This is a family owned and managed homestay. The facilities are a little older but well maintained. We really liked having the Pool in front of our terrace and access to the beach was no more than 50 meters. The owner arranged for laundry service and took care of all out requests. No dinner service was offered but there are numerous exceptional beach resturants within a 10 to 20 minute walk. We highly recommend this homestay.

The only draw back was the canal directly next to the property. Depending on the wind direction it would smell of sewage occassionally.

Monica and her parents are such lovely hosts who do everything to make you happy. The beach villa, the rooms, and most of all the pool are great! Breakfast is lovely and served on a nice terrace. And the beach right in front of the property with nice restaurants in walking distance. What else could you wish for!

We stayed here on our way back to the airport. The room we booked turned out to be a spacious clean apartment. The apartment is near the seafront and there is also a pool that was great in the evenings. The beach is nice, It is quiet and a bit vibeless but that didn't matter as we were on our way home and we found other delights in the area such as the amazing huge Buddha on a bright pink lotus and a beautiful temple. Unfortunately, the aircon did not work but this was sorted out by Monika as best and quickly as she could. The arrangements for that were a bit tricky but we worked it out in the end.

I like dogs so the barking dogs on the property were not an issue but if you are not a dog fan that could be tricky. It's a walled and gated property, the only stay like this we had in Sri Lanka. I was not too keen on that but that is just my personal opinion.

Location on the beach, Monica was lovey. Beds comfortable. Large space. Lovely large pool & nice garden.

Not enough sun loungers, no toiletries, never got room cleaned in 5 days. Kitchen/lounge area in penthouse too hot to use as no air conditioning.

Quite successful location with access to the sea... The pool is clean, beautiful....

Why keep a few dogs , that bark when you enter the yard?? probably to show who is the owner....)))....not to offer a refrigerator in the room? that's what you have to be able to do.... The noise from the air conditioner is similar to the train.... The beach is phenomenal but extremely dirty (I don't understand why the locals don't get together once in a while to clean it....how can you be so lazy and irresponsible...? Breakfast 😁🤦‍♂️- one egg - Mrs. Monica, one egg is probably too much, offer half a piece instead....))) ....

We stayed in the budget room which is totally fine for the affordable price we paid. The breakfast was very good. Monica and her parents are great hosts and really know how to make their guests feel at home. Staying at Sagarika Beach Hotel is a truly authentic experience when in Morogalla.

A great value stay in a charming hotel with a beautiful garden and large swimming pool . The property has beach access and is very close to restaurants. If you want to go anywhere beyond the beach Monika (who is super helpful) can help arrange a tuk tuk.

Very good and quiet location, by the sea! Amazing host Sagarika 🙏, her care for us and our comfort was 100%. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. There was no air conditioning in the one room, so the host gave us another separate apartment with air conditioning. Fantastic! The location was great, the beach was nearby, there were sunbeds. It's perfect for an August holiday as there are not many holidaymakers hanging around, the beaches are empty ( just be aware that they are not being cleaned at the moment so there is definitely litter) but the restaurants and bars are open. Prices, like in Europe:))) There is an excellent ayurvedic massage centre nearby, I highly recommend it, also a surfing school. Totally we had a great holiday👍

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the breakfast. We paid a lot for it - 10$ per person per day in my opinion, but it was really tasty and made with love, so it didn't spoil the overall emotion😊

The location of the property is excellent. On the beach itself. The pool is clean and big enough for a swim and leisure. It’s a peaceful place to unwind and be away from traffic and noise. Trees and greenery surrounds you. Sagarika is a perfect host.

Amazing value for money. Clean, comfy, great breakfast, very spacious rooms, balconies, I had too much choice as to where to do my yoga practices! Four towels in case you shower a lot ;) Very easy check-in and communication, it’s a family run property and the main host Sagarita is just the sweetest person, really going out of her way for you to make your stay an out of this world experience. I felt very cocooned and in the same time enjoyed my privacy, but Sagarita is always available to help, which makes things easy (from ordering a Tuk-Tuk to take-away and so much more, fluent English and even speaks German) Amazing sea and garden views, the long sandy beach borders at the property’s garden! Pool is lovely to cool off in late afternoon and you are surrounded by tropical birds including peacocks. Speedy fibre Wifi in case you need to get stuff done (just in top room you might not have access, I just used my Sri Lankan phone data.) Everywhere else WiFi is super fast, the apartments are amazing as well, for solo travelers, couples or even a small family. When you snooze off at night lying in the large comfortable beds you hear the sound of the ocean.. what a magical place.

    Everything was fabulous, really.

It was our second visit to Sagarika. We love the location on the beach and being able to walk along the beach to restaurants serving great value meals including local fresh fish. The family who own and run the hotel are very friendly and helpful and make everyone very welcome. Breakfasts are delicious and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel garden attracts many local birds including peacocks which are great to see. A lovely place to stay in a sunny safe and friendly country that really needs more tourists. Highly recommend.

Not a criticism of the property of course, but mosquitoes are always about in the evening so mosquito nets and deterrents are needed.
