Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The bathroom/ drain in the bathroom started to smell after a couple of days…
The bed was super comfortable, really clean and it’s in a great location - not far from the main street and beach, but far enough to escape the noise!

Nothing. Everything was perfect
The room are very spacious and clean. You have the AC and fan. Dana was an exceptional host and always very helpful. You have a bench, table, fan and hammock outside the room to chill. Seating area upstairs. The street is very calm and again from the main road. Super close to the beach and walk to Main point.

We had to switch rooms because wifi doesn’t work in every room. For the type of room you get I think the place is overpriced

Everything was very nice, the location was really great as it's a 1 minute walk from the main road but far enough not to be bothered by all the late night music and partying. The worker in the hotel we a very nice and attentive, helping us with everything we needed. Very good stay, highly recommend.AC was also really good.

Our room was not ready for check-in when we arrived even though we confirmed our arrival time, we received no communication regarding the breakfast that was supposed to be included. Very loud neighbours that kept us up most of the first night of our stay.
The location is very good, close to the beach, shops and surf, the staff were friendly and helpful. The wifi worked well and the room was reasonably comfortable.

First off I never leave bad reviews and this review is purely because of poor management. I feel bad because one young employee is running the entire show by himself. That is the problem and he is not at fault. They don’t clean the rooms and breakfast takes about an hour and half after you order. The breakfast always comes cold with stale bread. The owner does not communicate well. We had no idea that booking.com could not charge our credit card and ended up having to pay an extra fee for a wise transfer. It’s important to mention these kind of things upon check-in. We also rented a Tuk Tuk and the owner took us to get it. 3 days later he told us we owe him money for a ride to pick up the Tuk Tuk. Again, this should be mentioned up front. It really is just not a good value for the price. I would pay approximately 15 dollars a night for this property.
The AC was cold and the shower is hot.

A decent place to stay but quite squeezed. There are no quiet hours for the place and in my case some other tenants were quite noisy during the nights. The personel did not handle the situation properly, in a way that ensures a smooth and respectful stay for everyone, even if I asked for it. As a result I had really bad sleep most of the nights I stayed there.
Good location with decent breakfast and in general the stuff is friendly and kind.

Staff doesn’t do anything when other customers get drunk and party until late in the common areas and then complain when there are broken things on the next morning… if you want to surf early and be able to chill easily in the evening don’t come here. The bed mattress was really thin.

The partying 2 consecutive nights in a row until 3am in the morning. 1 large group of people decided to use the hotel to host large parties, with loud music and singing. The rooms are not soundproof. It was incredibly poor standards on behalf of the staff to not remove the rowdy guests from the hotel permanently. The morning after, when I went to check out, no staff were around to discuss the problem. If you're looking to have a chilled surf holiday, I do not recommend this place.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. I was working and they saw it so they changed my chair for a more comfortable one. They also do a very fast laundry service. Perfect location if you plan to surf Main point.

I loved my stay at The Point Bay! The room and bathroom were clean and there’s plenty of space. I work remotely and the room was perfect - there’s a desk and good internet. All of the staff are so kind and helpful, make you feel at home. The breakfast is delicious and very generous, perfect after a surf! The accommodation is in a perfect spot to wander down to the beach/surf, with the supermarket, cafes and restaurants all super close.
