The family that own this place are so friendly and genuine. It felt more like a homestay but they weren't intrusive at all and would do anything for you. Rooms are basic but comfortable. They have Aircon, some people used this for heating but we had an upstairs room and it was warm enough and we were given lots of blankets. Loved being able to sit in the terrace in the daytime. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Weren't attached to the room but very close by. There was hot water for the showers and we were provided with clean towels. A very good breakfast and they arranged this early for us when we had an early bus. A 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Merzouga and a 5 minute walk to the coach station. We had lunch with them too one day which was a Berber pizza which was very nice. We spent new year there and they made a fire for us and brought us cake and snacks which was really special. We felt like part of the family. We booked our desert trip here through a travel agent associated with this accommodation. It all went to plan and we enjoyed it.

Very interesting traditional building with adobe walls and a terrace with views of the dunes. The room was a good size and nicely decorated. The helpful staff assisted with tour bookings and onward travel.

Many items do not match the online description. Although we booked a room with a private bathroom, it was in fact shared with others and was on the other side of the courtyard. There was no "tumble drier" although there was a clothesline outside. Although we were told to go up to the terrace to look at the stars, the door was locked at night.

    - The host, Idir, was a very nice man - Dinner and breakfast were very good

Some small repairs could make a huge difference. The door from the bathroom couldn’t close so you had to keep it closed with your foot; the lid from the toilet falls at your back when you’re on the toilet, you have to open a faucet before being able to flush, the sink was leaking. No big issues or complaints, but fixing these would make it more comfortable.

Breakfast (included) was delicious. We opted in for dinner (included soup, tagine meal, appetizers and fruits ) which was home-made and one of the best we had in Morocco. The owner made us feel at home. He also arranged for us a private camel trip, which exceeded our expectations. The location is about 15-minute walk from the sand desert front. Very peaceful neighborhood. There is a roof terrace to see sunrise. Traditional rustic room with a private entrance and bathroom, hot water shower and heated bedroom (you can regulate the heat). Plenty of warm extra blankets and bathrobes provided. We arrived in the middle of the night, which was not a problem.

One of the reasons we had chosen this property for was that it featured a private sauna in the room. Unfortunately there was no sauna. It should be removed from the room description. A modest amount of money should be invested into fixing a couple of annoying inconveniences like door hinges and door handle.

Traditional Berber house with amazing hospitality from the family. Idir, his brother and the whole family have been extremely welcoming and helpful. On arrival was met at the bus station and took me to the house and had a delicious meal even if quite late in the evening. The best thing about the stay was that Idir and his family made me feel like at home especially the last day when coming back from the desert I had to wait the bus until the evening. Delicious meal are prepared . They also offer desert tours etc. My best stay in Morocco! Extremely recommended if in Merzouga !!

    Everything was perfect

The family who run the auberge are very helpful and cooked us great meals. There were spaces for us to lounge away from the heat and the WiFi worked. We also enjoyed a desert trip that fitted our requirements. A memorable time.

It's a traditional bereber house. The host family is very kind. They help us with all the activities we wanted to do at the desert. (Explore the desert with a car and sleep in a desert camp). We tried in the stance the pizza bereber (it's completely vegetarian). While we do the activities in the desert the help us to keep our backpacks and let us have showers. Totally recommended.

I felt very comfortable in this nice little auberge. It is a beautiful old berber house, nicely decorated with a little garden. The stuff ist a very nice family that welcomed me very friendly. So I felt like home. Hamid also organized a solo desert trip with a very nice and trustworthy guide. That was important for me as a woman who travels alone. The breakfast was also very good and the family will cook for you some delicious food, if you order it. Thank you for the nice stay!

In the evening the streets there in Merzouga are very dark and not very much alive. So I didn't want to leave the house at that time of the day. But I experienced this in other cities of marroco too. So it is nothing about the auberge.

Idir and his family are delightful hosts from the moment I got there to the moment I left. His brother greeted me at the bus stop and got me to the building. There I had a delicious dinner. They offered to help me find any activity I wanted to do whether it was a 4x4 excursion or camping in the desert. I just wanted to hike around though so that was how I spent my time there. I had an early morning on the day of my departure, I had to catch the 7:30am bus to Marrakech, and they checked in to make sure I was awake and gave me an early breakfast which was most appreciated for the long trip. I would recommend this place to anyone! Also they have friendly cats!
