Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Hong KongThe bathroom floor was always soaking wet after showering because the water drainage wasn’t strong enough.
The place was rather cozy and the staff were very helpful. Mohamed made quite a number of suggestions regarding restaurants on my first day of arrival and was always available when I needed any help with finding locations of places. I always enjoyed the view during breakfast!

I love the location, rooftop and the staff. Beautiful hotel in the city center. I think this is the only hotel rooftop that you can see 90 degree view of Chefchouan. Next time I will stay the same hotel.

AustraliaThe shower in the small bathroom didn't have a curtain or doors to prevent the room getting wet, but it wasn't a major deal for me. It's a bit tough to find the property because it's in a maze of (totally beautiful) alleyways. Not really a negative, but it look me a little while of poking around and a helpful local to find it.
Absolutely value for money. Gorgeous view and great location! Helpful staff. I ended up staying in a single room attached to the shared rooftop terrace and it was amazing. The room itself was small and simple, but comfortable. The highlight was the terrace with a view over the water. Really cool spot to kick back and watch the world go by - and to enjoy the provided breakfast, which was lovely. The room itself also had a window with a view. I was given a mint tea and some sweet treats when I arrived. Nice touch!

United StatesIt can be quite loud but that’s what earplugs are for. Rooms and bathrooms were small and not new, but it was comfortable enough for our two nights.
The property is located inside the old Kasbah, above the Medina. The location is beautiful and exactly what I wanted for being in a historic city like Tangier. It had a small rooftop terrace for tea and breakfast. The Kasbah is hard to navigate- so let someone help you or ask the Dar to have someone meet you at the main Kasbah entrance.

CanadaIt’s quite humid indoors, but as far as I know, this is the situation in most hotels in Morocco. We turned on the heat on the air conditioner, and it became more comfortable.
We stayed here with my mum for 6 wonderful days. The best view in old Tangier – we spent every morning and night sitting on the roof. The streets of the medina are peaceful, safe, and full of lights and cameras. People are friendly and helpful, and there are cats everywhere, constantly meowing, but we loved it. The Riad is nice and cozy, and the kitchen is reasonably well-equipped. We made our own meals due to our dietary habits. The food markets in Tangier are amazing! Our host, Ali, was helpful and welcoming, always in touch and attentive to our needs and requests. The Riad recently changed owners and is still being improved. The new owners are very attentive to feedback and suggestions. We wish them the best of luck and hope they have many happy tourists.

We had a wonderful stay at this riad in the heart of Tangier’s old Medina. The location is perfect, offering amazing views. The staff were absolutely fantastic – kind, attentive, and always ready to help. A special thank you to Abla at the reception, who gave us the warmest welcome with tea and sweets upon arrival and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was another highlight – plentiful, varied, and truly delicious, a perfect way to start the day. The atmosphere of the riad itself is authentic and cozy, making it a peaceful retreat after exploring the bustling streets. Overall, this riad combines excellent location, warm hospitality, and great food – highly recommended!

United StatesI’m convinced this is the best place to stay in Tangier. Everything from the location to the service went above and beyond my expectations for a very affordable price. The absolute highlight of this riad is the receptionist, Abla. Abla went beyond what was expected for the typical role of a receptionist. Even before I got there, she was ensuring that I was safe and navigationally correct in where I was going which was extremely helpful. I was given all the best recommendations and guidance for my first time in Tangier and my first in Morocco. I’m extremely grateful for Abla’s extreme social ability and friendship as it absolutely made a difference in my trip overall positively. Even without her, my stay at Dar al ghazal was wonderful and I will absolutely be booking again in the future if I revisit.

United KingdomWe got a bit confused trying to find the hotel, it is in fact inside the medina but with the help of the locals we eventually found the place.
The hotel was just lovely. Our room got upgraded when we arrived, the inside was so colourful, beautiful and comfortable, featuring all Moroccan style furniture. The roof top was amazing to watch Tanger by night and had a sea view. We had breakfast there and that was lovely. Everything we ate was good especially accompanied with fresh mint tea. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we recommend staying there. We loved it 😊

United StatesWhen we first arrived, the staff was not very friendly, which set the tone for our stay. The rooms were small with tiny bathrooms and beds. In one of the rooms, the bathroom door couldn’t be closed because the handle was broken, and the garbage can didn’t work properly. On top of that, the air conditioning in one of the rooms stopped working in the middle of the night and only blew hot air, even though no one had changed the settings.
The only positive thing about this riad is its convenient location.
