Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAt my previous dar, breakfast was included, but here it comes at an additional cost.
We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time here. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, making it a relaxing base for our trip. The location was excellent — just a 6-minute walk to the spice market, which made it easy to explore the vibrant local culture. The ambiance of the dar was truly special, with a warm, authentic Moroccan feel that added charm to our stay. The interior design, the peaceful courtyard, and the welcoming atmosphere made it feel like a little oasis in the heart of the city. The road leading to the dar was typically Moroccan — lively and full of character. Like many streets in Morocco, it can be a bit narrow and bustling, with scooters, carts, and people moving about, but that’s part of the authentic experience. Walking through the streets gave us a real taste of local life, and it was safe and easy to navigate once you get used to the rhythm. Overall, a wonderful stay with a perfect balance of comfort, culture, and convenience.

United KingdomIt was an amazing experience. The property is clean, beautiful and has everything you need. The rooftop breakfast was lovely, the staff were amazing and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you to everyone that looked after us and Khadija for being an amazing host. Our rooms were clean, and decorated gorgeously. A good AC and help from the staff whenever need be.

United KingdomFirstly Khadija was super lovely and such a great host! She provided us with great recommendations for where to eat, including great experiences. The room was lovely, clean and it had all that was needed. It was quiet in the Riad which was nice as it was very busy and loud around that area. All staff were super welcoming and helped us out with anything we needed. The rooftop was beautiful, it was perfect for tanning and resting, and we had breakfast there which was fab. At all times we felt safe and they had 24 hour staff which was helpful! Couldn't recommend it more!!

United KingdomOur roll was the accessible room on ground floor and fine for a family of 4 but the double bed was very uncomfortable (kids beds were fine). Also frustratingly we had a text message from the manager on the afternoon of our last day asking us to get cash to pay for the room as the card machine was broken. We struggled to get out enough (we hit our daily limits on the 2 cards we had) and so at 6am the morning we were leaving my husband had to make another trip to a cash point - it was dark and I was worried. Next time I will pay in advance before we arrive (we were late booking and had to pay on arrival)
Staff were lovely and so helpful. Place was clean, safe, quiet. Breakfast was lovely on the rooftop. It was central location and easy to find. We parked our car in a recommended car park near by for 50dM a night.

United KingdomOne of the twin rooms we booked and confirmed via a message had one double bed two friends had to share, there was no alternative available. The location was ok for us, but it was on a bit run down alleyway and while within Medina it was south and a bit far from some places.
Beautiful riad, great roof top and communal area downstairs to enjoy. Nice breakfast - worth paying for it on one of the mornings. Comfy beds. Great person running it. Overall fantastic value for money. It was as good or even better than in the photos.

United KingdomNothing.
Dar Alif is a beautiful Riad. Clean, well appointed and the staff are very welcoming & pleasant. A tranquil oasis. The rooftop garden is a huge bonus too. Our room was cleaned every day & nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The Riad is 10 minutes walk from the Bahia Palace and the souks - you have to walk through the spice souks to get anywhere which is magical. The Riad is slightly tricky to find - the backstreets of Marrakech are a maze - so we were glad that we’d pre-booked a taxi from the airport via the Riad as a staff member came to collect us from the taxi drop off.

United KingdomKhadija, the manager at Dar Alif, made our stay so special. She was so helpful and welcoming, gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat and booked the hot air balloon ride for us - which was an incredible experience. The Raid itself is beautiful, and our room was gorgeous, lovely to have the rooftop area too. Location is great, walking distance to everything and as two adult females, we did feel quite safe walking home ourselves at night to the Raid.
