We had a wonderful stay in Sigiriya. The family who runs the place is extremely kind and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and helping us with everything we needed. The room was well equipped with air conditioning and mosquito nets, which made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, prepared with great care. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay if you want to enjoy Sigiriya with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

It’s not much but the shower head is not very stable so we put water all over the bathroom (there is a squeegee so we could clean after) And it is very hot during the day but also during the night, be prepared not to have a/c but a fan

We loved everything about our stay, the hosts are the nicest people we’ve met in Sri Lanka, they went above and beyond to help us, they organised every visit that we wanted to do for a really fair price. The food was homemade and amazing, so flavourful and tasty. The room was big, perfectly cleaned and there is hot water in the shower.

This place was well above expectations! For the price we paid, it was an amazing steal! The host family is so lovely and helped give us recommendations on what to do in Sigiriya and even helped book our safari (which we highly recommend). Good hot shower, lovely breakfast, close to busy area of town.

The host family was super sweet and helpful when deciding what to visit. The breakfast is delicious and they have a tuk tuk service that takes you wherever you need. I hope we can visit again when they finnish the new cabin of the homestay!

Location is down a long unpaved road with no light at night, so a Tuk is recommended if you come home late. But that’s barely an issue at all.

Extremely helpful and hospitable hosts! They helped us book safari, transport to Lions Rock and a taxi to our next hotel - and even prepared a nice local breakfast on our last day. They are building a fantastic new cabana which future travelers will love to visit!

It was a bit more expensive compared to other stays we had in Sri Lanka, but the room was clean and big so it doesn’t really matter!

We really liked our stay at Sigiri Tarushan Home Stay, we had the private room, with a bathroom which were clean and quite spacious. Especially the owner made our stay really great she checked us for a little up prize early in because our flight arrived early in the morning and gave us some good advice! She was so nice and arranged everything we needed. Perfect for the first/ last days in Sri Lanka near the airport (15 minutes drive).

The host family made us feel very homey and was always helpful. We had lots of chats with different members of the family, especially with one of the sons. The room was basic, but clean and tidy. Facilities were in good condition and the bed comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was rich and we ate dinner twice at the home stay (you can request any Sri Lankan meal for ~LKR 3000 for 2pax). Even a last minute/late request for dinner when a tropical downpour prevented us from leaving the property was accommodated! We organized the elephant sunrise safari through the homestay and received a breakfast package + water before departure at 6am, however cheaper options are available in town.

The property is towards the edge of Sigiriya and down a track, so little bit out of the way, but not a long walk and absolutely worth it!

The family were so friendly and helpful, giving us lots of advice and recommendations, and helping us book things (like our elephant safari, which was amazing!) Their home was beautiful and leafy. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious!

I am rating this property more on the impression then personal experience because, sadly, it rained so heavily during my stay that the roof started leaking and got the entire bathroom and parts of the bedroom wet and I could not enjoy the beautiful balcony and garden at all. Still, I could easily see that in a more stable season the place is a true paradise. As others mention, the breakfast is regal. Please note that the house is about 30-minute walk from the main restaurant/bar area but the isolation is the best part of it, in addition to the lovely host family.

The family are the nicest we meet on our whole trip through Sri Lanka. Inoka serves delicious breakfasts and dinners and takes care of everything. Her husband drives a tuk-tuk if you want to visit the sights. The sons helping with planing and all the family members are cute and smiling. You can also hire a scooter and there is a laundry service. All in one place and in beautiful surroundings.

This homestay was the best! The owners brought me to a nice restaurant and woke up verrrry early to bring me to Pidurangala Rock. They also arranged a taxi to Negombo for me. I've been there for only 15 hours or so, but they really made it memorable. It's very peaceful and quiet at night too

The lush garden makes you feel like you are in a jungle retreat. We felt right at home. It was so nice to just come home to a delicious home cooked meal every day! Despite the rain my family had a fantastic stay in Sigiriya!

The family are so kind and helpful - they gave us great advice on what to do around Sigiriya. They have a tuktuk and drove us to Pidurangala rock and back for sunrise for a good price (2000Rs). The breakfast was lovely and they gave us a fresh juice too when we arrived. Very cute dog too!!

The room smelled really bad of damp mould. Perhaps if there were fly nets on the windows and doors you could leave open for ventilation. But without its not possible, the second I opened the door a giant huntsman was in running along the floor. The other thing was the price of the tuktuk, they will offer to take you at 5am for your hike but then it’s 2000lkr! It literally is 5 minutes away. Plus 400lkr for tea before you go. I forgot to check around on pick me that morning to see but I’m pretty certain you could grab a tuktuk for less. They were everywhere at 5am.

The location is perfect, 5 minute walk into the town and 5 minutes to Lions rock and Pidgurangala. Hosts were really nice people, breakfast was okay. Room was nice apart from the smell. A bit tired and worn. However it was 9€ a night so for the price it was great!
