Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I stayed two days at this hotel and had a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. I appreciated the convenient location and good service. Would recommend for a short stay or weekend getaway.

Shaun the hotel manager gave such attentive care throughout the short stay, always one call away and the housekeeper Shiva was such a nice guy, delivering service on time as such a 5 star service, coming from a hotelier this is proper Colombo city hotel treatment, kudos to the entire team, the food was amazing as well!

Wonderful Stay – Clean, Friendly & Helpful! I had a fantastic stay at this guest house! The rooms were spotlessly clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and always willing to assist. Everything was well-maintained, and I felt truly at home during my stay. I had an early checkout at 4 AM, and the owner kindly woke up at that hour to assist me, which I deeply appreciated. I highly recommend this place and would love to visit again!

The room was seems like what they showed in the picture..All the facilities were fantastic.. storage facilities also available in good manners.. Staffs were very friendly and the manager was awesome.. Internet speed was high.. Bathroom was Very comfortable and cleaned... And the other thing that we unexpected the terrace view was very cool and romantic in night also good in day time..Overall The Hotel was a simply super luxurious And we enjoyed our stay🫰😍🔥

The staff was very friendly and professional. There's a supermarket (Super K) nearby (at a walking distance) as well, which I really liked in terms of the location. The restaurant at Hotel Rosenro is open until midnight which is also a big advantage, specially for the ones who have late night dinners like me XD. A very safe place hence can be highly recommended to the solo travelers just like me.

The only little thing was that there was a small leak in the bathroom, coming from underneath the shower cabin, but it was ok.
Staff is exceptional! Really polite, friendly and helpful (give us some cutlery and adaptor for charging). The room was ok, it was clean and decent for the price.
