Reviews of Sri Bhavan Ella

The ladies really look after you, great sized room, fan is all you need. Right near railway line away from noisy town but 5 min walk. Really recommend staying here a few nights.

The apartment is in a quiet spot, just a short walk from the center of Elle and about 5 minutes from the train station (right along the tracks). There are some nice bars and restaurants nearby. The staff was super friendly.

The host lady is extremely nice. We had to leave early and she prepared breakfast for us. We had a very good stay

Great sized bedroom and bathroom. Location a short walk across the railway tracks and you’re in the city. The lady offered coffee everyday and kept everywhere very clean.

It’s down a narrow steep hill if coming by car/tuktuk so consider this is you have a lot of luggage

Really nice place. Owners were super fiednly and helpful. Very close to Ella, but thankfully not too close to the very busy main street. Also easy to get to the train station and fun to walk down the train tracks to get there. The owner helped us with our heavy bags which went above and beyond inmy opinion. Breakfast was delicious.

The location is lovely, away from the city but close enough if you take the shortcut. Immerse in nature. The owner is really kind and helpful. Love the outside area where you can enjoy some relaxing downtime.

Quiet place with a delicious breakfast. The owner doesn’t speak well English, but she’s super helpful. We had a warm welcome. Super easy to walk over there through the train track. Love Ella city !

The fan is a great add, but without a timer on.

The lady was so sweet and lovely, and made amazing breakfast and gave good travel recommendations. The place is nice and quiet, and very close to the street with all the restaurants and shops (2 minutes walk over the train tracks). Great spacious room with a warm shower.

I was alone, and the walk over the train tracks at night is pitch black, but as it's only 2 minutes it wasn't so bad, just make sure you have a flashlight. There were quite a lot of dead ants, but the lady sweeped them away every day.

Nice place just above the train tracks (was not an issue for us, there are not that many trains and none during the night), which made for a fast trip to the main road. Very close to many many restaurants and shops, cooking classes and so on. The host is an elderly woman which is super nice and makes great breakfast (she even noticed us not being big on papayas and from that day on we got pineapple). Very accommodating.

Overall, the place was nice (no aircon, but we had fans), but our room had an issue with ants (the host explained and cleaned our room daily, so it was ok for us), as they covered the floor (dead ants basically). They were harmless but just be aware of the fact. The other room did not have any issues whatsoever!

I loved EVERYTHING about this place. The location is perfect, it's only a 5 minute walk from the town center (you walk on the train tracks to get there which is super cool!) but it's far enough that it's very peaceful! The owner is a wonderful kind hearted lady who is helpful in every way and makes delicious Sri Lankan breakfast! The room was clean, well maintained, has a mosquito net, hot water, toilet paper, towels provided, a fan (AC is not needed in Ella), and GREAT WIFI. It's also walking distance from the train station itself. I will be staying here anytime I come to Ella in the future. 100/10 Recommend this place especially for solo female travelers!

Perfect location and owner. Beautiful view from the terrace, excellent breakfast. The room has everything you need. I was surprised by the hot water because in Sri Lanka it does not happen often.

A little bit dirty.

We enjoyed our stay very much. You can reach the city centre in 5 minutes on foot. However, you have to walk along the railway tracks. But that's not a big deal. And the trains pass right in front of the accommodation. But even that was not that bad than we had imagined. The owner was very nice and helpful. She made us tea and coffee and did our laundry. She always baked something different for breakfast.

The accommodation is very simply furnished and a little old-fashioned. It smells a bit strange in the area, as there is a rubbish dump nearby.

Very nice family runs hostel. Nice breakfast, big and clean room. Beautifull view from room. At night very quiet.

In shower there was no hot water and there was ants. Railway is going just in front of hostel, so train wake you up early every morning. You need 10min up and down walk to town centre.

The most caring host I have come across on my trip to Sri Lanka. She packed morning breakfast for my early morning train to Kandy. I felt very touched by her warmness and hospitality.
