The only issue is a building site next door that worked very late on the Saturday night but we had ear plugs so it wasn’t too bad.

The rooms are fantastic. Way beyond our expectations for Arugam bay having stayed at 2 others hotels before. They are very modern and clean. The staff are lovely and helpful. They even cleaned our Tuk Tuk the morning we were leaving without being asked. There is a lovely bar in the grounds owned by another party and they work well together. It’s right on the beach. Chilled vibe.

We had a fantastic stay at Beach Wave Hotel in Arugam Bay! The room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location is unbeatable—right on the beach, with plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, and surf shops just steps away. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway!

Arugam Bay is a bit noisy at night but this is not the property's fault, the noise was coming from bars at the other end of the beach so we actually felt we were far away from it (could still hear it though).

Basic accommodation right on the beach. Location is awesome & room was clean. Aircon worked extremely well! Staff were always there/available.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had the best time. The location is amazing with a beautiful beach to swim at right on the doorstep. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed (read: aircon haha). The hotel is just off the main road so there are loads of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We were able to park our rental car for the duration of our stay and made use of tuk tuks and scooter rental which is all available within a 1 minute walk from the hotel. Staff were helpful whenever we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again. Just a heads up that no credit card facilities are available so cash payment is required.

Quite loud at night and rooms quite dark. If you're wanting to stay out late then it's a good place! I paid for the balcony room but they didn't have any available on arrival - but they let me pay for the cheaper room.

So much more could be done to make this property better. The beach area was scruffy, there were a few wooden sunbeds with a couple of old dirty mattresses. There was no bar or restaurant but there were unused structures near the beach which might be for this purpose. The bathroom was basic as you'd expect at this price but wasn't particularly clean. Curiously, once we'd left and paid in full, after our booked 4 nights, we had a notification from booking.com to say that that our booking had been modified to only one night at a much cheaper rate. Intriguing.....

The room was basic but cheap so it was ok value for money. The bathroom had a hot shower and the bed was comfortable enough. We requested soap and a kettle which were promptly supplied. The upstairs hammock area was nice for evening lounging with a sea view. It was close to the beach and we enjoyed hearing the crashing waves. Good Aircon and fan.

Room was pretty dark and very basic (to the point of shabby), but clean. No soap or any other condiments in the bathroom, we even had to ask for towels (which were provided then). Sheets were clean but stained, mosquito net was bloody and had holes in it. No hot water - but that's okay on hot beach days. For a cheaper price, all of this would have been acceptable, but we felt to be very overpriced for what was provided.

Location right next to the beach is great, hammock and chairs in front of the room are very inviting to chill out.

There was no hostel/surfer atmosphere at the hotel itself. But therfore it was quiet so to have a good sleep. Even if you are a surfer you won’t go wrong with this accommodation and there are shops around to hire boards

It was directly next to a beautiful beach. They have a restaurant and bar around the corner with really, really nice employees and a chill out atmosphere. We went there minimum once a day. It is centrally located so you never need a TukTuk to go around. I think the place is quite new because the showers and rooms looked like recently renovated. They offer laundry service. I liked the small beach style of the houses and the spacious balcony as well as the clean and beautiful room.

A great hotel right on the beach front! Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff are amazing and really helpful. We did surf lessons through the hotel which were great - I’d recommend malé as your surf instructor any day. Within walking distance to the Main Street, loads of great food options available. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended by two nights!!! Thanks so much to everyone at the beach wave hotel for making it such a memorable stay.

Really nice room and bathroom, as well as a nice area at the beach to relax. Location is perfect with direct beach access and still close to restaurants and shops. Staff was really friendly and helpful, organized an uncomplicated scooter rental for us, as well as a boat tour on Pottuvil lake in the late afternoon where we saw Elephants. Would recommend 100%

There is very little customer service here. Everything I asked for they gave me but if friendliness is high on your list this place doesn’t have it. And we had no hot water

The location is fabulous The guys in the hostel that makes your breakfast were wonderful people and super friendly - loved them and you could hang out there all day (15 steps from your room) Sandy Beach Hotel next door looked much better with the same location

Room is basic and dirty. The sheets had a blood stain even though they said they just cleaned the room. There is sand everywhere even after requesting cleaning again. I asked for towels twice and never got them. I never met the owner, i had to call him when i needed something and he sent someone over who didn’t speak english, so communication wasn’t great.

Perfect location right in the center and with beach access with sun beds and hammocks. However, the beachfront shown in the pictures belongs to the hostel in front of Beach Wave, called Shine Rise. You can hang out there by ordering at the bar of course, but it’s not part of beach wave even if it is advertised as such. AC works great.
