Breakfast was good and the service was great.

Lights in the bedroom was dimmed no facility to vary the brightness.

A fabulous heritage style property which has well appointed rooms and very comfortable common areas. The location close to the near deserted beach was beautiful - there are a few beach bar/ restaurants within a short walk. The food was excellent- great to have a la carte breakfasts and fresh seasonal choices for dinner. The poolside daily afternoon tea and snacks were very welcome. The staff were outstanding- friendly, efficient, attentive. The gardens were an oasis - beautifully maintained. The train that passes at the bottom of the garden gate was a quirky feature which we embraced - we enjoyed it watching local life go by.

364 / 5 000 Colonial style, beautiful well-maintained hotel, nice garden with pool, excellent service, good breakfast, plenty of choice, large room, quality mattresses. Wide and long beach, you can swim. You can get to the beach across the train tracks but without any problems.

From 5 to 7 morning your peaceful sleep is disturbed by loud religious speeches over an amplifier/megaphone. I don't know just the day we were there (Sunday) or is it repeated every day of the week

Our room was quiet, comfortable and very stylish (the whole hotel was). Breakfast and dinner were beautifully prepared and delicious, in a nice open dining room next to the pool. Everywhere - the pool, the garden and airy lounge was designed for relaxing in style. The area is geared for a quiet holiday, the town is small so not much else to do but enjoy the property and fantastic beach. It was amusing to hear the train rumble by, and to cross the track to get to the (huge, clean) beach. The staff were charming so we felt welcomed.

The entrance is down a track without much signage so we weren't sure where it was - a small thing, easily rectified.

The sea can be unforgiving at times, so stay within your depth. The Muse like others in Bentota, including Taru Villas next door, requires better equipment for the lifeguard eg a surfboard & flotation device.

We loved the place. The interior design, the garden, very helpful and friendly personnel, good breakfast, afternoon tea, nice beach, cleanliness. We felt very welcomed in this hotel

Amazing food and service. Especially afternoon tea was great. Amazing service overall. The train was close - but not at problem - more like amusement.

This hotel is stunning! We prefer boutique hotels as they always seem more friendly. The staff were so nice! The Breakfast is so lovely, we also had dinner there too. Our room was beautiful and opened out onto the delightful garden. The beach was a very short walk through the garden, a very nice clean beach. We would highly recommend and can't wait to go back one day!

Owners were too strict about their cancellation policy. We decided to stay 3 instead of five nights and they made no accommodation for us and we were charged the full amount.

Amazing place! Beautiful Heritage style, very comfy with a 5 star service and an absolutely well trained and super friendly staff. Stunning beach in front. We also loved the railway between hotel and beach. Typical and traditional feeling! We definitely recommend this place and would really like coming back

Artfully designed rooms, with every comfort thoughtfully catered to, I loved the large balconies that opened up to the sound of waves & pirith along with beautiful sights of the village and golden sunsets. The sea being steps away was glorious and the food was just delicious!

We chose the room with the private plunge pool, and, unfortunately for us, perhaps the worst room in the entire property. The pool is not really private, it is open to the common area, so it defeats the purpose of having a “private” plunge pool. Also, by plunge pool we mean a bathtub size “pool”, it is not really a place where you can swim at all, just seat in it. Unfortunately, this is also the closest room to the train tracks and you not only hear it very close, but the room itself shakes every time the train passes. And bear in mind, it continually passes by, all day and night. The room didn’t have windows, well, one very small and high window that you couldn’t really open as all the mosquitos would come in (didn’t have fly screen nor glass as such, just a wooden window). Same with the main room door, you couldn’t really leave it open. So basically you were trapped in a very dark stone oven (yes, the room takes ages to cool down, it was basically an oven). You couldn’t leave the bathroom door open either (which was quite small) because the only (small) window didn’t have a screen or glass, just a wooden frame. So if you would leave it open, the heat and mosquitos will get in. The staff mentioned the best rooms are at the main house. So probably try to get those. We must add, the beach, although beautiful, is across the train tracks. It is not too far, but it is not close either…. They have a private beach team for lounge chairs and other services, but honestly, the whole thing is a bit inconvenient.

Very luxurious, the staff were very attentive and helpful.

Maybe the prices of food and drinks were a little prohibitive for us to have every day. And, of course, the railway line so close made it noisy at times but we were aware of that before arrival.

Location superb away from very busy center but hotel has its own tuk tuk. Breakfast and dinner superb. And staff great
