Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceI was not keen on the glass walled bathroom - Though not translucent, it isn’t very private and if your partner needs the loo at night you get woken by the light.

United KingdomI stayed at the hotel at the end of a week and a half of rail travel and frequent hotel changes in Germany, and had two purposes. One was to visit the European museum and the other just to unwind after a lot of travel. The Château Schengen was perfect for both of these. First of all, the location was absolutely ideal. I walked across the bridge from Perl station on the other side of the Moselle and, had I taken the correct turn the first time it would have been no more than five minutes from first stepping foot in Luxembourg. More importantly for me, the entrance to the European museum can be reached in under a minute from Reception. My room also had a very fine view of the Moselle, and across to Germany, Perfect for some Dawn photography. What really made the hotel for me however was the staff. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful from the start. I am visually impaired and they took time to help me orientate myself, and were always very happy to guide me back to my room, as well as to the front desk of the European museum and, on departure, all the way to the bus stop for the bus to Luxembourg city. The latter in particular was a very kind gesture, and really helped me get my final day of rail travel back to Northern England off to a good start. My room itself was of a good size and well appointed. The bed was probably the most comfortable of my whole trip, and I wished I could have had a longer lie in! I also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant (with a very generous dish of scallops for my main course, and excellent service despite it being very busy) and breakfast the next morning. Overall, this was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay, with staff who go the extra mile, and a location about as close as one could possibly get to the place where European freedom of movement was born.

United KingdomWhen I booked and asked about dinner, I was told that there was a private function in the restaurant so we could not have dinner. As this was in advance, that was fine, and we found something on the day. However, there was also a private party in the grounds of the hotel which meant we could not have access to any of the communal areas of the hotel. As a paying guest of the hotel we found it quite unsatisfactory and should have been told this in advance. We could have also had the choice to cancel if we known. I feel there should be something to offer to the other guests re at least somewhere to have a seat and a drink. The other option is don't take other bookings if they have a private function! Although it's a lovely setting it felt like bed and breakfast at hotel money!
Thought the place was lovely. Traditional old building and could have been a really nice around stay. But!

United KingdomNo kettle. Two small bottles of water (not replenished). Just one chair.
Enchanting building with spacious rooms and splendid views. Our room for the two-night stay (115) overlooked the Moselle (from bathroom) and the back garden (from bedroom and bathroom); it was peaceful. The bathroom was utterly divine with a whopper bath (tepid water, though) and masses of space. Friendly and helpful staff. We had breakfast the first morning - tasty, albeit pricy (20€ pp). The on-site restaurant isn’t open on Sunday; the receptionist kindly booked a table for us at a restaurant five minutes’ walk away. The hotel is next to the Schengen Museum - a digital-heavy set of displays, but well worth visiting; it provided a balanced overview of freedom of movement.

New ZealandThere’s no wardrobe so no place to hang clothes. Part of the building has no lift access. Minor issues though.
It is literally a chateau!! Beautiful building and surroundings! Friendly staff. When we arrived, three staff came out, 2 hauled our luggage up to the room, and the third poured us champagnes as welcome drinks!

United KingdomWe knew the hotel didn't have a restaurant so went to look for somewhere to eat but apart from a Chinese that was closed and a bar that looked very dark inside we couldn't find anywhere nearby either. We were woken up at 7am by very loud church bells
We had a suite with two very large rooms and two bathrooms, all very clean and well furnished. Had a view of the Mossell river from the bedroom and the hotel was only a minutes walk from the river.

GermanyJust a small suggestion: more shelves in the bathrooms would be helpful.
The breakfast was really tasty, fresh and you could feel the love of the hotel owner when preparing it. The location was really beautiful and clean. I was there for a business trip and it was convenient also to drive to Luxembourg city.

RussiaWe were in a double room, no wardrobe or any coat hanger, there was literally no place to unpack the clothes. No big bath towels, only hand towels. No slippers, no robe. We asked to refill the shower gel because it was empty, nobody bothered. The breakfast was bread and sugar, yogurt, pieces of cheese and ham. No warm cooked food, no eggs. No curtains in the room, only roller blinds, it was impossible to open the window with them. The room didn't have ventilation or AC or fan. How to sleep without fresh air?
