Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The greatest owner. Offered bicycle, picked me up a few times, and told about sights and the place for eating. In total, it's a very good place for its cost Thanks for the great owner!!

AustraliaThe property is some distance away from the town centre. Appears to be an issue with the damp course proofing of the building, although this is not really a major concern once the fan is turned on for air circulation. Being in the tropics, there are insects and mosquitos. But this is the same everywhere - unless you book into a much more expensive accommodation. So come prepared with insect repellant, and use the mosquito net if one is provided.
Bike available for rent at low cost to tour the temples which are only a short ride away. Owner was very helpful. Owner has a tuk tuk to visit the temples some distance away at reasonable cost, if required. As always, check and agree on the price beforehand. This is more a guesthouse than a hotel, so you are sharing the accommodation and experience of the property owner. If luxury and comfort is what you're after, then you'll need to book into a much more expensive accommodation.

Portugal- The property is far from city center and going there is not an easy task as the path is very dark. - There is no cell reception which makes things harder. - We didn't find restaurants in walking distance so if you don't have a method of transportation it is hard to go to the city center. - The bathroom is shared between the rooms and was not clean. - Would not recommend for a woman alone.
- Good quietly/price ratio - The room was small but very conformable - There was a cute dog :D - The owner helped us with the Tuktuk problem we had. - Good for a one/two day stay and with a method of transportation.

NetherlandsThe beds are very uncomfortable, mattresses are very thin. We had a lot of ants in the room and the bed, so we had to shake our sheets and put on the mosquito net right away. It was cheap, but we also had other stays for almost the same price per night and with way better amenities.
Nice location in the old town, close walking distance to temples and a local food restaurant. The owner is very friendly and welcomed us with a handmade juice.

Peaceful area, located between two lakes. Close to many of the old sites and only 5km from the new town. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the manager went out of his way to show us local gems and happily dropped us off and collected us from various locations.Best of all you can hire bikes for 800lkr/day and cruise around - definitely the best way to see Anuradhapura. New ZealandSome of the reviews on Google are awful but I found my experience to be fine. I was the only person staying and I never really enjoy this when I'm traveling alone, but the host was nice and accommodating and drove me into town on the back of his bike for dinner for no charge. Location-wise it wasn't ideal for me, although you can hire bicycles from the guesthouse for 800LKR/day, and you can get around by bike pretty easily. I found the location too isolated for a solo traveller, and when I cycled back after sunset about ten dogs chased me down a dark path which was a little unnerving. You are basically sleeping right out in the jungle and can hear all the jungle sounds, this may be a positive or a negative depending on what you like! I wore earplugs but before I put them in I could definitely hear lots of animal sounds and scratching. If you had your own transport this might be quite an ideal location. The host also has a tuktuk, he took me to my next destination in this and charged about 20% more than Pickme (after bartering the price down). Well located to access the temples and historical sites, as well as close to the lake for sunset, just a bit isolated for me! Shared bathroom was fine, hot shower was great, no complaints. Room had a fan and a mosquito net.

You can rent bike for visit the near places and the owner has tuk tuk for drop you to all places with cheap price. The owner is very good and happy person. He managed me safari in Wilpattu National Park, and I could see a wild Leopard... This place is for travelers. This place is not for luxury tourist.

SwitzerlandThe Name "City resort" is not properly chosen as its quite far from the City. Brema would take you there and pick up for 600LKr. In the room was a very bad smell which gave me a headache the whole next day. That's why we cancelled the 2nd night there.
Brema, the host is such a lovely person. He even texted before arrival if he can pick us up somewhere. He did our laundry over night. You could store drinks or food in a fridge. The room was okay, towel available. Brema offers Taxi Service as well which was really cool.
