Reviews of Youth Hostel Echternach

I didn't stay long, arrived late at night and departed in the following morning. The first good thing was that although I arrived very late, I mean, after the limit for checkin, a staff member came down and checked me in. For what I saw, it seems an excellent hostel for those who want to do activities inside or around it. It might be a bit off the centre if all you want is a bed to sleep. The hostel seemed absolutely clean and everything was in order, nothing broken of too used.

The staff was super friendly, they recommended a restaurant to me when the Melting Pot was closed, they were there for any questions I had. I loved the location, a beautiful lake and the Mullerthal trail, the hostel itself has a cozy room with a bookshelf and a place to sit, you can go to the climbing wall and all in all, I didn't even get time to get bored, actually I wish I could have stayed longer.

The lockers don't come with a key or a lock, so if you prefer your things locked, make sure to take one but there was plenty of space to put my stuff.

Great hostel for all ages and nationalities! We had a good night’s sleep and enjoyed the many common/open spaces around the hostel. The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was also decent, standard hostel food but better than average coffee and fruit! Thanks a bunch!

Just note there’s no basic soap or shower gel in room facilities so worth bringing your own.

Reception staff were fantastic. I was keen to practice speaking Lëtzebuergesch (as I don't get many chances to) and they were really encouraging and patient :)

Very nice hostel, situated at lake, very close yo city and mullerthal trail. Really good facilities like volleyball courts outside, indoor futball/basketball courts Great staff team very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Good breakfast and diners! Go to hotel for outdoor and sports people!

The flys were terrible. at check out they attempted to charge me double meals, which we sorted out.

What an amazing place. For the price you pay it really is remarkable. We paid 10 euro extra pp per night for a room just for the two of us and it was worth it. Showers (which were hot!) and toilet in individual cubicles in the room. Lockers were large for storage. Each bed had a charging point and two cubby holes plus great lights for reading. There was also a sitting area on the first floor where we were staying with books, games, activities etc. So it was very family friendly. The lakeside setting was glorious, short walk into the main town and the bus depot where the transport is free and plentiful. There was also a supermarket within ten minutes walk where you could buy packed lunches. The breakfast was pretty standard but delicious and set us up for the day. The fact you could walk directly from the door was just wonderful.

Affordable. Good location. Convenient. Toilet in room with no hand soap. Breakfast very minimalistic and not many veg options (cereal, yogurt, fruits, bread) however cannot complain given included in price.

A bit noisy but nothing unusual for a hostel. Dinner a little to expensive for what you ger and the restaurant closes to early..breakfast starts late in my opinion.

Friendly check-in, clean facility, warm room (stayed in frosty February), basic but superb breakfast + fantastic location. Youth Hostels are such a value for money, especially in low season ;)
