How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately, there were cockroaches around the beds and furniture, which made us uncomfortable.
The location was excellent, very close to the beach and with beautiful views. The host was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, bright, and nicely decorated, making it a pleasant place to stay.

have bit some hospitality for the guests might be good. Specially like welcome drink and hot water requirements.
Really worth for the budget and we have enjoyed spending time here very much. Glad to meet this place!

One night we couldn’t get inside for a very long time because the main door was closed and no one was around. Although before that we specifically asked if we could come at night. One of the hotel employees speaks very little English, it was difficult to explain anything to him.
Having air conditioning is an incredible plus in Sri Lanka. Excellent view from the window of the green courtyard and the ocean. Very bright room. Friendly staff. One of the hosts gave us a great tour of the area. Good breakfast included in the price.

The stuff is trying to do their best,but they are very unexperienced in what they do.. Also when you have a dinner there,please note that the price in.menu is not the final price,they will charge you +service fee and + they obviously expect a tip as well,so its pretty much 50%more than menu price
New hotel,so at the moment is quite ok,beds are comfy,but the furniture is not ok. AC works perfect

”"A Great Place to Relax" I recently stayed at this calm and peaceful retreat, and it was everything I hoped for. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. from the soft bedding to the decor, made it easy to unwind. Best of all, it was worth the price. I recently stayed at this hotel, and I was really impressed with my room. It was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room to relax and feel comfortable. The atmosphere was so calm and pleasant. We just had a best view room. Staff was very friendly and gave a good service. Room was comfortable and cleanliness.They give equal service to local and foreign guests.Thank you so much Mr Tharindu and Mr Supun for giving us an excellent service. Highly recommend this place for a good stay and hope to come back again.

The wifi doesn’t work properly, the host asked me to pay the 3 days on arrival without seeing the room. I hadn’t the cash at the moment so I said, “i’ll get money later and pay you, don’t worry” ! The owner wrote me 6 times a day to pay him during the 3 days. They don’t clean the room during your journey.

We booked this place well in advance. We arrived. The guy looked confused, asked for my name, started calling someone. Then he announced our room was not available but they had a different room. We agreed to see it. Although upon booking I messaged them and explicitly asked whether we booked a room with a sea view (something they passionately advertise) and they said all their rooms have the sea view. Unsurprisingly, the replacent room they showed had a view on the garbage cans in their backyard. It was smaller too. The bed sheets had brown stains on them. I said we would take it if they give a discount (no promised sea view, dirt, smaller). Dude looked at me with visible confusion and refused. His defeating argument was, "but this is a double room too!" I said we wouldn‘t take it then. They were trying to push us into accepting this obvious scam. Then some boss (manager of the place I presume) arrived, visibly high (eyes were red as wine), started asking me where I was from (I presume it makes a huge difference) and what was the problem. After explaining to him they cannot let people book a room, then tell them there‘s no room, and offer some gargabe alternative instead for the same price as though a spit in the face. He started yelling and said they won‘t give us any room (thankfully). Admittedly, it was for the good. It‘s quite easy to find a place to stay in Unawatuna without pre-booking it. I would highly discourage anyone from supporting these aggressive, incompetent brats with your wallet.

WARNING ‼️‼️ We didn't feel safe in the hotel. Our room was broken into by the hotel staff. All of our things were ransacked. Everything was messy. Luckily we didn't have any valuables in the room, because there was no safe either. In addition, the hotel owner was very suggestive towards both of us women. He asked several times at night if he could come into our room and called us all the time.
