Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It can be quite noisy if you are staying in the room closest to the road.
Great location where the town and beach are walkable, very comfortable bed, the shower had great water pressure and hot water! Breakfasts were also super tasty!

We would have wished for a fridge and especially more hooks!
This was one of the nicest places me and my mom stayed at during our trip. The room was very fresh and newly renovated. One of the best things was definetly the breakfast and the staff was lovely and treated us so well. We wanted to book this place for a few more nights but unfortunatley it was full booked. But as you can hear I really recommend this place! Good to know about the rooms is that there is no wall over the big windows, it is completely open. It is not a busy road outside but if you dont want other people to hear you or dont want to hear other it is good to know. Me and my mom were not bothered though.

It was tiny bit too warm but the fan was still enough to sleep.
Close to the beach, restaurants, cafes and bars. We walked down to Hiriketiya beach and Dickwella beach in no time.

The rooms were clean, the location is quiet and walking distance from the beach, and Mahesh, the guy making breakfast and taking care of everything has been super helpful and nice!

No air con just a fan which blows the warm air around
Location to Hiriketiya and Dickwella beach is great. Restaurants nearby. Certainly will be a great place once fully furnished as it’s quite a new property which is common across the Dickwella area. Room is spacious and bathroom is great. Host was v chilled.

I slept well but if you re a light sleeper -like my partner- you better bring earplugs. Noise from dogs and traffic(although its not on the main road) are somewhat amplified in the room.
Staff was very friendly and responsive. Room is small but very clean and perfect for a couple of nights stay. Very close to both beaches and cafes. Internet is the fastest i’ve experienced on the island !!

There was no hot water in the shower (although we appreciated cold showers during hot days, and hot showers seem rare around Hiri).
This place is brand new and, once the house is entirely finished (the upstairs seems to still be under construction), the house is going to be really beautiful. It's modern and minimalist—a super simple and clean aesthetic, exactly as pictured. My partner and I stayed here for more than three weeks and enjoyed our time! Our room was big enough for two people with a big bed and a spacious, clean bathroom. We asked about a mosquito net only about a day before arriving, and they put one up for us no problem. The breakfast every morning, outside at our private table in the corner of the garden, was great (and accommodating for me as a vegetarian). The host changed it every day with three dishes in rotation (we loved the smoothie bowl the best). He was super sweet and helpful in regularly providing us with cold water and fresh linens—and even doing our laundry twice!

Brand new accommodation with few rooms and we got one without AC due to availability for two nights. Room was great and stylish, everything super new in there, comfy bed and clean room and bathroom. Location was accessible and was quiet and nice. Owner was helpful and was available over the phone when needed. We will be back!

The property is quite new. Spacious and in close to the beach. The rooms were comfortable and the washrooms were quite nice too! Staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is a new place that has just opened, it is a nice place to stay and the hosts were good. A few teething issues, but don't let that put you off :)

The place was so hot and noisy. It's probably the worst place i stayed through Booking.com. please don't stay in this place if you have a full schedule the next day. This might be my 1st bad review in 15 years with Booking.com. I am so sorry. I have to say this the fan is fixed roughly. Hope you can fix the problems. Cheers
