This is the perfect place to stay if you'd looking for a tranquil oasis away from the city for a couple of days. Lush cinnamon trees, teak trees and palm trees border the pool and the pool area was the main draw for us to Tekkawatta and it didn't disappoint. The communications before we arrived were always prompt and very helpful, kindly booking an airport pick up for us (~40 USD and took 45 mins) and the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Having studied in the UK, her English was excellent and she told us she is the 5th generation to own the property and we were happy to be staying in a Sri Lanka owned hotel, rather than a big corporate.  Contrary to a previous review we were given plenty of water at all times, at meals and in the rooms and lovely to arrive to a refreshing drink and cold towels. For us the food was served family style, so we chose a dish for the adults and something more plain/bland for the younger kids.  There was unfortunately work going on in the 2 bed apartment we were due to stay in, so we stayed in some alternative rooms, which were fine, but I think the apartment was probably more luxurious. I would love to stay here again and see the apartment next time.

We would have liked to have some more water bottles to drink water. Unfortunately we were only given 4 or 5 small bottles during the meals ( for 5 people). Also for us it would have been very helpful to know in advance that there is only cash or local Bank transfer option available to make the payment. I believe both of the above points are important for any guests especially since the accommodation is located in a remote but beautiful location. Just to add another helpful point, it would be nice to have some mosquito nets in the bedrooms.

We were so lucky to find Tekkawatta for the last four nights of our hectic three week trip to Sri Lanka. The two bed villa is spacious and clean, very good a/c and the meals prepared for us were excellent. The staff are polite, discreet, professional and friendly and the owners are charming. We highly recommend this jungle oasis on the edge of Colombo. It’s a bird watcher’s paradise and a heavenly end to a fabulous holiday.

Quite difficult to find so you do need a Uber with satnav but we had no issues here at all. 50 mins into Colombo centre but a fun ride in a tuc tuc.

Quite location with a lovely pool, perfect for the kids. Food was great, staff very friendly and the owner called a few times to make sure everything was ok - she ‘madam’ spoke excellent English.

We wanted to stay somewhere quiet and a little way out of the city and the place was perfect for that. Very tranquil surrounded by lovely gardens and the pool was wonderful. The staff were friendly and always available for anything we needed. They cooked us delicious Sri Lankan food with breakfast included and other meals available.on request.

There was nothing to complain

A paradisiacal, dreamlike property on the outskirts of Colombo. Very spacious property with a beautiful house that leaves nothing to be desired. We enjoyed our last stay here after many pool villas in Sri Lanka and found this place, house, pool and garden to be one of the most beautiful places where everything was simply perfect and nothing to complain about. The pool is larger than average and was cleaned daily. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from the welcome to the departure all our wishes. We would definitely like to come back. Highly recommended accommodation.

The property is tranquil and denotes the nature centric approach. The pool and other facilities were as advertised. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were accomadative and helpful. Would definitely recommend that folk try out the villa. It's a 10 minute drive off the highway and is very accessible.
