Great little guest house, lovely staff, nice room, the light on our balcony was broken and they fixed it straight away which was much appreciated. Great location aswell and lovely dogs

kind host, nice style rooms

no hot water, really loud, its like there is no walls between the rooms. There is no drying machine so it can take up to several days until you get the dry chlothes.

Staff were so lovely and friendly - welcomed us with drinks and were always on hand if we needed anything. The two dogs Milo and Bingo were super cute and loved cuddles!

Our room was basically a shed… The walls are made of wooden panels and the roof is a tin. The pictures are a little bit deceiving tbh. We kept getting ants and spiders in the room which wasn’t nice. We could hear everything all night - people in the room next door, people in the houses around, dogs barking all night. For the price we paid, could’ve been in a different home stay which included breakfast too. It got very hot in the room even with the ceiling fan. It’s a shame because the family are so nice and lovely but this was not worth the price.

I mainly stayed in the area for the whale watching tour so this hotel is perfectly located for this due to the early start of the tours. The room was so cute and felt I keeping with the vibe of Mirissa. The lady behind the check in desk was oh so friendly, the welcoming smile and just genuine kindness makes such a difference when staying in a foreign country! I am so happy I picked salty fish

We loved it there! We spended 9 nights there and going to be spend 4 more and the and of our travel. Nilanthi (the mom of the owner) was there and super nice and helpful. Awesome breakfast! And easy with the laundry service and scooter renting... We will come back! Thank you for everything!

Beautiful location, lovely owner, beautiful puppies to greet you. Perfect for a few days! Our key broke, and the owner was really responsive and organised to get it fixed quickly.

Our stay at salty fish was really good considering how affordable this place is. The location is good, only a 10-15 minute walk from Mirissa beach, 10 minute from secret beach and 10 minute from a big supermarket. The ladies at salty fish were really friendly and helpful and we also loved the 2 dogs that live there, real cuties :) thanks for having us!

The bathroom could be improved (looks and smell), but as I mentioned before, for this price I was not expecting much

I really enjoyed staying in the Salty Fish. The rooms are super nicely decorated with a couple of plants to make you feel at home. The staff helps you with anything and Mylo and Sally, the Salty Dogs, provide affection if needed. Highly recommended.

Be carful for the cockroaches

The hosts were exceptional- so friendly and accommodating. Air con was great and nice shower. close to whale watching Harbour- which was ideal for an early start!

Amazing place to stay, cutest family that hosts the place with the most lovely dogs that are super friendly, clean and cozy rooms, Sweet Café in Front, good located, they managed a scooter very fast for us to use and we also used the laundry service. They helped us out where they could! Thank you very much 💖🐈‍⬛ would always come back. See you!

The room with the balcony was beautiful! Such a fun beach vibe type place, and really nice views. There is a cafe attached to the hotel, and the staff there (who also help with the rooms) were incredibly friendly. Maybe the nicest people I've met in Sri Lanka! They were quick to solve any issues and give suggestions on what to do and where to go. Could not have been nicer.

Can't fault the hotel for this as I knowingly booked a non AC room, but the heat was brutal. The fan was good but it was not enough. I was starting to suffer from heat exhaustion on my third day here. The location is perfect for Whale Watching (right next to the harbour), but it's a 5-10 minute walk away from the main street where most things are. Doesn't seem far, but in the heat, it is. There was a bit of an ant problem in my room.
