How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property stayed in contact from my initial booking through checkout. They made us feel at home, made reservations and recommendations, and provided a lovely breakfast. Very relaxing after long hours of tourism

Verified reviewStaffs are super nice and attentive. Basically, makes me feel like home. To my surprise, the hotel offer free drying service so long as I wash my clothes which is convenient. The place is authentic and gives me a sense of Moroccan. I have dinners and breakfast at the Riad and they are good. The staff Younes is super nice, friendly and attentive, takes care of my almost everything. All in all, this is a feels like home Riad. The girl at the front desk is also very helpful as well ( I forgot her name). The cleaning ladies are so helpful, helping me dry my clothes and give back to me on the same day. And they keep my room very clean as well. And the pool is super nice and decors of the whole Riad is very traditional and authentic. The little garden just in front of the room is a shared place and actually I can use any places within, which one feels like home.
The location is not convenient to foreigner like me. Car cannot be reached at the door and Fes Medina is like a maze to foreigners. Yet the Riad managed to get someone to carry my luggage from car park which is like 10 mins away, though the man is asking quite a lots of tips which I think it's the responsibility of the Riad which make sure we can reach the property easily and comfortably. The lighting in the room is quite dim to me. if one more table is placed in the room, it would be better and sockets is not very straight forward to use.

Verified reviewThe location inside the medina, close to the Blue Gate, restaurants, taxis, tour pick ups, cash machine, etc but also within walking distance of the depths of the medina (tannery, mausoleum, madrassa, etc). It's very easy to find once you get your head around its location within the medina. Very friendly and accommodating staff, always eager to help. Beautiful riad with different areas at different levels to just sit and relax, listening to the water fountain that sits at the centre of one of the courtyards. It also has a lovely roof terrace where breakfast is served every morning. Our room was on the 1st floor and had a lovely balcony overlooking the main courtyard. Courtesy water, dates and nuts awaited our arrival. Breakfast was limited to a traditional Moroccan but it was still nice.
Nothing really. I've seen bad reviews regarding stairs. I agree the stairs were a bit steep to navigate at times, but every building I entered in Fez was the same or even worse. For me, it only added to its authenticity and charm.

Verified reviewClose to medina market.
Location in the medina. Hard to find. Tall, narrow steps, breakfast location and quality. Small retrofitted rooms. Anybody with knee or heart issues should avoid. The typical riad courtyard was small.

Verified reviewComfortable bed
Our room smelled of sewer gas. We came back to our room to find the housekeepers running water down the drain in the bathroom to diminish the odour- so they tried to lessen. The hot water tap on the bathroom didn’t turn on. Rooms old and needs some care. Wifi not very strong

Verified reviewBeautiful interior decor and very well appointed rooms. Lovely place to have a mint tea. Very welcoming staff.
Rooftop was closed for renovations It was my 50th birthday but the hotel did nothing extra for me 😞 although they did help transfer baggage to our new Riad which was extremely helpful.

Verified reviewMy girlfriend and I had an amazing time in this beautiful Riad. The building is wonderful to look at and surprisingly big! Despite this, the staff took time to communicate with all of the visitors and made us along with many around us feel welcome. Special thanks to Zohail for working around the clock to help us enjoy our stay, and everyone working there is really kind and holds themselves to the highest standards. Oh, and the room is unbelievable too! Couldn't believe the size of the place and the style of the room (especially the bathroom) was really nice. The location is honestly spot on, right between the Bab Boujloud and the Tanneries/Madrasa. This is a no-brainer if you want to visit Fes. Thank you for a lovely stay. Acts of kindness from the Riad which helped make this experience so special: 1. Zohail helped us find a late night bite on our first day as we didn't get to the Riad until 11pm and lots of places had shut 2. We had a lovely breakfast complimentary every morning at the Riad. This was joined with a lovely chat with the staff in the morning who checked on us to see if we liked the Riad and were enjoying our stay. 3. While breakfast was normally 8-10, Zohail made sure that we had breakfast by 7:30 as we needed to catch an early van to Chefchaouen. 4. The staff kindly cleaned our room everyday so we returned to a clean space at the end of everyday. 5. We thought you could take a regular taxi to the airport, through checking in on us they found out this was our plan and informed us this wasn't possible. They then offered to help by organising a taxi pickup with a set price which eased our nerves! 6. We discovered you needed to print boarding passes off for Fes airport the day before flying and they printed off the passes for us to ensure there were no difficulties. P.S - sorry for accidentally taking the key, I hope the taxi driver returned it!

Verified reviewLocation was perfect for the medina and the property was beautiful! Each room is unique & the details in the architecture were amazing. The service was exceptional, the dinner our first night was especially amazing! Highly recommend the chicken tagine. We felt safe the entire time and they even packed us breakfast to go when we had to leave early our last day! Overall a great stay.
It would be hard to find on your own for the first time (especially if it’s your first time in Fes and you have luggage) so just make sure you ask for help carrying bags to the hotel. After that it should be easy to get around.

Verified reviewVery pleasing to the eye, traditional with a touch of class. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming, always smiling and prompt to meet every request.
The value for the money of the extras, food and beverage, does not compare with what you can find around town.

Verified reviewVery beautiful! It met all my expectations for Morocco raid. Welcome cookies are delicious. All stuff is professional and friendly. The Beef and Apricot Tagine is the best one that I ever had in Morocco.
The bed in our room was too close to the wall, a little hard to get through but not a big deal

Verified reviewThe riad was absolutely charming. The location is perfect if staying inside the Medina during your stay. Hassan, Rachid and Mohammed were very attentive to our needs and always ready to help.
Lots of steep stairs- but I imagine all the structures in the Medina are built the same way.

Verified reviewThis place looked just like the pictures! And the staff were amazing. Rasheed and Hasan were attentive, friendly and ridiculously helpful. Truly appreciated their care in doing anything they could to make our stay better. My sister had an issue in her room and they immediately moved her. And when they found out it was her birthday, they took the initiative to decorate her room as a special surprise. Breakfast on the rooftop was also amazing with great views of the Medina.
I was fine with this but if you have issues with stairs, this is not the place for you.

Verified reviewExceptionally beautiful property in a tranquil location in the “old Medina”. We loved how friendly, helpful and attentive the staff were. Especially Mohamed and Hassan and the other young man at breakfast. The team also arranged to have a driver pick us up from Casablanca as the trains were full. And Nourdrine, the driver, was fantastic as well. Lastly, Mohamed organized a half day tour of the Medina with Hassan who was terrific. Definitely high on our stays in Morocco!
Nothing!
