Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicYou can quite hear everything from outside and coach beds are close to each other, so if you're unlucky and someone snores, you have it quite direct
Good location, clean comfortable bed, nice rooftop location for relaxing (I had to leave early, so I didn't try breakfast)

United KingdomLocation is just 5 minutes from jeema el fna sq and 10 minutes from the Jewish quarter. Perfect if you want to be close to everything. It is down a small alleyway, very difficult to find, so ask the hostel beforehand for directions, as I walked around in circles for an hour before I found it. Nice, small building, with lovelly terrace to enjoy the simple breakfast. Pancakes, bread, honey and jam, and lovelly cinnamon flavoured coffee. Would be better if it was a buffet though, as waiting to be served often meant rushing if you had a trip booked. Good wifi throughout. Female dorms are located off reception area so you can hear noise from other guests. Take earplugs. Lockers are available to hire for €5 and you need to pay €2 for a towel. A hairdryer was available, and you can use the fridge in the kitchen to store foods. Great value for a short stay.

GermanyMaybe some parts of the apartment could be a bit cleaner. But the beds and linen were absolutely fresh and clean.
The host Omar is a super friendly and helpful person. The apartement we booked was not available but he offered a good alternative. The area is nice and just a few steps from the center of town. The terrace bathroom is great.

Czech RepublicNot their fault, but the copy-able location on Booking.com takes you to the wrong place: type in the *name* and it’s very easy to find: go to Jemaa el-Fnaa and go from there.
The location, steps from Jemaa el-Fnaa was amazing; the staff, especially Hima were lovely, the roof terrace was awesome, the showers hot, the WiFi solid, the curtained-bunks comfy and private, and the kitchen was great for those on a budget. I will absolutely stay here again when I’m in Marrakech 😁

GermanyThe staff were really helpful. I hope they maintain their friendliness towards guest and helping them not get scammed in Marrakech. The breakfast was also good, although a small buffet would be better like other hostels since you have to wait for the bread. Frequent cleaning of toilet is also advised. The beds were comfortable and there is a curtain for privacy. Very central location and easy to find with google maps.

United KingdomThe bathroom tap was loose. There is a gap in the ceiling between the toilet and the shower so if you are doing one you can hear whatever people are doing in the next one. I don't think there was ac/heating in the rooms so it can be a little cold at night during winter (I visited January). Basic room.
The location is excellent. You are right next to the big square Jemaa el fnaa which is lively and I really enjoyed the atmosphere there. They provide breakfast in the morning which was crepes bread with honey marmalade and butter and tea or coffee and juice. It was simple but convenient to start the day. The rooms all have lockers that you can rent and lock your belongings in which is useful and you can rent a towel. The roof terrace where you have breakfast and can relax is a nice touch. The people I met (staff and guests) there were friendly and social

AustraliaIt can be a bit noisy at night due to sounds travelling through the central courtyard (including the doorbell).
The hostel is in a great location! Easy to reach especially if you're coming off the bus in Jemaa el-Fna, and I wasn't bothered by neighbourhood noise. The breakfast is a good start to the day, and while the beds are very solid I found them to be comfortable. The staff are lovely and always there to help. Great showers too!
