Beautiful location; a bit secluded but not a problem to get to via tuktuk. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The host Muda was so helpful and attentive and she cooked some of the most amazing food we had had on our trip!

It's a very quiet place with Lske View, actually an Island in the Paradise. Excellent food. Very nice, sympathetic and helpful owner.

Beautiful location right at the lake. Ideally for swimming, kayaking, chilling, ... A real little paradise. Very friendly and helpful host family. And delicious food! Breakfast and dinner on the little boat/ponton, surrounded by the lake, jungle, birds singing, .. . Spectacular!!! We also adivice the seven hour safari tour with the host. He has a big knowledge about the wildlife and knows the best spots to spot elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, peacocks, birds, .... Next time we will definitively stay longer to be able to relax and chill next to, in and on the lake! Thank you for the wonderful stay!!! Stuti

Exceptional everything, location is amazingly peaceful right on a lake you can swim in, great safari, a/c room and I have to say the best meal I think I've ever eaten! Ridiculously cheap too

Excellent staff and breakfast! They organized a safari for us which we can also highly recommend! The area is beautiful and you can borrow bicycles to explore the area. For my birthday they even decorated and the dinner was excellent as well.

We stayed the night before our safari and loved it here. The hosts were very friendly and informed us that you can swim in the lake. They also provided breakfast and dinner which was delicious and not spicy for anyone who struggles. There’s a sweet dog too.

Bathroom was a bit cramped and an overhead hot shower was not possible (only hand held hose). A small thing but strimming the grass at breakfast ruined the ambience a bit, so perhaps this could be done at a more thoughtful time? Mosquito net could also be better placed towards centre of the bed - I would wake up with it draped over my feet and legs Finally please reconsider adding a random service charge to the bill. It’s very odd after a room rate - explicitly inclusive of all taxes and charges - has already been agreed through booking.com. If it was for the 1500rp dinner, 200rp is an odd number as this would be a service charge of 13.33%. I’m glad the husband waived this when I asked what it was for, but I shouldn’t have had to ask. I’d not experienced this anywhere else in Sri Lanka and I’ve stayed in 6 different places, from hotels and villas to family homestays.

The bedroom was nicely presented, very clean and with a good balcony view of the lake. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked very well. The dinner was delicious so I highly recommend you try it. Very much worth the 1500rp. Flavourful, a big portion and a superb range of dishes, even with my vegetarian and non-spicy request. Location by the lake is pleasant and I appreciated the advice about the local bus to Tangelle which you can walk 10 minutes to. There seem to be activities on the lake that I think families would enjoy, in addition to safari options which I didn’t try.

The family who runs the lodge is lovely. Also, we had really really tasty food there. We did the safari with the owner of the lodge and it was really great. We saw lots of elephants and other animals. The rooms are clean but basic. Price/value is very good but don’t expect a luxury hotel.

The place was beautiful even without the lake with wáter enough to swim. The room was very confortable and had a private balcony with nice views. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. We did the safary tour with the owner and we loved It, he really knows the place, and is very good at spotting small animals like lizards and birds.We saw many elephants, some of them very close! It was fantastic... Highly recomended It!

The hotel is in a quiet and wonderfully idyllic location on a small lake. The room was equipped with everything you need. It was clean and had a balcony with a view of the lake. The warm couple who run the hotel were always friendly, helpful and accommodating. The landlord himself offers high quality safaris, it was a wonderful experience, including a lovingly prepared breakfast in the national park. All wishes regarding transportation, travel tips and extra requests were fulfilled immediately. Another highlight was the incredibly delicious dinner cooked especially for us by the lady of the house, which we were served on the floating platform on the lake. The garden is wonderful. We would come back at any time

This is a very romantic place on the lake side. The owner built a pontoon on the lake and you can have dinner there. It is very nice and quiet. The lady cooked very good beakfast and dinner and her husband drives a safary jeep so we had a full day safari in Udawalawe National Park. Amazing experience!!! Go there!

We only spend one night here to do the morning safari. The room was simple and basic, but fine for one night. The property is beautifully located at a lake, great for a refreshing swim! We could get delicious rice and curry for dinner at the house as well. We went for the morning safari with the host and had a great time, he was very attentive to our wishes, a safe and skilled driver and very respectful of nature and the animals in the park. We highly recommend!

We loved the Lake surroundings and being able to eat next to and swim in the lake. The host was very attentive without being around too much. We could also book and go on a Jeep safari to the National Park directly with him. The safari was fantastic- we saw so many elephants. The room and shower was great for our needs- air con, fan, good bathroom, nice beds. We would have stayed longer if we had had more time. Highly recommended

Beautiful location on a small lake, great food, very friendly and helpful owners, small but clean rooms. And the owner Samantha is providing the best safari tours at Udawalawe National Park. Book an all-day tour with him, you will not regret it. We met many tourists doing a 4h tour starting in the early morning who haven’t seen a single elephant. We started later, but took our time and went deep into the park. At the end of the day we saw more than 50 elephants, 5 crocodiles and many other animals.

I was welcomed warmly by Ms. Mudi, she gave me some suggestions about what I could do close by, and later cooked the best Sri Lankan dinner I've had here. The breakfast was also good. The owner also took me on a safari, and gave a fair price. The room was spacious and clean, and plus points there was hot water and AC. I came because of a recommendation from a friend, and would definitely recommend the place to others in the future.

We stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon safari experience at Udawalawe national park with the host, who was both knowledgeable of the park and respectful of the animals which we appreciated. The room was clean and the dinner and breakfast provided were delicious. The lodge is set on a lake which offered another opportunity to spot the amazing local wildlife in the morning before we headed off.

Very nice homestay with delicous food and very kind and friendly staff. Safari Tour will be organized too, so easy stay and comfortable option. They will help you with everything you need, further transport etc.

Very nice place for doing a Safari. The host provided a great Safari just for us two and managed to show us the animals and nice places a bit of from the most other Safari groups. We enjoyed a sundowner beer on the balcony and a delicious breakfast in the garden at the lake. The hosts were really friendly. We had the a room with a balcony which we would recommend.

The House next to the river is beautiful! It's clean and you have AC in your room. The Family is so friendly and help you with everything! They organised a wonderfull Safari for me! They speaking good english and you can learn a lot about the animals and plants. They will cooking good and as much as you can eat Sri Lankan food for you, you can choose your dinner, no problem if you are vegetarien! I really enjoyed my stay and can highly recommend!

The hosts were awesome. They are a married couple, the wife runs the hotel and provides lovely breakfast whereas the man does the safari. We arrived on very short notice but they still organized a safari for us the next morning. The safari is definitely recommendable. We got a full day safari with more than the usual showing of elephants but also a lot of explanations about birds, plants, crocodiles and a lot more for a reasonable price.
