Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room was quite cold, with no heating options... Owner readily supplied us with blankets though! Also the bathroom wasn't very modern and hot water was limited.
Run by a family who were very nice (but quite busy too), breakfast was super nice with pastries, pancakes, omelettes and different spreads for bread!

United KingdomUmmmmmm.....nothing!
From the friendly and delicious welcome drinks and snacks, to the waved farewells with blown kisses as we left, Mohammed and his lovely family, made us feel like honoured guests. Attractive traditional Berbere home. Great big room, plenty of blankets, private bathroom with very much appreciated hot water A very substantial breakfast was included in the price. If you're looking for a boutique hotel...this is not for you. We had a marvellous 3 nights here... and ...god willing..will return

United KingdomThis is not a reflection on the property at all, but in the village, which is very quiet, there is no way of getting cash, which is needed everywhere. There is one tourist shop who offer cash from a debit card transaction at a fee of 10%. Bear this in mind and take enough cash for your stay!
Mohammad and his family are exceptionally welcoming. friendly, helpful and so delightful. The property is very authentic and you are staying in a family home - The rooms are perfect, beds very comfortable. The breakfast was good and traditional and as a whole was a thoroughly calm, relaxing and perfect stay - just what I was looking for! Location is perfect and the stars of a night are superb. The property is about a 2km walk from the village, either on the road or on the dried river bed. A perfect location to explore or go for a run.

Czech RepublicI was badly surprized about the distance from Ait ben haddou medina, because there is written about 250m from medina on booking.com. BUT I's grateful for that in the morning, because birds were singing from garden so nicely. It was actualy my nicest morning from 16 mornings in Marroco...
Especialy morning was very pleasnt... Birds sang very nicely across window to the garden. Then the breakfast was Very tasty and reach! The owner is friendly and nice person...

United KingdomI liked it all.
As others said, lovely family. Nice big living room. Bedroom was fine. It's basic and authentic. If you want five star luxury definitely not for you but I really liked it. It's 2k out of Ait B right on the main road so you're out of the tourist hustle. You can walk in through gardens and trees to get there. Food was good and parking.

PolandIt was one of the best place where I have been in Morocco. And I have been in at least, 6 different ones. The owner and his family were super friendly, it was all what you need. Breakfast, dinner of you need, water. They treat me as a one more person at home, not as a traveler. I strongly recommend when you want to rest, have a peace and feel really calm. About 20 minutes from the town and because of it was super comfy- without a lot of people. Thank you for all! Anna:)

FranceIt’s rustic and the family also live in the same building just so you know.
The owner was super friendly and helpful. Really welcomed me into his home. Please note that I was actually staying in their second property on the other side of the road. Dinner was great, plenty of food. They helped hook me up with a place to stay for my next stop. I was travelling by bike

United StatesThis truly felt like a Berber homestay and it was lovely to be surrounded by a family after a long journey. It was clear that we were cared for and felt comfortable in the family’s home. We ate in the large dining room and played with the family’s children. We felt so comfortable that we chose to spend time in the living room instead of in our bedroom and it was lovely to play football with the family instead of feeling like just another guest at a hotel!

GermanyWe didn‘t mind walking, but the city of Ait Ben Haddou is about a 20 minutes walk away. The good thing about it is that you don’t have to pay for parking.
Host ist extremely friendly. Really cool experience to sleep in a traditional Berber house. Parking infront of the house. In the evening we made music together. You can have dinner if you want and breakfast is really good. Definitely recommend to stay.

Czech RepublicTrue location of this hotel is really not in the city center as it was marked on the booking map and exactly this was the reason why we have choosen this hotel. Explanation of the owner that this mistake made booking.com is not ok for me, he is responsible what he is offering on pages. Location is more than 2km far from the vilage.
Breakfast was average in comparing other Morocco experiences. Dinner was very good. Staff was very friendly.

United KingdomThis property isn't as described. It isn't in the centre of the village as suggested and does not have the vast majority of the facilities claimed. It is a very basic remote hostel 2k from Ait Ben Haddou. The 'airport shuttle' involves flagging down a passing taxi (if you are lucky - and not in the evening) or friend to give you a lift and the electricity is turned off overnight. The owner was friendly and breakfast plentiful, and if you are looking for a genuine Moroccan experience and know what you are booking that is fine. But for me it ruined the point of my stay as I needed to actually stay in the village itself. I have raised these concerns with both the owner and Booking.com and waited before writing this review to give them time to correct the listing. However they have not done so, so I have no choice but to leave this review so others understand fully what they are booking so they can check it meets their requirements.
This property isn't as described, especially the location, which ruined the point of my visit.
