Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CARAVAN SERAI is my favourite place to visit and spend time, the hotel facilities are exceptional, the staff are out of the world outstanding, this hotel deserves 5 golden stars and more. Have stayed here many years now and every time the experience has been even better. highly recommend this hotel. By far the greatest place to stay in Marrakesh.

The room was super spacious. The staff was professional, kind and they met our request. It was quiet and that's why we chose a Riad away from the Medina. Excellent price.

Romania- As a woman, at the beginning I felt a bit unsafe walking in the area surrounding the hotel. But there were no incidents whatsoever. It was a Moroccan experience in itself. - We would have enjoyed more vegetables in the menu, especially at breakfast. But this is only a personal choice; the breakfast was generous and very tasty (although too many sweets for our taste).
- I loved our spacious room (a triple suite which was simply yet stunning decorated). - The entire property of the hotel is wonderful - a mix of rustic luxury, with a lovely garden (with Bougainvillea flowers, cats, turtles, pigeons), a nice pool (although the weather in late February did not allow swimming), and beautiful local wood decorations. It is heaven compared to the chaos in central Marrakech. - The food menu is short but all food is very tasty (tajine with prunes and beef was my favorite and my daughter loved the apple pie and the crepes at breakfast). - The hammam experience is a must. - Special thanks to the entire staff! We enjoyed our talks and learned many things about Moroccan life from our chats. Keep up the good work!

NetherlandsOur room was on the side of the road so sometimes you would hear a motorbike or a car passing by.
This was our first night in Morocco and the place was absolutely breathtaking. We arrived in the dark and it just looked like a fairytale. It is very beautifully decorated. We were also very happy to have a good meal in this place where there is nothing around. We were very curious about the rest of the rooms and the manager took the time to show us some of them the next morning. All absolutely beautiful. Staff was very friendly as well. We had a great stay here and would definately recommend it for a beautiful experience.

United KingdomThe location around the premises is an authentic morrocan community. With some dirt tracks and rubbish around. Don't let this put you off as the establishment itself is a tranquil escape.

United KingdomThe only thing I could say is the place could have a slightly better approach to the property. As you're about to come close the property, you feel like the surroundings are not the great. But once you've checked-in, it is great! Also, this place hardly has access to public transport, but it was okay for us as we either had taxis or had rented a car.
The overall hospitality was fabulous - everything was great!

United KingdomThe food. We actually requested a local soup called 'Harrira' which was made for us by the chefs, it was beautiful. The cous cous is delicious as well. As for the rest of the food, it could do with improvement and variety, if only they'd showcase the delicacies of Morocco as opposed to trying to accommodate western tourists wanting a poor quality hamburger, they'd be on to a winner! Anyway, the food could be better, it's okay for a night or two but not longer than that. We went to the Mandarin Oriental one night and the food there was exceptional, and only as expensive as what you'd pay for a decent night out in London.
This was our third time back to the beautiful & calm Caravan Serai. We stayed in the Beldi Suite which is a lovely 2-bedroom room with it's own pool and sun-deck area. It also has a separate walk-in wardrobe and bathroom with a separate WC. We love this room because you can relax together as a family instead of using the larger main pool, although that pool is beautiful as well. The building is an older building, so some people may say that cleaning is an issue, but personally I think it is part of the charm of an older building and I would say that the property is clean with the cleaning staff onsite very often. The property does seem to have lost of it's snugs and artwork compared to we were last there, but it was 8 years ago! The bird life and tortoises are lovely, and there is a pushy cat who will expect to be petted, but that all adds to the old world charm of staying in Morocco. The reception team are accommodating and arranged for a real wood fire to be lit on one of the nights we stayed, which was a nice touch...the house wine is reasonable and of good quality, it is a Morrocan wine, although I can't recall the exact name. It was nice to have a midnight swim and a sip of red wine whilst the stars shone and the family were asleep. The massages are great, and we had fun in the hammam which was nice to do as a family and it makes your skin feel so refreshed after, well worth doing early on in your trip. The hotel is about a 20min drive from the Medina, but for us, it is a quiet oasis of calm that we feel is our little secret. I'd recommend it for a few days relaxation, but not longer than that.

United KingdomEverything about this hotel is beautiful, the staff are so warm, friendly and welcoming, the food is authentic produce, home cooked and delicious and the building itself…well it is like something out of a dream! Situated in a peaceful village overlooking agricultural land and palm trees the atmosphere is very soothing with the sounds of birds. Aesthetically it just doesn’t get any better! ❤️ Wonderful place.

United KingdomIt is quite remote and cabs weren't cheap which mean it can be expensive if you want to do a lot of activities in central Marrakesh. But considering this hotel was cheaper than some other options without private pool facilities the cost evened it self out.
The room was very large, felt like the size of an apartment. The outdoor pool area was equally spacious and very rustically beautiful. The hotel food was delicious, we had a chicken tagine for lunch which was great. Staff were also very helpful when it came to booking a range of activities.

AustraliaOnly that we couldn’t stay longer.
We had a night at Carvan Serai as a stop in Marrakech. We loved it so much we spent a second night. It is like an oasis on the edge of Marrakech. The rooms are beautiful and every nook and cranny delivers a visual joy. The food and wine were top notch and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. After our motorcycle rental fell through they even helped us hire a car. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Caravan Serai.

MoroccoThe only negative side of the hotel is the location. Since it is a very authentic area, in the night you can hear cats and dogs fighting loudly. We only stayed one night but we can imagine that this happens regularly which strongly disrupts the sleep. It is generally not the most quiet hotel due to the way the rooms are located and the animals which surround the place.
This Riad is a wonderful place for anyone who does not want to stay in the heart of Marrakech. While it is roughly 25 minutes from the city centre, the Riad is absolutely worth the drive. The location is in an authentic local village with no touristic attractions around - which we found even more charming. Otherwise, the Riad has been very well designed to create a modern, cozy and comfortable place for its guests. The rooms had their original charm and so did the entire hotel. The service, food and everything else was absolutely worth the price we paid.

United KingdomLocation was a bit far from the centre -Medina , I think about 11 kms and a lil interior too. Our taxi driver from the airport when we landed at 11 pm ( long Qs at the airport and took 3 hours to get out ) struggled to find it but not the other taxi drivers. Restaurant food not great .
The staff were lovely. Friendly helpful chatty accomodating of our requests . Especially Hashim and Fouad at reception , Fouad at breakfast and Khalid who drove us around a few times . Most of the staff spoke English. The rooms and accomodation are is rustic rural style but also visibly old ( some cracks in the walls, old saggy sofas etc) but that doesn’t take away from its charm. The Azaan/ call for prayer from a local mosque nearby at regular times adds to the Moroccan feel . The only downside was the location was far from the main tourist attractions, so had to go in a taxi to and fro but was also quieter than the centre . Maybe hiring a car would make it easier which we didn’t . And loads of cute friendly cats everywhere in the hotel which our children loved. Breakfast was good -Freshly made In front of you -crepes and Moroccan flatbreads with boiled eggs cheese butter jam honey fruits and yoghurt. The restaurant food was not the best it was basic-although staff were lovely.
