How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The ambient music. The hotel would gain a lot if they had a curated playlist to suit the hotel calm and cosy environment.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Lemonary Marrakesh in July. Overall, the beds were very comfortable — a definite highlight of our stay. On the positive side, despite booking during July, the property was nearly empty — which may appeal to travellers looking for a quiet stay.
The bathrooms could use a light renovation: in some showers, there are already visible spots of rust. A major drawback is the distance from Marrakech city centre — approximately 28 km, with travel taking around 40 minutes one way. The property's shuttle service to the city is also quite expensive: 300 MAD per way (i.e. 600 MAD round‑trip) — equivalent to about $33 one‑way or $65 round‑trip. Definitely worth considering before booking. We had no other issues during our visit.

Verified reviewThe staff were brilliant. The site was lovely. The ground staff were always cleaning - absolutely immaculate. The main area of the suite was beautiful and the bathrooms looked very good. The wrap-around balcony was something we were looking forward to lounging on, but the only bad weather or our whole visit to Morocco set in during the afternoon/evening of our visit. Ordering meals or room service was done via WhatsApp, which was very convenient. The lemon pressé was divine, and I enjoyed the Moroccan breakfast items. The very best thing seems underwhelming, but anyone who has driven in a hot country will understand how good this is: the parking was covered.
The approach to the site is somewhat disconcerting, given the lack of a road surface. There were clear needs for repairs such as a broken window pane, a difficult to lock patio door, hanging wires in the twin room en-suite, switches that seemed to do nothing and lights that didn't switch on. The shower in the twin room ensuite was low powered. The decor of the twin room was not awful but did not fit the aesthetic of the rest of the suite. I found the evening meal quite bland, and we both left quite a lot, which was a shame. The outdoor seating area for meals also had wiring problems.

Verified reviewFrom the moment we arrived at the Lemonary Hotel, we knew we had discovered something truly special. Nestled in the heart of Marrakesh, this hidden gem blends modern luxury with authentic Moroccan charm in the most seamless way. The rooms were immaculate, beautifully designed with local touches, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the fragrant toiletries, made it clear that this hotel truly cares about its guests’ experience. But what truly set our stay apart was the incredible staff — Hassan, Idriss, and Imad. These three gentlemen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, safe, and completely at ease. We’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, but the Lemonary Hotel stands out as a place we will return to again and again. If you’re visiting Marrakesh, don’t hesitate—this is the place to stay. Thank you, Hassan, Idriss, and Imad, for a magical experience. We’re already counting the days until we return. 💛

Verified reviewThe grounds were lovely, the room was big, comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Service could be slow. It once took 20 minutes to get a latte that I'd ordered. The other thing, which they don't have control of, is the bugs. There were a LOT of bugs but that's likely because we were in a rural area.

Verified reviewThis is a lovely hotel. A beautiful and quiet garden with lemon trees, big and spacious rooms, a wonderful pool and a great restaurant. The hotel also has various animals like chickens, rabbits, turtles, peacocks etc. And small very friendly kittens roaming the garden. All very clean and healthy. We were welcomed with lemonade made from the garden which was very nice. The hotel also has areas with activities like badminton, table tennis etc. The staff were so kind and helpful. Big thanks to Imad and all the staff. You all made the stay so relaxing. Thanks to Jamal for taking us around (The hotel has their own driver) and Abdessamad the head chef for the wonderful cuisine. Breakfast and dinners were very nice. Best couscous we’ve had on our trip.

Verified reviewThe Lemonary is a small boutique hotel about 40 mins from Marrakech. Do not let the distance put you off as it is super easy to get to and from Marrakech and The Lemonary has a driver, Hassan. As always it is the people that make the experiences more memorable. Kaoutar, greeted us like old friends, it was a smooth and quick check in with lots of smiles and good information about the hotel - not to mention their signature 'lemon' drink from the lemon groves that now surrounded us. Ridar had already messaged ahead with the menu so that we didn't miss out on lunch. It is a simple, local menu and the food delicious (thank you chef). As it is a small hotel they have a great system that you pre-order your lunch and supper a couple of hours before. This ensures that you food is fresh and ready to serve when you say. Genius idea but not one that we were used to but we soon got into the swing of it. Do not be afraid to ask outside of these times either as Ridar was always happy to help. Breakfast was amazing and it was on our second day that we met Idriss. He was super helpful, going above and beyond to ensure we had omelette's, juice and butter! Idriss served us lunch most days in our private villa by the pool and his attention to detail to present the table and lunch was amazing - thank you Idriss. Imad you run a fabulous hotel, great staff, good food and a genuine Moroccan experience - THANK YOU.

Verified reviewOur stay was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the exceptional service from the entire team. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. Our group was also able to book in some massages during our stay which were AMAZING! A special thanks to Imad, the manager, whose professionalism and attention to detail ensured everything ran smoothly. Idriss, our waiter, stood out for his polite and caring demeanor—his excellent English and warm personality made our evening meals. And Jamal, our driver, provided a transfer to the airport, which made our departure stress-free. There were also some playful kittens around the resort which added to our entertainment of the stay - but I can understand they are not for everyone whilst eating/relaxing. The level of service at The Lemonary was truly five-star, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others. A fantastic experience all around!
Potentially needed some more varied traditional dishes on the menu - particularly vegetarian/fish options? From reading the reviews we already knew how remote/isolated the hotel is, so this was no surprise and this was very much part of the 'relaxing' end to our trip in Marrakesh. But if you want to venture out to central Marrakesh you will need a car or use the shuttle service offered by the hotel.

Verified reviewBeautiful grounds - we wandered paths lined with lemon trees, sunbathed on a small secluded lawn and enjoyed reading on our private balcony right beside the attractive pool area. Very polite and attentive staff. An extremely clean and comfortable room. As others have noted, it is some way from Marrakech but this is why we booked it, and we enjoyed the calm after the bustle of the city. The driver delivered us to the airport perfectly on time on our last day.
Nothing. Just a warning that you need to book lunch or dinner an hour and a half in advance of the meal - and choose what you want to eat. They send you a menu on WhatsApp. I would recommend taking snacks with you as there is nowhere to buy food apart from at mealtimes. There is a fridge in the room and they provide bottled water. The food is good but the menu limited for vegetarians. The bar serves delicious mocktails before dinner.

Verified reviewIt's a fantastic place to stay at, especially if you want to have some restful and quiet days. The staff is extremely nice, caring and supportive. I would definitely recommend staying here.
They could just pay a bit more attention to the pool area (sometimes there would be no more towels available). Perhaps include extra daily dishes in the menu, apart from all dishes available, for more diversity. Also, include one or two more desserts, for a more diversified choice. Overall, minor things to improve the guests experience, but they are already great.

Verified reviewThis is a beautiful boutique hotel. Not many rooms and so consequently such personal service from the manager Imad who was happy for us to text him anything we needed to know and was so helpful. The rooms are a very high standard as is the food. The breakfast is not the British style but that’s the point of going abroad!! The waiters are so helpful and kind and work so hard! It’s about 40 mins away from the crowds of Marrakech but Jamal the driver took us wherever we needed to go including to meeting points for trips etc… there’s a reasonable fee for this. We did a hot air balloon trip which was so well organised, safe and an incredible experience as was the desert safari with quad bikes camels and a dinner fire show- such good value for money and a good way to experience some culture. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel and grounds tho and we would definitely return!!!
There was so alcohol be aware!!! We would like to see the hotel pet animals have a little more space to roam around but other than that everything was perfect

Verified reviewOnce you arrive, you are welcomed to a beautiful green place, very well designed for relaxation and isolation from the rest of the world and people. I will not repeat what others already wrote about the gardens and excellent room and other commodities. It is all true.
I will had points in which staying can be improved: - Breakfast is nice in general, but suffers from fundamental aspect: The kitchen is located far away from the breakfast venue and everything takes ages to arrive. As they don`t plan the meal correctly, this is a serious problem. For example, no butter is served, so you ask for and it arrives in 10 mins. Also, every things is served with long intervals and you have to wait a long time, staring of what is already on the table, before you actually start eating. Also, no traditional orange juice, served everywhere in Marroco. You have lemon and carrot juice, but must pay for the orange. Coffee is very bad. You have to pay to get a decedent coffee. As for the rooms , it is fine, but our kettle was broken and the safe was locked; took 20 mins to get someone to open it. The pool: Cold. Very cold. No idea why the hotel could not warm a bit the water. The pools are useless with water that cold. Finally, arrival. There is a dirt road which is relatively short and comfortable if you arrive from Marrakesh, but if you arrive from the the other direction, Waze and Google Maps will take you to an horrible long dirt road that is scary and that is so narrow that the plants will scratch your car. The hotel ever mentioned we had to come from the other side. So, in general, this is a very nice place, but it is obvious that the management tries to save money os small things on the backs of the guests. That is a pity.

There is almost 1km of bad road. It's located deeply between the farms. Be careful for your car.
