Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Do. 12. Juni 2025 Riad à l'Ombre des Orangers is a true gem in Marrakech. It was our first time in Morocco, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and comfortable thanks to the wonderful Julie-always warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful-as well as her lovely team and charming parents. The riad, which opened in early 2025, has been beautifully and lovingly restored to a high standard, seamlessly blending European comfort with authentic Moroccan charm. Pupa, the little Toy Poodle, is an adorable real-life teddy bear and quickly wins the hearts of everyone she meets. The riad itself is already wonderful, but it's Julie and her family who turn it into something truly exceptional. Julie gave us countless insider tips that we would never have discovered on our own and took care of everything for us: Dinner reservations, currency exchange, airport transfer, and more. Breakfast (and the optional dinner) was a delicious blend of traditional Moroccan flavors and European quality. It's rare to have this kind of experience: we arrived as strangers and left, after just three days, feeling like friends. We hope that many others get to enjoy the same wonderful time we had at Riad à l'Ombre des Orangers. A heartfelt thank to Julie, Beatrice, Domenique and Achraf

NetherlandsNot only was this my first time in Marrakech, it was only my first time trying a Riad. For someone who has never done anything of a shared space living/stay anywhere throughout whole their life, It is quite the experience I must say. We (me and my family which made a total of 5 adults divided over 2 rooms) were hesitant at first but after a while we started to adore the experience. It's like one big house where everyone has their own rooms with each their own toilet and bathroom. The accommodation has a very modern interior and feels very clean. I stayed for 3 days (2 nights) at the Riad and we were pleased with our stay. The owner is very passionate about the Riad and very client oriented. Our happiness was her pleasure and that showed. The Riad opened not too long ago but the service was mature. Breakfast was nice. Tea when desired was served with the typical Moroccan show. The roof terrace was a nice addition if you want to bake in the sun at day, but also good for relaxation at night. The Jamaa el Fnaa is a short 15 min walk and everything you would want to see in the old city (called Medina) is within a 15-20 min walk reach. If you want a Riad experience where cleanliness doesn't feel compromised and the service is provided with pleasure, then this is a recommendation for you.

United KingdomAnything we didn’t like was remedied easily by Julie and her staff.
My trip to Morocco was extraordinary, largely thanks to the wonderful accommodation. It was absolutely perfect. The Riad—what they call a guest house—couldn’t have been better. It was both comfortable and traditional, cool and relaxing. The proprietor, Julie, is a truly delightful person. She gave us her personal attention and even woke up in the middle of the night to arrange a taxi to the airport—bless her. Breakfast was served to us as if we were royalty. Ashraf, a young waiter who takes care of the meals, was very polite and helpful. We explained how we liked our English breakfast tea, and by the end of our stay, he had mastered it perfectly. I’m not particularly fond of the traditional Arabic mint tea usually served in Morocco—it’s a bit too sweet for me, though the mint itself is excellent for digestion. So we carry our own teabags wherever we go. Fortunately, tea and coffee making facilities were available all day on the rooftop terrace. It was pure perfection. Dinner, prepared by local chefs Fatima and Sameera, was a true culinary delight. I’ve never tasted such a delicious tagine in my life. All in all, this is a fantastic place, run magnificently by Julie. The decor is beautiful, the bedrooms are comfortable, and there were no issues at all with the bathroom facilities. The air conditioning was superb and even had a jet setting that was very pleasant. The location is ideal—right in the heart of colorful Marrakech, close to everything. We also had the pleasure of meeting Julie’s parents, who help run the business. They are a lovely couple. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. I give it a 10/10—and two handfuls of gold stars! To be honest, I’m already missing it. A luxury and homelike experience that must be experienced surely. (This entire review was written by my mother, who loved every bit of her stay in Morocco because we had a comfortable Riad to return to)
