Very responsive, consistently checking if we needed anything. Highly recommend. Very nice location in the centre of Arugam Bay. Rooms are large and lovely, with a cute private little garden.

This was a beautiful little boutique hotel in a great location in arugam bay! The pool was amazing! Perfect temperature! Lots of nice shade to relax and sun if you wanted it! The rooms were huge! Loved the canopy bed with the mosquito net! Great coffee place attached with beautiful morning buns and museli!

GermanyThe accommodation was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The location is in the middle of Arugam and you can reach all the good places by walk. The guys working there are so sympathic and they helped us with everything we needed. We felt like friends from the beginning on. Last day we got a sandwich for our next trip because we couldn’t stay unti breakfast. The small lodges are pretty and all the area with cafe, reception and restaurant is very very nice and authentic. You feel like home after a few hours.

The Spice Trail was hands down the best accommodation of my trip! Everything about it was exceptional — from the warm and welcoming staff to the incredible food. The location is perfect, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. The spa was a real highlight, and every detail felt thoughtfully done. They were so accommodating throughout my stay, making sure I had everything I needed. I honestly didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!

Our stay at The Spice Trail was perfect. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with welcome drinks and great hospitality by all the staff. The room was superb, everything was clean and it had everything you needed such as filtered water, a safe, kettle, etc. The pool and restaurant were also great. The beach is only across the road as well a whole selection of restaurants and cafes.

We liked the staff they were helpful welcoming and warm even though we stayed over new year when most folks are on holiday. They even gave us some of their celebration foods. The rooms are very clean comfortable and spacious with really efficient aircon and fan. The waste water is recycled and used in the lovely garden. Rooms come with fridge kettle and fresh refillable drinking water availe all the time. The food in the restaurant was delicious and has a Japanese twist. There is a coffee shop right by the gate that sells excellent coffee and cake. They have a pool within a lush garden which gives some respite from the heat of the street. The pool is really clean and free for guests but public can use it for a fee. We loved our stay here so much we extended it for 2 nights. Whist the Spice trail doesn't back onto the beach it's right in the centre of Abay and just across the road from the beach. This was a favourite place to stay for us ❤️ Thank you Spice Trail team you are great! a special shout out to the lovely smiley gardener who alway met us with a wonderful smile 😃 we hope to return some day. 10 /10 💖

GermanyThere were cockroaches in one of our bathrooms. The staff acted immediately on it, yet, the cockroaches did not disappear. However, they only showed up at night.
The pool and the facilities were really nice and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly Breakfast was plentiful but did not reach the level of home stay food.

Also good to have a safe in the room, but kind of pointless as it’s not secured to the wall or floor (so someone could just walk out with the safe in their hands!)
