We had a clean, quiet and comfortable stay at The Kiwi. Beds were large and comfortable, basic amenities like a kettle and tea/coffee was provided, although do remember to bring along your own shower gel & shampoo. The porch was a nice addition and provided great value to our stay. The host was so nice to offer us tea & biscuits upon arrival. They also have the cutest dogs!!! It was an easy 10-minute walk into the bustling area of Ella with restaurants and shops, yet you get to enjoy the quietness away from the town centre at The Kiwi. It's also very close to the starting point of Little Adam's Peak and the trail to Nine Arches Bridge.

The room was quite large and very comfortable. It was extremely clean, there was a kettle provided, the shower was perfect. I really like the fact that the owners were not always around and in my face.

Everything was perfect!

A very nice hotel a bit outside the hustle and bustle of Ella town but still only a short walk to the center. Very nice owner and his father who owns a Tuk tuk that we used a couple of times. Definitely recommended!

Everything. This was the nicest place we have stayed in so far in Sri Lanka. The family are so kind and will help you with anything. We had such a wonderful experience here and only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for such an amazing stay.

There's currently building works going on near the front of the property so it could be a bit noisy during the day, but there's building work noise everywhere in Ella so it can't be avoided!

Perfect location about 5 minutes walk from the main street in Ella. It's set back just on the road up to the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak so you're already on your way. The room was a great size, much bigger than I was expecting, and the bathroom was really nice. The shower had hot water (it does take a little while to come through but it gets there!) which was needed in Ella at this time of year. Very peaceful at night. Comfortable bed and really lovely staff, highly recommend!

Great location, 5 mins walk to Main Street and 10min walk to train station. Room was lovely and clean and beds super comfy. The owner and family were lovely and very accommodating, with great communication. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend

no Ac but no problem cuz ella is cold but windows has no bug net so insects will get in No ventilation

Nothing, it was amazing!

The best place we stayed in in Sri Lanka! The room is lovely, clean and tidy perfect relation quality/price. But who really steals the spotlight is the owner. Ultra friendly, speaking amazing English and a super kind person! He helped us many times during our short stay in Ella, and we were really super grateful!

The apt was really nice! the beds super comfortable and the location was great. 15 min walking by from the train station and 5 min from the center! The host was super kind, and always ready to help us with any question we had, we loved the stay there :)

I wish the price was a lil less in comparison to the room (maybe it was more that day) .. no other complaints.

The room was clean and newly built. The owner giave us a hairdryer and a lift to the main market

The owner was difficult to contact even though I tried to call him multiple times, and that made my late arrival more difficult. There was a cockroach in my bathroom and the owner seemed unprepared to deal with it and just gave me a bottle of mosquito repellent. Passable for a one day stay but I would not have extended further.

Dark room, bad smell and mold on the walls which was difficult to breathe. Owners should do something about it, more than just washing. Small towels, not enough size for adults.

Good location, close to restaruants etc. Room and bathroom were clean except of mold on the walls, which in fact was washed and cleaned but smell is only possible to handle if you stay max 1 night. As per my research is general issue in Ella so maybe other places are similar.

1. No WiFi 2. The entire room had been covered in black mold. Now, they had cleaned and repainted the place, but it still smelled and looked moldy. I realize this is very hard to avoid in such a wet environment like Ella, but if you are allergic to mold, be sure to bring a N95 mask.

1. The location was excellent: less than five minute walk to downtown Ella, ten minute walk to various hikes, and yet very quiet 2. The hosts were lovely. They offered me tea whenever they saw me (and their tea was delicious). 3. The beds were pretty comfortable and came with mosquito nets. 4. Private entrance with a private patio!
