Excellent stay Beautiful property and surroundings. 10minute tuk tuk away from Ella however you feel the beauty of nature in the jungle surroundings. Many lovely birds and insects to see. Lovely to watch and admire over delicious breakfast in the mornings served on the roof terrace. Lovely to look over the traditional surroundings of the workers in the rice fields. The room was very comfy, large bed. All the mod cons to would need. Nice clean large room. Very good value for money. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Always available if we had any concerns. This was a really good choice for our stay in Ella, would highly recommend to others.

Thank you so much to the hosts for the wonderful stay 🩷 we loved every minute of it! Best breakfast with a view on the ricefields and jungle area, so peaceful & quiet! The room is spotless clean, with a very comfy bed, good pillows and sheet, the fluffiest bathtowels ever + a big bathroom (a Quality hairdryer available). It's a short 8 minute tuktuk ride to the center of Ella, but we walked it in about 35 minutes. Close to the starting Point of the hike to Little Adam's Peak & 9 Arches Bridge. They are decorating a 2nd room which will be finished soon but right now it's 2 guests only, so we had the place to ourselves. The owners live downstairs and are so happy & quick to help with everything. Hope to be back soon!

The room is amazingly beautifully decorated with beautiful lights. It is very beautifully made. It is very clean. The breakfast is delicious. I want to thank the owner of this place and his wife for giving us a lot of opportunities. You are a very nice group of people. I am very grateful to have found such a place.

I love the top floor of this place because it is very quiet and you can hear the birds chirping. Also, when you look down from there, you can see a beautiful river where people are working in the fields. The room is still beautifully decorated. The bathroom is clean and spacious. Also, the bed is very comfortable. I was told that breakfast was very delicious. Thank you again ,

The most beautiful place in Ella and a clean room and the best food I have ever eaten at breakfast. The owner and his wife brought it to me at five o'clock. The room was very clean and the level of cleanliness was high. They also arranged a tuk tuk for us to go to the center.It took about 8 minutes to reach the ella town ..Thank you so much.

This is the most beautiful and clean room I have ever stayed in Sri Lanka and their hospitality was at a very high level. Breakfast was also very tasty and there were many amazing dishes like roti hopper which I really like. The room was also very clean. The bed was always very comfortable and the bathroom was also very clean. Also, this place is decorated very beautifully with likes.

I love this place, which is located in a very beautiful place very close to the falls. The room is very comfortable and the smell of the water is very good and the room is also very clean. This place is very clean and the most beautiful room. We were treated so well that we couldn't believe it. The room is located in a very quiet environment. The room is very beautifully decorated with lights and everything is very neat and the battle is very decorated. Everything is very clean. Also, the breakfast was very tasty and the best breakfast I have had in Sri Lanka. I am very happy that I chose this place. I hope to come to this place again. I thank you very much for your consideration. We can reach Ella town in about nine minutes by tuk tuk.

The best place I have been in Sri Lanka and it is also clean and friendly family and it is located in a beautiful unspoilt environment. Also if you go to Ella by foot it is about seven minutes and the best place to hear the most beautiful and beautiful birds. This place is located in a very beautiful place in a very quiet and clean environment than Ella town where Ella is. I am very happy to stay in a place like this. Also this family served me very delicious breakfast and I thank them very much for that. In terms of cleanliness, the room, the bathroom and the bed were very comfortable. Thank you very much for everything. Also, the top floor of the Mahandu house is located in a very beautiful forest area with a rice field. I would like to tell you from Europe to come and enjoy this place. The people who live here are very nice and kind. They can help you with anything you need. Thank you very much for your support. We stayed here for two nights while exploring Ella and the surroundings. It is a 10 minute TukTuk ride from Ella downtown, so very quiet at night and a great place to relax. It has a roof terrace where you can have your tea and watch the rice fields during the day or have your beer in the evening. The host family is very welcoming and does everything to make the stay memorable. If you need a TukTuk driver, they will call their great friend Babu and he will even pick you up at 6am if you need to take the early train. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in Sri Lanka!

Just a flag that the location is slightly trickier to access. Would recommend hiring a scooter like we did or Tuktuk which the lovely hosts will help you organise

Secluded location, an escape from Ella. The room is clean and tidy and has thoughtful touches throughout to make it feel homely. Breakfast was 10/10 - so delicious! The highlight of The Kingdom of Ella though were the hosts - super kind, generous and would help organise anything you requested.

I highly recommend this place who wants an authentic Ella vibe without the stress you got in the center. The room was big and the bed super comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and the owners (young couple) are super welcoming. The apartment is in the jungle what makes it special as well! So def a good choice :)

The access to the house is a bit tricky. From the main road you take a smaller road where only a tuktuk fits, not accessible by car. The last bit to the house then only accessible by foot. The tuktuk drivers gave us a hard time to drive up there saying it is a difficult road and charged us 1500lkr. We preferred to walk most times to town to not deal with the hassle. Took us 40min to walk and you get really nice views along the way. We also walked at night, no lights whatsoever but even walking in the pitch dark felt very safe.

The house is located tucked away in the hills. It is very quiet and very peaceful. There is only one room (where we stayed) in the house so you get a real nice home stay experience. The breakfast was the best we have had in Sri Lanka so far, very tasty and a very big portion that we enjoyed in the balcony every morning. Everything is run by the family and they are very nice and helpful. We got tips of where to go and the hosts also connected us with a tuktuk driver that took us around to the places further away that we wanted to visit. They can also help sort out scooters if preferred. We also got tips where to do laundry which was a very solid recommendation.

Slightly tucked away, outside the centre of Ella so would be a bit trickier without your own transport. We hired a scooter for a couple of days and then a Tuktuk which was great fun and gave us so much freedom. We also liked being away from the busy centre.

Amazing breakfast every morning and I enjoyed watching the birds as the property is nestled in the forest. The bed was also super comfy. Very friendly family and they did everything to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thank you

Nothing it was perfect! The nicest place we've stayed in Sri Lanka!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Kingdom of Ella! Our hosts were the loveliest people and were so kind in helping us with tuktuks and anything else we needed. It is located a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ella but you can walk to town in 30 minutes and you get incredible views along the way. Because of it's location the homestay is surrounded by beautiful jungle and tea fields and is incredibly peaceful, lovely to come back to after a busy Ella. The rooftop seating area is a lovely place to relax after a hike. Breakfast is incredible, the room is spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely en suite. There are so many thoughtful amenities including a hair dryer. Absolutely wonderful stay!

Not a negative but just a good thing to know - when you arrive don’t drive your car down the road as it’s very narrow and a cliff edge. Ask them to get you a tuktuk for you and your bags. They will organise it very quickly for you!

The couple who own the property are so attentive and extremely helpful!! The breakfast they make is absolutely incredible. Really nice touches in the room that are very thoughtful like some playing cards.
