Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainA few things to note. First, the pool has limited hours (10:00-18:00). Second, it is prohibited to drink alcohol in the riad. Third, there are major issues with water pressure in the rooms. At times, there was no water, which is difficult to manage in the Marrakech heat.
Beautiful riad in a great location in the medina with a nice plunge pool and a huge terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

United KingdomThis stay was amazing, highly recommend! The staff were so kind and couldn't do enough for you. Despite a (fantastic) very central location in Jeema el'fna the Riad felt very quiet, calm and safe. I would definitely recommend paying the €25 fee for someone to pick you up at the airport, and then a member of staff from the Riad to meet you at the taxi and walk you to the Riad, as it is a short walk from where cars can travel through a Souk into the Riad, so very easy to get lost! But once you have been shown the route it is then easy to navigate for the rest of your trip. 10/10 could not recommend this Riad enough!

United StatesI don’t have anything I didn’t like, but I will note that the riad is located in Old Medina so you can’t be dropped off right at the property. There is about a 10 minute walk from the drop off to the riad but a member of the staff came to meet us to help with baggage. You can also rent a karosa which is a small cart to help transport the bags. We arrived late at night (2 am) which at first sight was a bit shocking because the streets were empty, but after exploring the first day with my friend, I felt comfortable enough to walk the streets alone in the morning to meet my hot air balloon driver. It’s important to remain diligent and safe, but I personally did not have any issues with feeling unsafe or scared. You will need to bring your own iron/steamer.
This property is absolutely beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly and readily available. The breakfast is delicious and it is centrally located to many restaurants, souks, etc. The room was clean and as soon as you walk into the riad, it smells AMAZING! I would 100% stay here again.

ItalyThe only downside was the absence of a door between the room and the bathroom, which are only divided by a curtain.
Dar Aurora is a hidden gem in the heart of the medina of Marrakech. The riad is welcoming and cozy. The staff is kind and available. Special mention to Jamal, who came and picked us up late at night in the main square and took us to the riad, where cars are not allowed. The rooms are nice and face the internal court and the bathrooms are very clean. The pool provides a refreshing resource when it’s too warm to be outside. The breakfast was good and fresh.

United StatesAt no fault of the hotel (I assume) the corridor right outside of the riad is a huge cat hangout (loads of people love cats, very few love the liter box smell) and there are a couple of very dark spots along the walk. The overall value is worth this walk, in our opinion.
The staff picked us up from the main square upon arrival and assisted us with obtaining a car upon departure. This traditional riad is very beautifully and tastefully decorated. The staff is wonderful...very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and delivered upon request each morning. The rooftop is beautiful and offers additional "hang out" space on cooler days and evenings. The owner is very hands on and offered great recommendations for dinner and a hamam/spa visit. He was kind enough to make reservations for us at each location. His personal touch ensured our stay was one we will never forget.

AustraliaNothing to fault.
The decore of the Riad and bedroom was so beautiful and clean, what you see in the picture is what you get. It was very central and accessible to the souks and main square of the medina. The whole area at night is stunning and very intimate, kind of vibe. With red roses and the beautiful fragrance of the Moroccan diffusers. I highly recommended this place as a solo traveller. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I will come back here for my next trip.

United KingdomI organised a transfer from the airport and was charged 25 EURO. I wanted a transfer because I was travelling by myself and wanted everything to be easy and safe. When I went back to the airport I arranged a cab using the Uber equivalent and it was the equivalent of 6 EURO!!! This upset me a little as the charge was obviously extortionate and not worth it.
Location and breakfast was amazing. The decor was gorgeous as well! I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Everything was easily reachable and Alvaro was incredibly helpful.

United KingdomI think the breakfast selection could have been better and it would take a while or be cold but the staff there, really tried their best and were very kind and helpful.
I liked the interior of the Riad and how close it was to the Souk and restaurants. It was a very convenient location. The room was decorated very nicely and we felt very comfortable with our stay.

GermanyThe bed is a bit hard for my taste however my husband was happy with it. I grabbed an extra blanket and slept on top of it and was very happy.
The staff. The Riad is beautiful on it’s own of course, just like the pictures, but the most amazing part of this place were the staff. One staff member brought in oils made on his farm outside of the city and every staff member made us feel at home and very cared for. Also, it is located on a side street but only a two minute walk away from markets! Would recommend this Riad to anyone!

IrelandNothing major. The morning we had to leave early, we had to wait for breakfast because the woman/chef hadn't arrived yet. The guy arranged some coffee and snacks. Not their fault but yeah might not happen with you maybe.
Great location. Hardly a few minutes walk to the souks. 7-10 minutes to the Jemaa El-fnaa square. Beautiful property, similar to the pictures.

NetherlandsThe staff at the accommodation was excellent, friendly and welcoming. They waited for us at a meeting point at the medina (and we were late). In addition to that, they offered very good recommendations and helped book museums and hammam. Whenever we would come back from the city someone would come and ask how the day went and if there's something that we need. Not to say about the sweet dog, Selfie. Breakfast was good, typical Moroccan and the riad is very well taken care of, our room was cleaned daily. It's an oasis of peace and relaxation, located just inside the medina. We'd like to thank Hicham and all the staff for making our stay in Marrakesh memorable.

PhilippinesWe had such a wonderful stay at dar aurora, however, last minute before we check out, we were charged for the bottles of water we asked from the staff. We were not informed first hand upon our arrival that they will charge for such, they only asked us if we want water (or anything else). It kinda came as a shock for us when we had to pay a couple of hundred dirhmas just for the water. But nonetheless, our stay was pleasant.
The riad itself was charming and cozy. Love the ambience of the whole place, staff were accommodating, and the breakfast is served on time every morning.

ItalyMaybe fixing the wooden windows on the ground floor for better privacy and some more “help” on site, for example with printing boarding pass or general city/taxi info. Just random details: a fridge and a little table or shelves in the room would be awesome, especially for longer stays.
Beautifully decorated Dar with a colourful and relaxing atmosphere. The surroundings are quiet, being close to whatever you want to explore inside the Medina. Selfie is a sweet company during your stay, and the staff is always nice and descreet. Good breakfast and small but cute rooms.
