How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe loved the Atlas Berber Lodge. Our room was large, and the beds were very comfortable. The views from the terraces were beautiful. The staff are all very kind and welcoming. Breakfasts and meals were excellent. Atlas Berber helped us find a guide for a day's walking in the mountains which was a highlight.

Verified reviewThe staff is friendly and laid back. The owner took the time to discuss with us and show us how to make traditional and herbal tea. They can help you organize trekking for all levels of difficulty. The breakfast is good and generous, you can also order food for dinner. The view from the terrace is exceptional. The location is also very nice and quiet, with a short walk from the village or the waterfall.

Verified reviewMy wife and I recently enjoyed five wonderful nights staying at the Atlas Berber Lodge, and we specifically chose this time of year to enjoy the beauty of the lush green woodland valleys in full leaf, together with the abundance of spring flowers fueled by the melting snow from the mountains towering above Imlil. Our ever warm and friendly host Abdul, provided us with superb service throughout our stay, and it was a joy to spend so much time with him, and to make a new friend in the process. Chef Fatima's meals were sublime, and the Atlas Berber Lodge makes the best Tagines in Morocco. We arrived late around 10 pm at night, yet our hosts still specially prepared a delicious dinner for us, before we went to bed. The atmosphere is ever warm, friendly, chilled, relaxed and informal, and it was a joy to stay at the lodge. The views from our balcony were breathtakingly magnificent, and we spent all five days exploring the valleys, waterfalls and woodland paths surrounding Imlil, with the help of our dear friends Abdul, and Ousmana. Thank you Abdul, Fatima and Ousmana. Andy & Wendy. North Wales.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Auberge Atlas Berber Lodge and we had a wonderful experience. The welcome from Abderrahmane was exceptional—he is kind, friendly, and very hospitable. He provided us with a beautiful and very clean family room with a private shower and bathroom. The room also had a terrace with an amazing view of the Imlil waterfalls and the surrounding mountains. The atmosphere was peaceful and incredibly relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay!

Verified reviewEverything! We loved it, especially : - Mr Abdul’s hospitality, communication and friendliness - The delicious food (breakfast and dinner) - The views from the bedrooms and from all the balconies and terraces - The very modern bedroom (with so many electric outlets and AC/heating) and bathroom (great shower) - The Moroccan / Berber style everywhere (carpets, decoration etc) - The location, slightly outside the main street of Imlil – so we could hear donkeys, birds and roosters – a very pleasant walk to and from the centre (a sort of mini-hike !)
It could not have been better

Verified reviewGood food, abdul is a good host.
When we checked in, the bathroom had someone’s underwear hanging and no toilet paper. My wife woke the next morning with bed bug bites all over. My daughter has dust mite allergies and was fine in 4 other hotels in Morocco but had a bad reaction the night we were at Atlas Berber. The blankets have no sheet covers so you are in direct contact with the blankets as all previous guests. We dont expect luxury in Imlil but atlas berber did not meet our minimum expectations on hygiene.

Verified reviewThe best at this accomodation are kind owners, nice breakfast, comfortable and clean beds and beautiful views.
We noticed this at several moroccon places. If somebody eats his meal, the rest of the food and dishes are left at the table. We had to clean our glasses ourselves. So this is what could be better.

Verified reviewA big thank you to Mohammed and team for welcoming our young family for two nights. We were linked up with a wonderful local guide who took us on a day trek & supported in sorting our transportation. Breakfasts were amazing, dinner was great. Room size excellent and the view is stunning. The walk to Imlil has a shortcut which involved lots of steps but we enjoyed the challenge, as did our kids. We cannot wait to return & wouldn't change a thing.

Verified reviewAbsolutely incredible views and Abdulraman was incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. His breakfast was perfect for a day of hiking in the mountains!
We stayed when it was extremely cold in January. A better heating system in the guest lounge would have made it a more comfortable place to stay.
