with a good quality mosquito net. Very nice breakfast and friendly host. Birds and other wildlife around the property. Lovely balcony and chairs for sitting out there and enjoying the ambiance. Very pleasant place to be.

It was raining both nights we stayed and getting to restaurants down the steep, rough roads wasn’t great (then back up). Lucky I had my head torch.

A Peaceful, Family-Friendly Stay Surrounded by Nature We had a wonderful stay here as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children aged 8 and 12). The accommodation was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The master bed was large and comfortable, complete with a mosquito net (though the net could fall down if pulled too hard). A lovely bonus was the separate mezzanine level with an additional double bed and net — perfect for the kids! There are several accommodations nearby, but we chose this one specifically because of the added bonus of the mezzanine, which gave us extra space and a bit of fun for the children. The room doesn’t have air conditioning, but the two fans were more than sufficient. It also included helpful amenities like a fridge, cooking facilities, a hairdryer, and a comfortable seating area. The fridge was a bit noisy at night, so we ended up unplugging it in the evenings. The shower had hot running water (just a short wait for it to warm up), and the WiFi was hit or miss — slow even with two hubs. The view from the room was a beautiful canopy of greenery, creating a peaceful little oasis filled with amazing wildlife. Being woken up by birdsong was lovely. In the evening, the noise from nearby restaurants and bars could be heard, but a good pair of earplugs helped block it out for sleep. The accommodation is set just off the main road — a bit of a steep walk (which might be tricky for those with limited mobility), but it’s only about 10 minutes into the center. The owners were warm and welcoming, and they cooked us delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts over two days — definitely worth trying if you get the chance! We also booked a tour through them to Yala National Park, which was well-organised and reasonably priced compared to other quotes we received. They do offer a laundry service, though we didn’t use it. Overall, a lovely stay with personal touches and a great base to explore the area — we’d be happy to return!

Internet was hit and miss, slow at times

Amazingly clean. By far the best place we stayed in the whole country (and we stayed in 9 different guesthouses, most costing far more). Our cottage was so cute, with its own balcony and a swiing in the garden. Lovely flowers and plants - all near and tidy. It was a quiet, heavenly escape! Yet still close enough to the action. You may read in other reviews about the "steep" road up to Rest Full. We two 50+ year old, out of shape ladies managed just fine, walking slowly and chatting. Not a problem at all. And tuk-tuks made it up fine too. We took a tuk-tuk tour to the Diyaluma waterfall, with the owner in his immaculately kept vehicle. It was a great outing, as he knew where to take us for a great local guide to walk us up and afterwards a tasty lunch cooked by the family (local and not touristy). I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, lovely people, for the great experience.

    All was perfect.

Very comfortable, Room was mostly clean and good for families. however, when you stay longer than one or two nights you might miss a place to put your stuff (no hangers, hooks, shelves or anything). Short but steep climb from the center but easily doable with the tuktuk or walking. Room. We enjoyed our stay!
