Had an amazing stay in suriya guest. The staff, food and rooms were faultless. Rooms were even nicer in person. My favourite place I stayed while travelling Sri Lanka.

The property is wonderful. The staff are exceptional. The location is easy walking distance to the town sights. The room was big, very comfortable with stocked minibar and couch, big bathroom, comfortable bed. The shower was lovely water pressure and hot. The hotel had lovely common areas and fireplaces. Breakfast was good, ours was included in our booking cost and was less in quantity than other breakfasts we have received. The cafe in the hotel is excellent. Banana pancakes are recommended! They have filtered water and heaters in rooms.

The hot water is tricky to work. I recommend you make sure you have it worked out before bedtime/reception closed.

We were only here for one night. Staff were very very helpful and kindly got up early and provided us with a packed breakfast before we went to Worlds End. Room was comfortable. They also provided filtered water.

Strategic location and friendly staff!

All the staff are really friendly and helpful.Very helpful with local recommendations and arranging transport. The well stocked fridge in the room was a nice touch. The place has a nice homely and relaxed feel. It right near the lake which was nice to run around (the entrance fee was a bit of joke for a lake). I would stay here again as it was good value for money and comfortable with a great breakfast. You are only 15-20 minutes walk from the centre , but the guest house will arrange any taxis or Tuk Tuk that you require.

There is a fair close by which means it can get a little noisy until around 11pm. I know the Guest House and locals are trying to get the fair removed. Breakfast was good but our evening meal was pretty poor. I did think the water refill charge for each bottle was a bit excessive and this first time we had come across it in 4+ weeks in Sri Lanka. I don't think you should be charged for drinking water or just charge a flat fee for the stay (or build into room rate).

Very nice place to stay. Staff is outstanding,food is good and the hotel is comfortable and clean. Within 20 minutes walking distance to the centre.

Arriving here after our train journey felt like arriving for a stay at your grandmas house.. greeted with a warm lit fire & a cup of tea. Lovely hot shower when checked in & very friendly staff. Evening meal was really tasty as well as tea & cakes during the day.

Staff was super, the room was big and clean, good breakfast and we enjoyed our one night there.

Very attentive staff, property was very cosy and great attention to detail. The food and drinks are great, lovely to have a coffee shop on site! Also lovely shower and very comfortable bed.

Clean and cozy accommodation, well located. There was also an hairdryer which is difficult to find in Sri Lanka’s stays. The staff was very polite and friendly, they even borrowed us two umbrellas to go out as it was about to rain

Just as a small note, the bathroom has an always open ventilation grid which made the bathroom very cold

Very friendly staff, great breakfast (we loved the banana pancakes), very spacious rooms and comfortable rooms, great and cozy breakfast area on the first floor. Also nice to have big couches outside the room to relax. We used the yoga and mediation area on the top floor for some sport and yoga practice, great to have this option with nice 360 views on the city. High value for money.

Really nice hosts that went above and beyond to help make the stay better: made breakfast that we could bring to pidurangala rock, arrenged transport to the next destination, arranged tours in the city. The place has a beatifull garden that we used for reading books with the pidurangala rock and lions rock in the background

We had a very enjoyable stay at this guest house. Very nice place, good breakfast and close to the city centre. We would have liked to stay longer than 1 night.

The hotel grounds were beautiful and immaculately kept. The rooms and communal areas also very very clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We had our toddler with us and they are well equipped with high chairs and games to keep them occupied. As a bonus they also offer a cooking class! This was the highlight of our stay and I would highly recommend this :)

A fridge in the room would Be great as we travelled with a toddler. Though they were very accomodating and kept his food/snacks in there fridge downstairs for us.

Wood fired stove on every floor. And yes that is needed due to the temperature outside. Beautiful old English building.

The bedlinnen were feeling damp.

We are really well at Suriya Guest :) we had the breakfast and dinner twice which was delicious. The host was super welcoming and kind. The rooms were spacious and had heating, which was important because we were there when it was only 17 degrees Celcius.

The hotel is set in a large house with plenty of communal spaces, big windows, and fireplaces—very cosy. The rooms are spacious, and the service is kind. Everything we asked for was provided with a smile. We enjoyed a beautifu; Yoga room in the attick with stunning views of the town. Perefct for families.

The weather was very stormy, so things were wet and cold, but the hotel staff did everything they could to make us comfortable.
