How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewReasonable price for the area. Had paid secured parking for motorbike very close. Quite at night ...no street noise. Been here on 2 separate visits. On the edge of medina ... rather than in the middle
Would be great if had a refrigerator for guests to use. Fans in rooms would be a plus.

Verified reviewA stylish traditional riad. Well situated on the edge of the Medina in a quiet suburb. Welcoming host, good instructions. The room was very comfortable and I had an excellent nights sleep. The shared bathrooms are clean, and work well Many thanks!

Verified reviewFatima was very friendly and helpful. We received excellent instructions to find the accommodation.
The accommodation is a bit out of the way. But we didn't mind the short walk into the center of the Medina. The breakfasts were quite nice but a bit basic.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was good and always ready on time. The staff are very friendly though communication was a bit challenging with the help of google translate we were able to communicate to each other. I also enjoyed a typical Moroccan dinner following my request.
The instruction on the water heater at the bathroom was in Arabic. Didn't know how it operates.

Verified reviewBasic hostel. Room was plain, but good. Clean. Clean sheets. Good toilet. Staff was helpful. Just fine stay.
Location was 1km away from action. House was hard to find. Total price of 26€ was too much for such basic twin room.

Verified reviewA very kind host and good communication with the rental owners. A plus for sending detailed directions to the accommodation. The downside was the lack of power outlets—only one in the room. The room’s standard was not very high.

Verified reviewLovely riad, located a bit outside of the medina where it is more quiet. Still in walking distance to many attractions. Very friendly and helpful owner. Really the best tajine in town. So I recommend dinner here!

The mattresses are rock hard and hollow, very uncomfortable. Desperately need to be replaced. No insulation/heating so very cold at night in the winter.

Verified reviewWe eventually found it and where able to sleep
The customer service: the transfer they had agreed to send to the airport had a mysterious car crash. The property doesn’t not have an address or even signed. The locations sends you to pharmacy in Marrakesh. So booking a taxi to location of riad is extremely difficult. Then once dropped off on a random street, the owner was supposed to send a video of how to navigate the medina to the riad. To add further salt to the situation they don’t even send the video leaving us standing on the streets for 15 minutes with limited idea of where our stay was. Eventually they picked up and sent a random individual to come point us in the right direction. Which it luckily was but this whole experience felt very dodgy and unsafe. Overall pretty stressful and sketchy The room was a room and it was a bed to sleep in.
Thanks for your comment. With all due respect, I think your comment is not useful to me or a potential guest?! 1. We asked for your help and reserved a tourist car for you to transport you from the airport to Riyadh. Unfortunately, the driver was involved in a traffic accident that prevented him from arriving on time. 2. Send me the exact location and video, we will not be responsible for your lack of internet access. 3. I hope that when you travel next time, you will be a little brave, because you were afraid of everything and doubted everything, even though you are young. 4 Our Riad Al Adat welcomes women traveling alone and enjoying their comfort without fear or worry. On the same day of your arrival, a woman was traveling alone and was happy with the stay and extended her stay.

The room was ok-ish. There could be a common kettle for having hot water/beverages. A few more hangers.
