We made the decision to stay at this property based on the excellent reviews on bookings. com and was extremely pleased with what we experienced during the stay. The personalised service by Iresha (FOM) and her staff was excellent. And also the food would have ticked all the boxes of a recognised food critic in a most favourable manner. The facilities were all and more what was expected.

Our room was fantastic. We had a living room area with a big TV and good English channels. There is a large fridge to keep your drinks and snacks cold. A table with 2 chairs for sitting at if working or to use for making coffee or tea with the kettle and mugs provided. A separate bedroom with a large king bed was super comfortable. The mattress was not too hard and the linen was pure cotton. A light duvet is perfect for the temperature. The pillows were 2 per person, 1 king and 1 normal and also so comfortable. We had a good-sized cupboard to hang our clothes, a safe, and an ironing board. The bathroom was en-suite with a good, hot shower, toilet, and basin. The bedroom opened up onto a backyard patio with comfortable benches to sit on if you wanted to be outside but still at your room. The aircon in both the living room and bedroom worked perfectly. They also provide a large umbrella for your use. The swimming pool is lovely, with deck chairs, soft cushions, and shade provided. They also give you swimming pool towels. There is a good-sized gym which we did not use but it looked fully stocked with all the necessary equipment. We ordered room service a few times and the service and food were very good. The actual dining room is fantastic and we enjoyed an evening feasting on a Sri Lankan buffet with loads of different dishes. The staff were all amazing and so helpful. We were able to park our car on the premises where a full-time guard is stationed. They even washed the car for us. It was sad to say goodbye but we loved our stay here in Jaffna.

This place is so amazing, spacious, clean and quiet, close to Jaffna airport. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, I felt right at home. Special mention to Dillakshi, Prasanna, Prinsen, Dineshan, Saranya who helped us with what dishes to try, what places to see etc. The Manager Rushan was equally helpful and offered to help us book another stay on our return to Jaffna from Trincomalee. And the food was delicious! Thank you Thinnai for a thoroughly enjoyable stay, we are certainly coming back! :-)

A very nice hotel in the heart of Jaffna, yet in a quiet location. The rooms are nice and spacious and consist of a living area and a bedroom. The restaurant is highly recommended. It serves very authentic and delicious regional cuisine. The staff is very accommodating, and Dinesh, in particular, gave us a lot of additional information. The hotel is good value for money, and we ate in the restaurant every evening and tried many dishes on the menu. The pool and gym are cleaned daily, and everything is very tidy.

I loved my stay at the Thinnai (and Jaffna overall, it’s a shame that people skip this place). There was a small miscommunication about take away breakfast, but they sincerely apologised and made up for it with a surprise from the kitchen. Breakfast is also very nice and I definitely recommend the Odiyal Kool which tasted amazing!

We had a most amazing stay at The Thinnai. The property is well maintained with lovely garden, the restaurant has fantastic dinner options, the breakfast buffet is plentiful, the suite is tastefully decorated, the personnel is very welcoming. Strongly recommended!

I cannot fault the hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, the apartment was very well equipped and the gym/pool were excellent. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night. We would have loved to stay longer.
