How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt's outside of Tafraout (10 min drive) and is in a nice secluded tranquil spot. The last bit off driving is a bit adventurous, luckily our car had high clearance. It has a communal sitting room and terrace with great views. It can be a bit cold in winter (there's no heating) but luckily it has a good hot shower. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner was okay, but definitely try some nice restaurants in Tafraout as well. There's a mini supermarket, some other small shops, a bakery and fruit/vegetable stalls in Tafraout, it's a nice place to wander around.
Thank you for your comment. I found it appropriate for you to write a book about tourism in Morocco.

Verified reviewVery comfortable guesthouse, quiet and isolated in the valley. They offered nice and cheap dinner in the evening. The host was very friendly and gave me tips about the hiking trails.

Verified reviewQuiet, secluded location with beautiful views of the village and mountains. Basic amenities. A little harder to find. If you're not looking for luxury, but peace and quiet and beautiful views - this is a great choice.

Verified reviewEverything, the breakfast, Tajines, the hot shower, and the owner Abdullah was so kind and friendly.
It was really hard to find that place, but I asked several times and made it after 30 minutes (GPS would have helped). The matrass was a little hard and knobbly, but every other thing was great.

The GPS took us on an impossible route and we got very lost and were driving on very rough dirt roads.

Verified reviewEVERYTHING! Abdullah is so helpful and kind, from guiding us in the dark with the torch when we arrived and were lost. To, teaching us a little bit about the Berber culture (so interesting!). We chatted about local climbing and walking spots. The meals were absolutely incredible, he even made us a quick omelette when we first arrived quite late and were a little hungry. This place is quite out of the way, so come prepared with anything you need whether it's alcohol/snacks otherwise it's a drive away into Tafraout or a tiny little shop in the next village where they only speak Arabic. We were a group of 4 friends and were the only people staying here, for many of us it was our favourite spot in Morocco! Tanmirt Abdullah, we can't wait to visit again!
Thank you, Maxi. You were very nice and friendly guests. Greetings to all of you. I hope to see you soon.

Verified reviewA small family led guesthsus. Simple but cozy, with amazing views from the terrace. We enjoyed the home coked dinner a lot.
The last km is on a dirt road, but it was no problem to drive it with our small Kia

Verified reviewQuiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. A home from home in every respect. The owner, Abdullah made us feel so welcome in a gentle low-key way. Food was exceptional! We ate at Tililia every night instead of going into Tafroute, the local town.

Verified reviewAuberge Tilila has been the best accomodation we have experienced in our 2 weeks in Morocco. The room was spacious, and clean. In front of our room was a very nice salon to relax and a balcony where we had our dinners. The view of the Ameln Valley from the balcony was amazing! Sunsets were delightful. The food was excellent. Best "tagine aux pruneaux" I have ever eaten. Our host and his niece were really attentive, friendly and helpful. Overall, we wished we had stayed longer. We highly recommend Auberge Tilila to any travelers. All was perfect. Great value!

Verified reviewFabulous location with amazing view of the mountains. Abdella was a lovely host who was very helpful, interesting and kind. Very quiet place. Lovely building with terrace to sit out on and view the stars. Lovely rooms and communal areas with very pleasing decor. Delicious home cooked food. Best tagines in Morocco. Great cooking by Fatima. Thank you for the delicious farewell cake Fatima and Madiha. Within walking distance of beautiful gorges, rock faces to climb, mountain hikes and historical Berber villages and cultural sites. Absolutely highly recommended. We will be back!
