This accommodation absolutely exceeded my expectations. Room with a beautiful view of the mountains with sunrise, comfortable furniture on the terrace, beds beautifully made, clean. Incredibly kind staff provided everything we wanted, including transportation for trips. But the best thing was the breakfast, varied, very tasty, a full table of food. I highly recommend it and would be happy to return.

Superb view from the terrace, with the sunrise right in front for early risers. Clean room, large and comfortable bathroom. Very attentive staff. Dinner and local breakfast were exceptional. A bit outside the city, which makes it very quiet and peaceful.

Not a bad thing, bit good to know: The hotel is located on the hill just outside Ella. Takes about 10 minutes by TukTuk to go to Ella downtown.

Lovely small hotel / homestay with very friendly staff. Breakfast was served with a great view on the Ella villa. The owner took us for a trip to the usual landmarks and to a great Sri Lankan rice & curry restaurant. We stayed in the family room, which was clean and with great private balcony with “million-dollar view”.

Honestly can’t think of anything

The views are to die for, if your room faces the mountain and you have comfy chairs and settee to relax on the balcony should you want to and listen to the cacophony of wildlife below. Mosquito nets were standard (first hotel where they have been) so really happy not to have to find some way of hooking up our own. Quiet location but easy access by tuk tuk or taxi into Ella. Food for breakfast was really delicious with good Sri Lankan options. Best breakfast we’ve had throughout our 3week trip Staff are super friendly and helpful. WiFi good Tea making facilities in the room

Property didn't have an elevator so carrying bags up two or three floors can be tiring for both the guests and the staff who kindly helped us.

The location is absolutely stunning - right in the middle of nature and breathtaking mountain view from balcony of the room. Rooms are super spacious. The balcony was a highlight — large, with chairs, a bean bag, and a coffee table. It was the perfect spot to relax and soak in the views.

The location is out of Ella and up a long steep hill - not walkable but easily accessible by car / tuk tuk, but only c. LKR 600 - 1,000 (£2.50!) and well worth it for the views!

The views were spectacular. Saw plenty of trains on the track in the valley beneath. The staff were fabulously attentive & friendly, nothing too much trouble. The food was cooked fresh & delicious. The bed was very comfortable (firm).

Sun on the terrace in the early morning was a little strong and this wonderful place is a bit up the hill from town. However, tuk tuks are very affordable in town and we would stay at this place again in a heartbeat. Things were SO great, they really set a high standard.

The view of the valley below was phenomenal. The staff were so kind and pleasant to be around. And the breakfasts, best we’ve had in the country and they came with our accommodation. This was my family’s favorite place we’ve stayed in 2 weeks across the country, and so affordable.

The view was fantastic, you can meet the sun every day of your stay. We liked breakfast, service and your room very much. No insects, no problems. Be ready to travel to main part of Ella by tuk-tuk or walking downstairs to railway tracks.

The accommodation with wonderful mountain view.sitting on the balcony in the morning view sunrise and enjoying sound of monkeys and birds. Breakfast was delicious and tasty.one night we had dinner made by one of brothers noodles and fried rice were delicious. Hotel staff are really attentive and helpful with everything you need. Beautiful place and highly recommend A beautiful lodge near Ella Rock Mountain.Rooms with beautiful views that we never imagined possible.The room we stayed in was air-conditioned and had a large balcony. It had all the amenities you need.you can see the morning sunrise this balcony. The host Mr Gayan was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.friendly staff.Ruban was welcomed us very well.the entire team was friendly,kind,supportive and always ready to help. They have a tuk tuk and taxi.they help us to visit both places with their tuk tuk.They came to pick us up as soon as we got off the train. There is a small restaurant there. You can get any food you like.breakfast was delicious and very tasty and large. I must stay, the sucess of our retreat was in large part thanks Mr Gayan and Ruban, their amazing team and the wonderful experience at Shining Green View......

The view from our room balcony was spectacular. The feeling of being wrapped around by nature was lovely. The staff always with a warm Sri Lankan smile was very helpful as well as Gayan who was polite and made sure we were comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again without any hesitation. It was really nice to wake up to the quiet nature after the night outs we had in Ella town.

We didn't love the bathroom, it had really dark blue lights so it was hard to get ready in the mornings sometimes i.e do makeup

Breakfast in the treetops was fantastic. The host family were incredible; so kind and genuinely lovely, they really looked after us.
