Everything was perfect! The host with his family and staff was so kind to us and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We only stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to stay a little longer. The swimming pool was clean and a nice temperature, the food was delicious and made with love. The view on the lake was so beautiful. This was the best room we got during our 28 days stay in Sri Lanka. It was very clean, the shower was good and it was nicely designed. Extra compliments for the owner, the family and the staff! They were smiling all the time. We can't thank them enough for our experience

Every element of the experience at Splendour was exceptional from the classy modern design, the contemporary nature-themed artwork to the stunning setting with beautiful views of the lake. The owners are very special people who dedicate themselves to making your stay the best it can be. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food of all cuisines was of a high quality particularly the Sri Lankan food. All of the local activities were organised for us. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the serenity. But the real treat here is the hospitality extended by the owners and staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble and our needs were often anticipated. We feel very fortunate to have stayed here with memories that will last a lifetime. A unique experience of Sri Lanka that should not to be missed. 11/10!

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere was cozy, everything was clean and comfortable — truly a place where you can relax and enjoy every moment. What made our experience especially memorable were the amazing hosts. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. He went above and beyond to fulfill all our requests and personally organized fascinating excursions that added a special charm to our trip. It was clear that he genuinely cared about making our stay perfect, and thanks to his efforts, we felt completely at ease and well taken care of throughout the whole vacation. We would love to come back again and will definitely recommend this place to all our friends and family!

We arrived here in the night and in the middle of the only storm we experienced in our fortnight in Sri Lanka. This is a very special family run place in the most formidable grand design style building with stunning architecture. Waking up to Sri Lanka with this view was an unforgettable experience. The room was vast. The warmth of the family was palpable. We were coming from a business trip so I left a suitcase here for two weeks. They checked in with me regularly and I knew my things were totally safe. Thank you for such a special introduction to a very special trip :)

One of the highlights of my stay was the food – absolutely delicious! Every meal was prepared with care, using fresh ingredients, and the flavors were simply amazing. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything exceeded expectations. What truly sets this place apart is the warm and friendly hospitality of the owners. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always ready to assist with anything you need. Everything was perfect.

We’ve been visiting Sri Lanka with our family for many years, but very few places have impressed us as much as Splendour Residence. Sure, there might be some minor imperfections here and there – but they’re completely outweighed by how smoothly everything runs and how exceptional the guest care is. The staff is absolutely fantastic – from the owner to every single member of the team. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Our little daughter received such lovely attention and care, and it made the whole stay even more special for us. The food was excellent, and the surroundings – both indoor and outdoor – were beautiful. There is a clear emphasis on space and comfort throughout the property, which we truly appreciated. The entire hotel feels well-thought-out, peaceful, and harmonious. I sometimes give a 10/10 rating on Booking, even when a place has a few flaws that are balanced by other strengths. But Splendour Residence deserves more than just a perfect score. If I could rate it higher, I absolutely would. We even changed our travel plans just to stay a little longer – that’s how much we loved it here. And if we ever return to Sri Lanka, there’s no doubt – we’ll be coming back here.

Absolutely spectacular views over Madu Lake and utterly peaceful. It’s a modern and very spacious design which sits inconspicuously in the landscape. The owners are so lovely and our Sri Lankan curry was the best we had in our month in Sri Lanka.

Room, hotel, hosts, food. The food was very tasty 😋 The rooms were very large. A million dollar view from the rooms. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. The hotel and the gardens are very beautiful.

Beautifull, wonderfully quiet hotel with spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms and a fabulous view from the windows to the lake. The staff and hotel owners are wonderful people - very friendly, kind and helpful. They satisfied all our wishes 🙂 They even cooked food according to our request, which was not on the menu. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful 😋 We would very much like to come back here again and recommend it to friends 👍

Beautiful artistic building (inside and outside) in a even more beautiful scenery looking out over the lake. Turned out that the owner is also chef, and a great one. The food, the service, the views, the pool, the terrace, the rooms and all the personal artwork scattered around the hotel is amazing. Don't hesitate, book this place. You will love it.

The location! The splendour is the right name, because immediately you feel “Wow” when you enter this family owned residence.

Google maps sent us the wrong way, but luckily there was a sign on the road how to get there.

Amazing service, fantastic 180 degres view from our room over the lake and small Islands, birdlife & monkeys in treetops while enjoying lovely breakfast on the platform in the tree top. Wow

Everything fine

One of the best places that we stayed as a Family of 3. Amazing views from the room. Huge Bathroom. Owners are very kind and very simple truly amazing people. Need to mentioned also about Rice and curry that we had for our Lunch was out of this world, and the shrimps that we had for our dinner one of the best shrimp with garlic that we ever had.

Fruits served at the breakfast was not good at all and the juice as well. Other than that Nothing else.

We had an amazing stay! Thanks you so much to Niroshan and the staff for taking care of us. We really felt homely here and will definitely coming back to stay longer.

Only issue for us was the aircon being too loud for us to sleep, but the room being too warm for it to be off.

The place is absolutely outstanding! They are very helpful and also that I spent only one night there, they were carrying very much for me! For the breakfast they asked me, what I wanted it was very generous and excellent. The rooms are very big, well equipped and very very clean! I met also the owner and his family, which told me about the story of the hotel … but this I’ll not tell you, go to visit it

Food and hospitality were excellent. The top floor room was spacious with amazing views over the lake.

There was loud music for long periods on 2 separate days from a neighbouring property, and noise throughout one night from another property. There was a problem with excessive flys around food at breakfast and around the pool, something I had not encountered at any other hotels in Sri Lanka.

The staff was truly a highlight to my trip, the amount of kindness and hospitality was above the chart, very smooth process and professional attitude, the lady and owner of the hotel were available all the time. Rooms are big and modern, service is available all the time.
